I think it is a very good tool for students and hobbyists who want to learn electronics but cannot afford (or do not have physical space for) a more standard set of equipment. One can get a long way with an ADALM2000 and some cheap components from amazon or ali.
This would have been fantastic when I was first learning electronics, but we didn't have laptops then or personal computers and even any kind of computer was rare. I can see that by the time someone learning electronics becomes aware of the subtle limitations of this device they will be well on their way.
Yes, the small physical size is a great for students and hobbyists. My "bench" is really part of desk top. I have no more than 4 square feet or so! I simply don't have space for more professional text equipment.

Wishing this existed when I studied for my electrical engineering degree. And the all in one features made me just buy one...
