After recently experiencing major mentally traumatic events I’ve found myself regressing back to when I was in middle school, same mannerisms, interests, behavior, its similar but now I’m an adult. It’s kind of comforting in a way, because I can close my eyes and think back to when I first got hurt and smile at that young innocent child that would go through so much shit. This song makes me feel like I can go back in time and give a hug to my younger self bc that’s all they needed, and still need. I always used to say “I’m not the same person” “I’ve changed so much” but in reality I’m still the same as I was, I just hide and protect myself better now. Nothing can really hurt me anymore. Deep down I’m still that kid. My skin turned into armor but the inside still remains the same, a child who wants to be loved and protected. A child who craves affection and acceptance for who they are. A child who is listened to and not ridiculed for everything they do or enjoy.

•that’s pretty long and typically titles work best if they’re 1-3 words
•it would sort of take away from that line in the chorus because it spoils it i guess, i think it’s better to hear the most powerful line in a song than see it in a title first
