I have two guineas and we LOVE LOVE THEM! They are so fun. You take excellent care of yours. We spoil ours too. Lots of greens, fruits, veggies, hay, etc. They are so easy to maintain. Very clean little critters. Lovable too.
I’m so curious and wonder if you’ve already shared your “story” as to when you first began raising Guinea pigs. Did you breed them at first and then separate the boys from the girls later? (Because they all seem to be the American short hair breed and even have similar markings.) I only have two boys. My husband brought home a six month old boy And then on You Tube (I watch ALL of” LA Guinea Pig Rescue”’s videos and “Scotty’s Animals”) I learned how to take care of them and that they are herd animals and need at least one buddy. So I found a 3 week old boy and thankfully they have always gotten along! Your experience is so different than mine! I love watching them eat. I always make one big salad of about five different veggies and occasionally add fruit.I dump it all out at once and they do their picky eating and nibble on one things and I add in non-grain, non-soy pellets and tons of hay! Thank you for sharing your piggies with us. Such a peaceful morning start! ❤
hello Dawn it all started a couple of years ago when at a friend house and he had a couple who were get a bad time from the others so I took them to an other property where I was breeding chickens put them in the the chickens shed , as time when on end up with others as well as for our warm weather and I like the American GP selected them to breed with . now I feel lucky to share their happiness thank you so much for sharing your story have a great 2023

then liked them running around , and they livened up the place
and they are great for my friends family and now I am lucky to be able to share , the short answer by accident
Papaya and water melon seeds when chewed are great for killing parasites.

but they don’t eat the seeds , as I use the pen cleaning in my garden
ever seed just pops up so all my gardens have ever thing growing in them that I feed them
I use a wormer that I add in their water at different times
