All my childhood I suffered coz of the "just ignore it. They'll get tired of it" crap from adults who should've helped me. This mother is teaching her son there's nothing wrong with defending yourself.
True story: I was in about 5th grade, age 11. For several days in a row as I was walking home from school, a neighbor and classmate started hurling insults at me and shoving me some. I just ignored him. About the 4th or 5th day I decided I'd had enough of that. I put him on his back, sat across his chest, and just beat the snot out of him. A day or two later he started acting like we were best buds. What an odd way to pick your friends.
I feel like the father is the biggest bully of them all. You can tell the Mother’s in an abusive relationship cause she has a lot of caring qualities that are buried under her anger. She’s projecting how she’s actively being treated into how they’re being raised. When your living in abuse it’s easy to lose self of who you once were.
The number of kids wearing glasses keeps growing though. A lot of the bullying in this short film seems to be homophobic rather than "haha he wears glasses".
When my uncle was a kid, he used to get bullied all the time by this one kid from school. After years of this, he came home crying yet again, but my grandpa was fixing his car in the driveway. He told him, "No. This ends today. You go back there and fight him, and don't come back until you do. No more running away. Now LEAVE". My uncle went back, and absolutely pummeled this bully. From that day forward, he was the most popular kid in school, and grew to be a true man. Never go looking for a fight, and don't start one for no reason. If anyone hurts you, you defend yourself. If you see someone else being hurt, you step in and handle it. Some call this "toxic masculinity". I call it bravery, virtue, and integrity. Good for that mom. As soon as she realized that her son was being bullied, she taught him a valuable lesson about self-respect. We need more of this and less helicopter parenting.
its easy to say since I assume your not 12 but when they are that age the friend cant really do anything, he would have just gotten beat up to. It nice to have the sentiment but when they are little kids not throwing yourself in front of a bullet doesnt make you a bad friend
It’s very different when you actually experience being a bystander yourself. It’s not as easy as it looks and you might also become a victim of the bullies.
The bully is the same all over the world: they only feel strong when they have a gang around them. Now, they have Twitter or Facebook to hide behind but cowards all the same. They'll never have the balls to confront their victims on their own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for the short film.👏

"Never start a fight, but always finish it." My mom told me that after I got beat up at the school bus stop. I was backing up not wanting to fight and tripped on a curb, the kid sat on me and got some good hits in before the bus showed up. We fought again the next day because I couldn't be done like that in front of my friends. I didn't have any trouble from him again.
The main kid (Brian) was much bigger than the bully. Its just that Brian did not believe in violence (remember he apologized when he first hit the bully). So it stands to reason he could whop the other kid.
I think when he had the confidence to fight back he realized how weak those punches were or how it didn't affect him as much. The mom telling him to fight back was the push he needed I think because he always listens to his mom.
My dad taught me how to throw a punch to defend myself. When a bully 2 years older than me was pushing me around, I punched him in the stomach and sent him home crying. I felt empowered. He gained some respect.

A good mom must realize what happens with his children. In general, when a child is abused he will never say anything at home, he does not do it out of shame or fear, and that is when parents must become detectives to investigate what happens to the child when he is not under their gaze.
I had a bully once. He was what we call the "School bully" as he picked on pretty much everyone, for pretty much no reason other than he wanted to be an ass. One has to stand for himself in all walks of life. There is a proverb in the Hindi language which says God helps those who help themselves. First, stand for yourselves then everything will follow up. It's a good deed mother finally understood what her boy is facing. Finally took courage to encourage her boy to fight back.
Why are people saying they want this kind of Mom,only because she made him fight the bully in the end? She belittled and bullied him herself, she's acting out her own inner rage through her son.
The mom should have made a speech like “Your the man of the house Bryan, you have to defend yourself.” “You fight and teach people to respect you! Your the boss now Bryan!”
That was me. Glasses, traumatized and an easy target. My mom taught me and so did my older bro to stand up for myself , that generalized I’m middle school and even today to me sticking up for those who are bullied. I used that skill in my career as a Spec Ed teacher. Go figure kids who are different.
At first I was shocked at the way the mom handled it, especially since she hadn't been very understanding in the past, but I now think this is the best solution. In order never to get bullied again the boy had to overcome his fears all by himself against the bully he had always been afraid of. And let's be honest, fears can be irrational, because the bully wasn't very strong but only tough because he was with his mates.
At least the kid won't be a softie. Teaching your kid to stand up for himself is not flawed parenting. Now if she let her son mount the other kid and keep hitting him THEN she is a bad parent.
I wish I had a mother like that! Loved this short. So accurate reconstruction of the late 70s: the curtain in the shower for example, the car, kid's and mom's clothing
I cried, my brother was bullied everyday on the bus. Our dad passed when I was 4 and he was 6. After talking to the school several times, my mother told him to not come home until he kicked his ass. He did.
You can't really do this (at least in school) these days, but in my youth, all I had to do was finally knock my bully over a couple of desks and chairs in front of the class and I was never bothered again. I was a big kid and I know not every kid could do this, but sometimes all it takes is hitting them once. People say "violence doesn't solve anything ." Maybe not, but it certainly clarifies and draws a line. Say what you will, but that one act brought me years of peace and no further bullying. If a teacher had seen it (which she didn't ), I might have been reprimanded , but not suspended.
This "fight back" idea is great if the boys are equal in size and strength. What happens when one kid weighs a skinny 60 pounds and the bully is a muscular 90-100? The bully sits on your chest, humiliates you while adults just walk by and do nothing.

@@PracticallyBlind explain it to me
Bullying is an nonstopping, never-ending epidemic.
Good on him for standing up for himself
“No Star Wars this weekend!” XDD
At first I was shocked at the way the mom handled it, especially since she hadn't been very understanding in the past, but I now think this is the best solution. In order never to get bullied again the boy had to overcome his fears all by himself against the bully he had always been afraid of. And let's be honest, fears can be irrational, because the bully wasn't very strong but only tough because he was with his mates.
All I got out of this is flawed parenting.
Yep. I can understand sticking up for yourself and defending yourself, but when your mom is actively telling you to beat up a kid, that's strange.
@Alex Salerno wtf
At least the kid won't be a softie. Teaching your kid to stand up for himself is not flawed parenting. Now if she let her son mount the other kid and keep hitting him THEN she is a bad parent.
But in the last part I think her solution was pretty good,
This is actually the best way to deal with bullies because teacher don’t care if you are bullied in first place
It’s funny to imagine a neighbor walking by and seeing a group of people cheering on some kids trying to beat each other up.
Bryan’s first couple of swings were so unreal 😂😂😂😂 those kids has the never to beat him up in his own yard.
Ok honestly if I saw a mom act like that where I would have to fight and she pushes me back in, she wouldn’t expect me to push back
The mother is aggressive and tells his own kid that it is his fault that SHE broke them
brooo the mom is a whole mooddd "if u dont hit back boy" lmaooo
The style of bullying was wrong for that age group, it was the style of older boys.
bullying someone is very dangerous you don't know what they been through or when they will snap.
I wish I had a mother like that!
Loved this short. So accurate reconstruction of the late 70s: the curtain in the shower for example, the car, kid's and mom's clothing
I like how the mother saw the broken glasses but not his wounds xdd
Or she just thought he was fighting, as the optometrist said "you're mom tells me you're quite the scrapper"
i wish the blonde kid would stand with him and not run away that kid that bullied him would be easy to take down if i was his age
Every time i watch one of these my moral wears away even more...
That mom is straight up having a panic attack at 5:28
9:59 the definition of petty I was like no she did not just do that💯😂
I love how at the end the bully is like, “tf is happenin????”
This "fight back" idea is great if the boys are equal in size and strength. What happens when one kid weighs a skinny 60 pounds and the bully is a muscular 90-100? The bully sits on your chest, humiliates you while adults just walk by and do nothing.
If I were a witness to this bullying, I'd call 911.
Just stumbled on this channel yesterday. Best stumble EVER!
I would never bully him, because I would be jealous of him for having glasses
Bro it's a disability 😭
@@pip3827 it’s not a disability bruh
It’s a disability
@@st7rlette um I have glasses, it's not a disability we just can't see stuff
They look good tho. I’d be jealous
Bullying is not okay it's wrong , growing up being a bully victim myself it's sad
Bullying is a horrific crime
Moral of the story: Fight back
And scoop out the bully's eyes after it lightly touches the ground 🙃💀
Until the nose is broken
Until you can see the muscles
Until you can see his skull
Until you can see his soul
for those of you that dont know this is based in the 70s so they are talking about the old star wars movies
Some real talent here! Best I've seen in Omeleto so far. Remembering this director for sure.
Asa kid from the 70’s , this was spot on - clothes, hair and of course Star Wars - great acting - great movie all involved .
12 years old and cant get a good punch
the bully would be on the ground right now if they stopped slapping each other
Bro honestly those kids are slower than my grandma
12:37 they should have went on their bikes lol
Everyone gangster until jojo theme starts playing
Poor kid gets bullied at home and at school. His parents are terrible ppl. caught up in their own world. Bullies are cowards.
