The mounts at the bellhousing seemed to be enough. I did not add a tailshaft mount. I did initially worry about that but I have been driving it for 3 years without any issue.
Matthew, sorry I just saw your question. Its from a 4.3 S10. Its gear a bit lower than most of them with a .86 final drive. Works well with the 3.42 gearing.
I'm trying to find a 5 speed transmission for my truck but I'm looking for one with overdrive. And that would use my stock gauges. Know what year I can pull from?
No, I had to use an adapter plate. That moves the shaft back about 1/2. I also had to 1 7/8 inches off the collar. I used the stock size flywheel and pressure plate with clutch to match the transmission. In my case the clutch was from the 1996 Chevy S10.
@@scottfrieszell5426 I'm planning on doing the same to my 66 c10 250 6cyl. I learned the front input shaft can be changed from the s10 14 spline to a 10 spline so the correct clutch can be used
@@scottfrieszell5426 are you using digital gauges with that electric t5 speedo output of conversion box? I also have an electric t5 and am trying to find a cost effective method
@@scottfrieszell5426 thank you for this info! The adapter plates on the website list comparability with s10 t5’s up to 1992. Did you need to do anything special to get the 95 transmission sorted? Love the way that 216 drives!
@@RelentlessCreation 95 was the first year they started using the ford bolt pattern. I would recommend finding the T5 transmission first to make sure you get the correct adapter. I also had to cut the front transmission collar 1 7/8 inches I believe. I'd have look at my notes to confirm that.
I would love to set my 38 Master sedan with a your setup. Thanks for sharing
Nice truck
Once it was mounted up were the mounts on the bell housing enough to support everything or was another cross member added at the rear of the trans?

Was that a 4.3 T-5 from a S10 or a 2.2 T5. Trying to decide on a transmission for my 53 3100. Mine has a 235 inline 6. Thanks!

Looking forward to doing this same swap on my 47..
It is well worth it. Really makes the truck more drivable.
What rear ends are you guys running? Currently looking to hook up a T5 with a 14 bolt
Hey I got a question I have a 1952 ch Evy truck I was wondering what is the gear shift pattern on it ??
Using original bench seat? Curious how close shifter ends up being to the seat.
Yes, stock bench. I had to make my own shifter
Is your suspension stock? My 38 with leaf springs rides like a and old farm truck
No. Is has a 3 inch front drop axle and 3 inch lowering springs front and rear. It rides pretty good for an old truck.

Wes, your best bet is probably one out of an s10. The pre 94's i believe had the cable driven speedometer. Lot s of good articles in T5s online.
@@scottfrieszell5426 alrighty thanks for the advice and the response
Is a direct bolt on? What clutch and flywheel did you use?

Beautiful truck, I want to do the same transmission what year t5 is it thanks
Thanks! I used a T5 from a 95 S10. It sure made the truck a lot more drivable and took a lot of strain off the motor.

@@ktxlonestarr no my gauges are from New Vintage. They're made in the US, look vintage and support the electric speedo.

Question , what shifter are you using
It is actually out of an old dump truck. I modified it to fit the T5.
Is that a 216 pushing everything?
Ryan, yes it still has the original 216. I'm building a 292 to put in it, but honestly hate to take the 216 out because it runs so good.
