What a lovely video! Can you explain about where the Dremel itself needs to be positioned if you're not in a workshop but at home for example. Does it need to be hung up?
Yeah you need to have it hung up, in my workshop I have a number of different hooks about for it to hang on, depending on what I’m working on. You can also buy a stand that attaches to a table with a pole attached to hang it on. I’ll try and find a link as I don’t think I explained that very well 😂😂
Great tutorial, very concise and informative, thank you! The collet and driver cap were very tight on the threads when I first used my new Dremel but after tightening and untightening a few times has loosened of considerably. Is this normal?
Great Video! I have followed the same instructions as you have given in the video to the dot, and insert the inner cord into the silver bolt, the lock knot on the Flex Shaft doesn't close enough to catch the screw surface for the Flex Shaft to get secured. It seems the silver knot should go further into the Flex Shaft, but it doesn't and I'm left with a gap of about 1 inch. I'd be grateful if you know how to solve the problem.
Yes it does! It works on all main Dremels. Just not on the Dremel Stylo+. I think it fits on the Dremel Lite, but not much point popping it in that. 👍👍
I'd like to know how to keep it in good shape. I read, some time ago, that it needs lubrication from time to time. I'm really surprised how little there is out there on the 'How To'. Thank you.
I am just learning - I want to use a dremel for my toenails. I do not understand what that long flexible cable is that appears at about 2.09 tha does not seem to be part of the finished setup
I’m not sure I understand your question? If you are talking about the flex shaft itself, that’s what the video is about? If it’s the central cable that runs through the flex shaft, that’s what drives flex shaft from the dremel?
just got the flex shaft to attach to my 4000. However, and sadly, despite following instructions and watching your video just to check, my Dremel is running so hot I fear the motor will burn out. No way I can run my 4000 at full RPMs for the 2 minute test. Seems when the collar is fully screwed on the attachment is hitting housing (near the collar) somewhere. When I unscrew the collar a bit the shaft runs fine but the collar of course will "unscrew" completely in a few seconds and detach the hose. It runs fine without the hose attached so it appears I've attached it all correctly...Any ideas anyone?? (My Dremel is 10 years old...could it be the Dremel? A bad flex shaft? (It is a Dremel brand shaft).
Is the flex shaft itself recent. It may need some lubricant inside? If you are still having issue drop me a couple of pictures of the issues or a short vid to my email - markpeach74@gmail.com and I’ll try and help.
Haven't used mine in a while, but definitely handy to have. Mine has been permanently attached to my 4000 in the workshop.
Me too mate, I’ve not even set foot in the workshop since December
Thanks for this and a nice bit of Shadow Foam 🤣🤣
thank you SO much, here I was struggling for the past hour and you helped me in a few mns 🙏
You are very welcome. Give me a shout if you need help with anything else. That’s why I’m here. 👍👍

They can loosen over time.

Are you able to email me some pictures so I can work out what you mean and advise. markpeach74@googlemail.com
Does the flexible shaft work in Dremel 8260?
Yes it does! It works on all main Dremels. Just not on the Dremel Stylo+. I think it fits on the Dremel Lite, but not much point popping it in that. 👍👍
thank you @@PeachTreeCrafting 👍

Thank you.
I’ll add a maintenance vid onto my to do list. 👍
@@PeachTreeCrafting Oh?!! That’s so awesome and fully appreciated!! Wow!! Thank you!!!

I did not understand that the flex shaft is a supplementary piece attached to the dremel but on other sites it became clear@@PeachTreeCrafting
Can you attach a chuck to the flex shaft
Yes you can👍👍
Great question by the way
Nice shadowfoam board
Thank you, looks good and keeps everything handy.

Thank you for reply! It’s a brand new flex shaft and seems quite greased up from factory. Email to follow❤
Love you too.
:)
Do you realize how quiet you are in this vid? I've had to turn up the volume all the way.
Must have had a mic issue that I didn’t pick up on. Cheers for the comment.
