RIP Oom Sakkie. That carb turned out great. You commented about limitations in how well the airbox could be restored. First, I like to see a little character in vintage rebuilds. It looks fine. However, I do know that a set of automotive bodywork hammers & dies can sometimes work for stuff like this. I haven't used bodywork dies in years, but I do know that they work. Also, I've seen you zinc plate stuff so much that I finally ordered a plating kit from Caswell so I can restore a few things on the to-do list. Looking forward to your next video!
I had that exact burn on my forearm also, did it on the oven rack, is that your culprit also? I would have thrown that carb in the garbage, great to see you saved it.
You will have to buy a fine sponge that is bigger than the air box and cut the sponge to fit it ~ must be a tight fit and not have any gaps that the air can get around
*_I love the amount of love and dedication you show on these restorations!_*
"Damn, this is a big project!"
And we all will eagerly await each video.
Looking forward to the continuation of the project. Cheers.
Thank you, me too!
I like the Island Blue color. 👍
I like the zink coating .it brings the restoration together.🎉
Thank you, it does add great detail to the restoration.
Zinc plating looks so good!!
Thank you! It does look pretty great.
Looking forward to the engine restoration. I hope most of the parts can be reused!

I don't know if it will work, but it looks amazing. Very nice work... Thumbs Up
I hope to see it running and am sure you can make any seals or gaskets required from scratch. I just hope no mechanical parts are required 🤞

Challenges are good, I like it. Thank you for the comment buddy!
Excellent.

Yes I have a new air filter for it, I will be inserted when the engine restoration is done and ready to run.
Good job mister beautiful
Good morning AJ from Southeast South Dakota
What solvent did you use to clean the old gasoline buildup? It looked like it did a great job to start out.
Nice
Depending on the electrical needs of your House this gen set should have enough watts to power it up with no issues
I agree, I hope the electrical side of the generator still works.
@@AJRestoration I hope so too because of all the work you have in this generation station.
great job aj, i feel like after this you're gonna want an ultrasonic cleaner. Also what's the name of the solvent you used to pre clean it?
Is there not supposed to be a filter in the air intake? It would be odd if it doesn't.
Excelente !
WOW
Lyk netjies ✅
Percussive persuasion @ ~4:00.
Haha I had to, could not get it to budge with my hands alone, the bigger the issue the bigger the hammer.
@@AJRestoration If brute force doesn't work, get a bigger brute. And if it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
Yayyyyyy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Olvidó poner el filtro de aire para el carburador‼️
Yes I have a new air filter for it, I will be inserted when the engine restoration is done and ready to run.
Are you building a generator for load shedding?
Luckily my area does not have load shedding haha
@@AJRestoration 'tsek wena 😂
Is there supposed to be an air filter?
👍🏼
Yesssssss
Woah! Where'd ya get the burn from, mate?!?!
I burned my arm from playing with one of the engines I restored some time ago, arm touched the muffler haha, was kind of painful
Wow, what a nice cleanup and restoration! That was one ugly carburetor!!!
