I drove through rural Missouri on a road trip in the early 2000’s. I don’t think I have ever seen a more poverty stricken part of the United States. It was utterly desolate. And every building we saw was run down and deteriorating, if not outright falling apart. It was very depressing. Sen. Hawley is one of those fair weather Senators, who lives primarily in Virginia, and only visits Missouri when he has to. I think it would be fantastic if Lucas Kunce is able to defeat Josh Hawley. Not only for Missouri, but for the country as a whole. I hope that women in Missouri are paying attention. I made a couple of small donations to Lucas’ campaign a while back. I will try to see if I can scrounge up a little bit more to help out with. I would love to see Josh Hawley out of the U.S. Senate, almost as much as I would like to see Ted Cruz gone.

Missouri definitely isn't the only place like this. There are huge areas in GA, AL, MS, and LA I've been in that have had all their infrastructure (hospitals, schools, utilities, etc..) gutted. There's so many nice, friendly, caring people in those places barely getting by, constantly getting barraged with right wing propaganda. As soon as I started deploying to these towns/parishes, as wrong-headed and as sad as it is, I understood why Trump appealed to them. For their entire lives, every one of their politicians have all but abandoned them as their communities wither and jobs disappear. The lies he tells about draining the swamp and blaming others just become too appealing at that point. Side Note: when I was in GA last, we were setting up a temp dental clinic in our military uniforms. The folks running the community center we were in were so grateful and thanking us for being there, while at the same time, with straight faces, arguing against getting healthcare support from Biden's corrupt federal government.

I drove through rural Missouri on a road trip in the early 2000’s. I don’t think I have ever seen a more poverty stricken part of the United States. It was utterly desolate. And every building we saw was run down and deteriorating, if not outright falling apart. It was very depressing. Sen. Hawley is one of those fair weather Senators, who lives primarily in Virginia, and only visits Missouri when he has to. I think it would be fantastic if Lucas Kunce is able to defeat Josh Hawley. Not only for Missouri, but for the country as a whole. I hope that women in Missouri are paying attention. I made a couple of small donations to Lucas’ campaign a while back. I will try to see if I can scrounge up a little bit more to help out with. I would love to see Josh Hawley out of the U.S. Senate, almost as much as I would like to see Ted Cruz gone.

@@Rain_ReignI'm in the Air National Guard up in MA, and my unit often goes on domestic medical humanitarians; think doctors without borders... but in the US. Missouri definitely isn't the only place like this. There are huge areas in GA, AL, MS, and LA I've been in that have had all their infrastructure (hospitals, schools, utilities, etc..) gutted. There's so many nice, friendly, caring people in those places barely getting by, constantly getting barraged with right wing propaganda. As soon as I started deploying to these towns/parishes, as wrong-headed and as sad as it is, I understood why Trump appealed to them. For their entire lives, every one of their politicians have all but abandoned them as their communities wither and jobs disappear. The lies he tells about draining the swamp and blaming others just become too appealing at that point.
Side Note: when I was in GA last, we were setting up a temp dental clinic in our military uniforms. The folks running the community center we were in were so grateful and thanking us for being there, while at the same time, with straight faces, arguing against getting healthcare support from Biden's corrupt federal government.
