    I did it! It took me a year to complete but I did it. It was my second project my first being a baby blanket that was too small. If you find yourself getting frustrated or bored there is no shame in leaving it until you are ready to pick it up again. Also if you're like me and are learning as you go or you need a reminder look up other tutorials as a supplement to this one and the written pattern. Thanks Love Crafts for a great cardigan. Have fun everyone, I'll see you on the other side.

    This cardigan is pretty ambitious for one of my first projects. What has helped me is watching this tutorial, using the written pattern, and most importantly watching supplemental videos. As someone who doesn't even know thr vocabulary or basic stitches those supplementary videos really helped me out .
    Also, slow this video down I watch it on .75 speed.

    • @nurinhasyazahra1002
      @nurinhasyazahra1002 2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      @@susygarner6142 in the instructions for row 2 it says
      dc 2, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next st, dc 10, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next st, dc 24, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next st, dc 10, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next st, dc 2, ch 2, turn (60 sts)
      So as you can see the instructions in bracket is in the same loop or same st, that means in the same loop has three things you need to crochet that is (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc). I'm sorry if my English is hard to understand because it is not my first language. Hope this will help you☺

    Beautiful sweater, but very hard tutorial to follow. Not everyone can read a pattern. I did EXACTLY what was stated in the pattern for the second row and somehow came out with more stitches than you did. I have been crocheting for many years, but this was my first attempt at a cardigan. I am kind of disappointed that you kept reverting back to the pattern. I only have internet on my phone, so reading a pattern on a two inch screen isn't easy. I did all the correct counts of stitches for chain and row one, but somehow came out with more stitches than needed for row two. Threw row three way off. Would love to see a step by step tutorial that includes ALL rows.

      Thank you. I've been on constant rewind trying to work out the yoke shaping. Thought I was losing the plot.
      Now we've gone from a couple of rows to maybe 10 rows in one blink of an eye. There was mention of "double crochet all the way round with no increase until you get to the corners", with no explanation of what to do at the corners. Flying ahead about 10 rows just doesn't make sense. Parts of the video are very good but like, let's not make assumptions that people can fill the gaps in. Especially on a beginner tutorial
      This lady is very lovely, but this is not a tutorial. This is a jigsaw with a lot of missing pieces.

  • @redmoonkitty574
    @redmoonkitty574 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For anyone struggling to figure out round two the chain space in-between the the stitches counts toward the total of stitches that you should have, not the chain one or two at the end that makes the turning. The author should have put in the notes of the pdf that the chain space counts toward total stitch count. Other than that I cant wait to start and finish what will be a wonderful cardigan.

    Just getting started with this so will let you know how I get on. It's the first cardigan I've ever made and in fact the first wearable I've ever made, not counting hats and scarves and a poncho I've made. Had the idea to turn my gauge swatch into one of the pockets by adding three more rows and following the rest of the pattern for the pocket. Not sure if anyone else does this.

    Hai, I'm a beginner. If I use different yan and different hook size, will it make the size of cardigan different ?

    • @lovecraftscom
      @lovecraftscom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Aithing - yes it will, if you use a smaller yarn and hook it will be smaller, and if you use a bigger yarn and hook, it will be bigger - but also the proportions may not work either. Best to find a pattern that is written for your weight of yarn, or try this one with as close as you can get! xx

    I just purchased the yarn to make this cardigan. I'm reading through the written instructions. When you get down to Row 17, just after that it says "Size SX go to BODY section now" and it does that for each size. I'm making the Large. Does that mean I keep crocheting rows until I get to row 24 which then says "Size L go to BODY section now"? Is the "BODY" section where it says "Separate body from sleeve". Thank you for any help! :)

    I’m at the final round on my first arm but something must be wrong in the pattern.. I’m crocheting size XL so if I’ve read the pattern right it should be: *dc2tog, 2dc* repeat 11 times, 2dc. When I do this, the result is 35 dc, not 38 dc as the pattern said. Can someone help me with this? I’m not a beginner at crocheting so I’m so frustrated that I don’t understand this part…

    • @lovecraftscom

      Hi JoAnne, I don't think so no, the best thing to do would be to to create a different kind of fastening - you could make little crochet loops and sew them on to act as button holes, or you could use poppers, or make little ties to fasten. Happy crochet! Kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
