@@ginnysilverHello, I was going to your channel. I enjoyed watching the videos on your channel. But very few people are watching those videos. If the viewers and subscribers aren't high, then your channel will not be nominated for monetization. There are many videos on your channel, but not many viewers have seen them because they are very far in the search rankings. As a result, the audience doesn't find it. If your video is SEO optimized, it will be at the top of the search engine. So, viewers will see SEO in your video, and you will understand the difference. Your videos do not have copyright protection; anyone can download them and upload them to their channel. so you need to protect your videos.
Hi Ginny, I have a couple of questions. I totaled up my sales and since I didn’t sell any property (it was all just doing service based sales), the state said I wouldn’t likely have to pay unless I bought things that would be considered a use tax. I was told to email the state, but the last time I did, they didn’t reply. However, based on this tutorial, it seems straightforward. Would I add my services in the Other nontaxable section? Also, my business is registered in one city, but I do pop up events throughout the Southern California area. Would I still be subject to district and local taxes even if I am likely exempt from charging sales tax? Thank you.
My question is, if you have a company on net 30, but it is time to pay sales tax, do you pay the sales tax for invoices you sent out that month or do you pay them in the month you got paid on them?
Quick question. So going off from the number in the video, if the total sales was $7,974 but say I paid a commission of 10% to someone, is the amount still $7,974 or do I put $7,176.6 instead? Thanks in advance.
Do you get the same tax deductions with a sellers permit as with a business license ? I am trying to figure all of this out for a Shopify store. I am not sure if I need both a business license or just a sellers permit.
You need both - they are two different requirements. Many more videos about this on my channel - search for business license and sellers permit and shopify
Business license is the permit required by your city to have a business. Sellers permit is a permit by the state to collect and remit sales tax which is required on tangible products

When you receive the money
You mentioned they want a filing even if it’s 0, does that include when only selling on eBay where sales tax is collected for you?
If you hold a sellers permit, you must always file a return regardless

Your gross income is $7974 and the 10% is a businesd deduction
@@ginnysilver thank you very much!

You deduct the amount you pay in sales tax and the cost of the business license on your taxes but those are the only deductions.
@@ginnysilver thank you for your help. I really appreciate the quick response.
@stacymrichmond very welcome 🤗
When you say sales tax collected on your sales can you explain this?
