I have the original Emily doll from Ashton Drake galleries . I purchased it for my mother 20 years ago when she received a flyer in the mail introducing her , and she fell in love . My mother was dying of cancer and only lived a short while after receiving her but she would have her in the bed with her as she was comforted by her presence ( she'd lost a baby before I was born so she had reverted to those memories while suffering through her disease ) this doll brought her so much joy , my father made her a cradle and I still have her to this day. She is beautiful and still smells of that new baby scent. I just recently purchased my own reborn baby , and he is lovely . I'm new to the reborn community. I'm not sure I'll collect them but I do cherish the two babies I own . I didn't know until seeing your video they even recreated an anniversary edition of Emily. She is adorable as well

I have changed my mind about my dolls. I have found that sometimes I really enjoyed the doll at first and then didn’t care for it as much later. I think this is normal in our hobby. I truly enjoy your channel! Take care. 🌹❤

I have a big collection and love all my dolls. Sometimes I change them and will play only with that one for a months or so 😅but my silicones are pretty much daily favorite 😍. It depends on my mood and needs. I have to say I love my boys.

I have the original Emily and then I bought the 20th and anniversary one and was not pleased with the 20th anniversary one compared to the original Emily . The 20th anniversary edition may have had a rooted hair and armature which I love! but it actually looked like an actual doll to where the original Emily looks like an actual newborn baby, so I sent mine back.

I ordered a reborn from Russia & it took 4 months to get here, by the time she arrived, the hype was gone. I thought she was lost and the heartache & trauma was a bit much. When she arrived she was much smaller than I expected, she just wasn’t what I thought. I sold her a few months later. Just couldn’t bond. 😢

I took the armatures out it makes her lovely and floppy and cuddly like a real baby x

I love the watermelons! I can't find that brand at my Walmart unfortunately we have a very small baby section.

I recently sold several dolls on Mercari and my Emily was listed as I had not really bonded with her. A few days after listing her I realized just how much I enjoyed having her and I immediately took her off Mercari. I'm so so glad I kept her.

Interesting topic as always! I have definitely experienced this! With one baby in particular when I opened her I was disappointed. I had built her up in my mind and she was different than I was expecting. But the more I interacted with her, changed her and photographed her, the more I grew to love her and now she is one of my favorites! I love different dolls for different reasons (how poseable they are, how photogenic they are, how cuddly they are, etc.) but it’s always ok to change your mind!

I think it's very common to change your feelings about a doll, your tastes can change over time.
The armature in your doll on this video isn't that great, is it wire? I put plastic link armature in my dolls that is stronger so keeps a pose...but they aren't cuddly once armature is put in, if that is your thing.
We ALL can be picky, it's our money!! Great video!! Simone xo

Good morning ❤ I remember you getting her, and I am still debating that purchase as I have all 4 of the Emily dolls from AD 20 years ago!! They are still in their original clothes and boxes!! I'm struggling with keeping them all together or selling them . I want to sell them to someone who really wanted this collection from those days😊❤ if you would like them Tori to add to your collection and hand down to your daughters, let me know. My daughter does not want anything to do with them, sadly. I restarted again with another AD purchase with the baby ELIZABETH as that's my daughter's name😊❤ I bought her for Christmas 2-3 years ago. She has as they all do the amateurs. But she is adorable 😍 💕 I have her out with the rest of my collection of my vinyls and partial silicones. She gets dressed up like they all do. ❤ the 4 AD Emily's are in the nursery but in their boxes. 20 years is a long time, esp. in this day now to see how they were to where they are now. I always wanted to change their bodies, but that scares me to try. Let me know if I can fulfill your dream to have the Emily original and / or the 3 that came after her. Let me know. I also have all the littles!! Does anyone remember those? They came out after the Emily's, I have all of them !! They are so adorable ❤ I have them in a glass hutch on display in my nursery as well.
Do you think about changing her body, Tori, as you sometimes do with others? I can send u my information 😊

Ive always wanted the original Emily, and when they remade her, i was ao excited. Then as time passed, i started to dislike the new version because she looked too dolly to me. I dislike the cloth body, eyelashes look too thick, hair too pluggy and ashy looking 😂, and i hate rods inside of dolls. Not realistic at all. Im definitely getting the original Emily and will reborn her, at least i can remove the glued on hair and root some quality hair on her. ❤❤

when i got my elsa doll i was disappointed to discover that her bodice was painted onto her body and how her cape and skirt felt papery thin. howeever, her hair and boots made up for it. and while not my favorite elsa doll i still like her.

My mom just bought me her for my 17th and her eyelashes are glued on upside down and some are missing, Not being ungrateful or anything I love the doll. It just bothers me bc when I look at her eyes up close it looks un natural
