I really admire Jesse's constant effort to field Dodger's inexcusable apathy and create some entertaining content. There's a rule of improv (that I'm sure Jesse knows well) about always leading the conversation forward, and he demonstrates his ability to salvage a sinking ship very well in this video. Props to you, Jesse, keep up the good work! It's a shame that Dodger couldn't so much as feign a friendly attitude for the sake of the video. I mean, with TB already having dropped out, (hope he's doing well with the treatment), a second dropout would create a potentially more balanced league, with no need for a weekly bye. I would rather see an 8-team league than suffer through another minute of witnessing a skilled and entertaining content creator struggle to pick up the slack that their disinterested and obnoxious partner creates.

I think now both she and Jesse are just playing to have fun, and that's perfectly fine, this is video games we're talking about not pro sports. I'd much prefer to see them play badly and still have fun than trying to play it "properly" and being miserable, that's really not going to make for an entertaining video is it?

I find Game Dev Tycoon more boring than watching paint dry, but somehow Jesse managed to make a fairly entertaining series out of it. Dodger seems to find it much harder to "fake it" IMHO, and makes her own entertainment (like the song) when the game isn't doing it for her.

Jesse, about the camera issue, if your controller is plugged in, try adjusting the camera with it, if it isn't plugged in, plug it in and try anyway. Also, try setting the camera controls to controller and then switch it back to mouse and keyboard. Hope this helps.

Usually when something like that happens, it's some random key getting stuck. I've got that issue when I've accidentally pressed Alt sometimes. Not in Blood Bowl though, but I'm guessing it might something similar. Most of the time, you solve it by pressing the key that you assume got stuck.

Lol, Dodger was so happy go lucky this game, was pretty funny. Jesse, if you ever get any camera/movement issues in any video games always check to see if you have a controller plugged in. They cause SO many problems for SO many games and it always results in this kind of issue. Jesse - if you want people to not yell at you on the internet, just read up on how blocks, blocking assists and dodges work. It's actually pretty simple and would avoid a lot of the mistakes that infuriate your viewers.

The first thing you should try, in order to resolve issues with the screen of a game being funky, is to unplug any controllers/gamepads connected to your computer. Jesse's issue is usually caused by a controller being connected, apparently, could be different in his case though because... ya'know, he might not even have had a pad connected.

xandara75 He doesn't enjoy Blood Bowl and learns most of the basics when playing people like Crendor, Jesse, and Flax. Not a lot of people have the time to read a 60 page rulebook, and Jesse's motivation for joining was to pretty much have fun and kill Skittles. Crendor and Strippin learned it pretty quickly because this is their kind of game, and TB/Pflax grew up playing the game. Flax said he used to play Blood Bowl in the early days of LAN where the pieces were represented by ASCII.
shunkwugga I'm a dunce when it comes to strategic games, I only played BB2 for like a week after it came out, figured out the rules by playing. I think the game's visual cues are very clear and well designed. Overlapping tackle zones are color coded, when you go to block someone it tells you which players are contributing to and reducing your player's relative strength. It's all right there, if you spend more than a few seconds thinking about your moves, looking at the user interface, trying to understand what it's telling you, you can hardly avoid intuiting the rules. I get that there's a lot of other brain activity going on when you're recording a video, you aren't likely to sit there and do some quiet problem-solving, that's just not the mode you're in, but if either of them played the game on their own without the capture, just to practice a bit, spend a little bit of time thinking about how to play well, I know they'd figure it out real quick. But since they only play the game when they're making content they're literally dozens of hours in without having ever tried too hard to understand all the rules. It seems crazy. Self-defeating.

I love dodger, she's adorable and fun. Saying that, watching her BB2 videos is becoming more and more painful. I'm fine watching someone who sucks at the game - thats still fun to watch. Watching dodger play this with no effort and total disinterest game after game, now accompanied by annoying singing. This isn't fun, this isn't dodger's banter. It's just the sound of someone who doesn't want to be here anymore.

...if you're not enjoying the tournament, quit, there's nothing more boring than watching normally fun, bubbly people start acting inane because they're bored, it makes the audience bored as well, gave up ten minutes in on this because of that.
I honestly don't get WHY people like Jesse in the first tournament and now Dodger in the second don't just put up their hands and go "fuck it, I'm not interested, I'm out," and just walk away (infact didn't Jesse do just that in the first tournament and since he picked Halflings, who can blame him).
People have different standards of what they find entertaining, which is why some people found this funny and some found it annoying.

The first thing you should try, in order to resolve issues with the screen of a game being funky, is to unplug any controllers/gamepads connected to your computer.
Jesse's issue is usually caused by a controller being connected, apparently, could be different in his case though because... ya'know, he might not even have had a pad connected.

Jesse, quick note, if you run right next to someone and then pass, you only have to catch, the pass is an automatic success. So you probably should have done that instead of an actual pass at the end of the first half. Just to boost your chances.

+shunkwugga True but if he just reads the manual he would improve by a tenfold. It is kind of annoying to see people playing a game without knowing any of the rules. He plays games for a living so you could think he has at least some time to invest in getting even a little better at the games he plays.
xandara75 He doesn't enjoy Blood Bowl and learns most of the basics when playing people like Crendor, Jesse, and Flax. Not a lot of people have the time to read a 60 page rulebook, and Jesse's motivation for joining was to pretty much have fun and kill Skittles. Crendor and Strippin learned it pretty quickly because this is their kind of game, and TB/Pflax grew up playing the game. Flax said he used to play Blood Bowl in the early days of LAN where the pieces were represented by ASCII.

I'm a dunce when it comes to strategic games, I only played BB2 for like a week after it came out, figured out the rules by playing. I think the game's visual cues are very clear and well designed. Overlapping tackle zones are color coded, when you go to block someone it tells you which players are contributing to and reducing your player's relative strength. It's all right there, if you spend more than a few seconds thinking about your moves, looking at the user interface, trying to understand what it's telling you, you can hardly avoid intuiting the rules.
I get that there's a lot of other brain activity going on when you're recording a video, you aren't likely to sit there and do some quiet problem-solving, that's just not the mode you're in, but if either of them played the game on their own without the capture, just to practice a bit, spend a little bit of time thinking about how to play well, I know they'd figure it out real quick. But since they only play the game when they're making content they're literally dozens of hours in without having ever tried too hard to understand all the rules. It seems crazy. Self-defeating.

But most people do not have a job of playing video games :-/ and he can also google for basics of bloodbowl and find an A4 with all the important rules. It is because people like him that they want him to improve but he just refuses because it would cost him a little effort. He would probably enjoy the game a lot more if he put in that effort.
And this is why I watch all the Blood Bowl games. I like Crendor cause he wins, and I like these two cause they're bad. Keep being bad, Jesse!
