They're really beautiful names and meanings. Speaking of, Tadhg means: poet/ storyteller/philosopher, ( fitting). Each of the little ones names are character descriptions of gentleness and goodness, with old stories attached, and/ or maybe parents named them in honor of people they knew.
@@harimauindia5775Well, by a general search, there are a lot of real people with these names in the arts throughout Irish history. I'm limited in knowledge about the ancient myths, and can only go by the narrow scope online. One involved a druid, a woman turned into a deer, who was then helped by another druid to find a safe place to become human again, etc. It seems that the lesson might be that deer deserve compassion, and so do women. Offering sanctuary is important.

My great grandmother was full Irish and married into a family of mixed irish-english-scottish so called loyalists. They treated her and her kids terribly and basically disowned them when their son died. My grandmother married a British-Irish man and they fled to Canada partly to get away from his family who were not great people either. I’m learning Irish to reconnect with my matrilineal line. Thanks for sharing these names as it gave me a chance to practice my reading to pronounciation skills. I love that Irish is both phonetically consistent and full of very old knowledge (such as that you should address any old woman you encounter with respect because she might be An Cailleach). Being a settler on Unceded and stolen land, my heart yearns to be in right relationship with the land. I try my best to repair some of the damage my fathers father did here, but there is a part of me that wishes to go home to the parts of Europe that my family left and kick out the bastard nobility and restore the land to how it was before they cut down all the forests and displaced and broke us as people.
