I spent 40 years working in hospital, with side jobs related to that, to support my big family and provide adequate insurance for my medically fragile son. I retired in 2019 to my homestead. What a difference! I had both knees replaced, then life took off. I spent a lot of time doing something I love and being outside. Congratulations! You handle it all so well.
Way to go Tyler and family! It obviously takes you and your wife to accomplish this. Farming/ranching is HARD You and your wife do an awesome job putting together these videos. Not pretentious, not preachy, just showing the world what it takes to be a small farmer today! Still the very best farm TH-cam channel!!!!!!
When you get out of bed, and hear yourself saying, "Good Lord It's Morning" and not "Good Morning Lord" you need to make a change. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!
When watching your videos from the time you had a full time job and the farm responsibilities versus just having your farm responsibilities, you seem soooo much happier!!! I was so psyched for you and your family when you took that huge step to follow your dream and passion!!!
I closed the doors on my welding shop one year ago this month to run my farm full time. My thoughts mirror yours very closely. Best thing I've ever done! God put us here for this experience, it's up to us to make the most of it!
There was somebody out there needing a job when you left yours. You may have been happy to leave it to go down a new path, but the replacement wanted the old job, maybe just as much. A win-win situation in my opinion. I enjoy your positive, can-do attitude. Thanks to your whole family for adding to my quality of life.
So happy you followed your dream, you’re a natural and it’s very evident that you love it! So glad you’re taking us with you in your journey! God’s blessings to you and your family!❤❤
Tyler, you're fortunate to have such a steady and supportive wife. I loved hearing the story of how she held your dreams in her heart until you were ready to claim them for yourself. I'm pretty sure that's just how marriage was meant to be. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations to you and your wife on your 1 years as a self employed rancher. My saying is "You do you" because you're the only one who knows you the best. Mrs Tyler Ranch has also been your most influential person in your life and maybe Grandpa had given you many inspiring words as well when you were helping him on the farm. Keep up the great work Farmer Tyler and you will see even more rewards, I'm sure. I believe all of us were just inspired by this video. Your fan from Cape Cod, Ma.
I was SO glad you took that step as I watched your videos over the years. You appear much happier and content now. Plus, you're not rushing to get things done. Congrats on making your dream come true. Grandpa would be proud of how you managed his ranch.
Tyler, I am happy to know that I have been able to help your dream come true. While I do not know you personally, in the time I have followed your channel, among the things I have learned about you, I know you are sincere and honest. Those things cannot be faked. You do not put on a show to earn “clicks and likes”. You simply demonstrate hard-work and your love for your job, your land, your animals, your family, and your country 🇺🇸. KUDOS
Bruh..... Congrats and wishing you lots of success to you, the family and the cows..lol. It's a blast watching your videos. I have to thank Pete over at Just a few Acres. His channel lead me over to your channel.
It’s so great to see all that you have accomplished in this last year!! I don’t think you are bragging at all - You are truly blessed and have every right to share your joy with all of us!! Thanks for doing what you do. I enjoy your videos very much!
This is the second time I’ve watched this video and I am more impressed than last time. You are a good man who is following your dream to live a beautiful fulfilling life. Blessings to you and your family!
Buddy is such a good ole feller!❤ I always thought your former job might have been a Shop teacher for vocational school because you are so good at welding and machining. I'm sure Mrs. Tyler and the babies have definitely enjoyed having you home 24/7! Plus Calli would be lost if she couldn't hang out with you farming all day! I love your channel, always have for the 2 or 3 yrs I've followed you. Have a blessed Easter Sunday with your family!
Good Morning Farmer Tyler Ranch and all others too😊 great job on the animals and farm hope everyone have a bless day thanks for sharing❤❤see you 😊next time on Farmer Tyler Ranch❤❤
I have watched you from almost the beginning. I knew even then that you wanted to be a farmer. I am so glad your dream has come true. Your wife needs to be commended too, she believes in you and wants you to be happy in your life. This old lady is very happy for all of you!
My grandfather always told me that every decision you make means you have one less decision, until the point where you have no decisions, you are locked in. If one objectively views life that is absolutely true. Some think that no decision isn’t a decision, but it is. You seem to be on the course that make your life enjoyable and productive!
I watch every video, I’m not a farmer nor do I have farming in my family! You are an inspiration, your work ethic is immense! I love the way you just get on with things, you need something, you make it or do it! If more of the youngsters coming through life now had your way of thinking, boy wouldn’t the world be different! Looking forward to your next year! 😊
Being self employed is the hardest job you'll ever have that's for darn sure. Congratulations on your success....and many more years to come. Blessings.....
You’re doing a great job and I admire your dedication and drive. Your wife deserves kudos too for being the helpmate you deserve. Keep up the good work and the super awesome videos!
It has been so inspiring to watch you bring this ranch together! The projects you have done to fix and improve things goes beyond doing what you have to do just to get by. Not only are you improving the ranch but you keep things neat and clean! I was raised on a farm in Ohio and I know it is possible to keep things in order and still move forward! Good job!
Congratulations TFR you did what needed to be done...It's hard at first but you can see in you that u enjoy what your doing and you made the right decision. Your family stands behind you 100%. You are making yourself live what you love so much to do...your a good farmer and just keep doing what ur doing. Proud of you and your family. Great videos.
It's so fun to watch you follow your dreams of working for yourself and spending more time with the family! You are such a hard worker (but you make it look easy), and you're so talented at anything you do. Being able to apply your skills and talents to doing what you love is a joy to see. I'm so happy for you and your family that this came to fruition!
U are dead right. If u don’t like your life u are the only one who can change it. I was faced with that challenge some years ago & I went for it & have never regretted it. I’m glad it’s working out for u 😁
I’m just so happy for you and your family Tyler. I’ve been a fan from almost the beginning of the channel and it’s great to see things changing and evolving and all of the great successes! You work so hard. Farming/ranching is a big job and you make it look easy. I look forward to your videos each week! Many blessings to you and your sweet family!
Good, honest from the heart post. I don't think there are very many FTR followers who ever doubted you!! Congratulations on your first year anniversary!
Words of wisdom from a young man. Yes, do what you want while you can, if you can. Life is short and yes, things can go wrong. Hang in there, you're doing good. Always enjoy your videos. The best to your family.
I’m glad for you. Not everyone can do what your doing. How do you manage retirement, medical coverage and if you become sick, who does yours chores? I think you know where I’m coming from. I’m retired and closing my business. My wife is younger than me so she still is working and our medical which is our biggest expense. It seems I’m working harder than running my business but as you said it’s harder but easier because it’s for me!
You'll make it just fine, it's very obvious just watching and listening to you it's very apparent you suffer from the same mind set a bunch of us have and that is an absolute bone chilling terrifying fear of failure. Not that many people have that fear. I bought my first road tractor in 1974, can't tell you how many people told me I was making a huge mistake,7 trucks ,44 years and a little over 4 million miles later I retired and while not a millionaire we retired very comfortably. Was it a bed of roses? Not by a long shot, but as long as you have that fear of failure you'll be fine.
Happy Easter weekend, Tyler and family !! Thank you for sharing your background and how you quit your 8 - 5 job to become a full-time rancher !! Those life-changing decisions are not always easy. For me it was should we leave the country we were born in (Rhodesia) and move to America which was a long way away from Africa, where we were born. The fact that Rhodesia was going to become Zimbabwe and be a Socialist/Communist country certainly helped make our decision !! So, I sorta know what it was like for you !! We've lived here in San Diego now for 44 years !! Now retired after becoming proud US citizens back 🔙 in 1983. In my retirement I spend some of my time following TH-camrs and the many interesting topics that are presented. We love your channel and enjoy watching life here in CA and your busy lifestyle !! To see your daily "chores" on the Ranch, your family and the challenges that come up from time-to-time. You are certainly a hard-working man and it amazes me what ALL you do and single- handedly at that !! Good job, Tyler and may God continue His Blessings on you and your family !!
Happy for you Tyler, glad you are happier and more fulfilled now that you are working for yourself and your family. Speaking as a guy who burnt the candle from both ends, keep making time for your family.
Another great video 😁 I know that I found your channel from another channel I follow. Country View Acres. I'm so happy I took his advice 👍 Have a fantastic weekend
So happy that you are reaping the benefits & rewards of doing what you have always dreamed! Not very many people can say that if their lives. Much happiness to you. Additionally, your encouragement of making a big change in life rings true. Keep up the excellent work and enjoy your life & family. Meanwhile, I will keep watching 😊.
I watched and listened intently to the discussion and philosophy your living by day today. Towards the end my jaw dropped open when I saw how little feed hay was left. And then I noticed you need some gravel down where you jackknife your trailer into the unloading pen. Good video. Good stuff, Thanks.
So very glad this life change has worked for you. Your family is only with you for a short time and every moment spent with them is worth it. Have a Blessed Easter.
Well Tyler you did a great Job as a Farmer, your Awesome @ Everything you do 4-8-2023👍🏽👍🏽, there is a Plan because you take good Care of God’s Animals your Wife I am sure is Proud of you because you have each other and Family❤
So ver glad Chad from Adler farms mentioned you. So I’m fairly new to watching utube channels but have really enjoyed your. Cause I can so relate as grew up on the Oregon coast on a dairy farm then it went to a beef ranch. Now live in Northern California with only chickens. Thanks for sharing. Your past and your current life.
Hello Mr Tyler 👋🏼 as you can see by the comments were all glad you made the right decision to farm and you seem so happy at it☺️👍🏼 we're your TH-cam Family we enjoy watching all that you do. Standing next to every good man is a smart woman that encourages him to follow his dreams. Kudos to Mrs FTR😃👍🏼🎉. I like watching the cows 🐄 and Callie she's a beautiful dog Callie has fans to🤗💕 My best to you Mr Tyler Happy Easter to you and your Family🐰🥚💐
I've been following you almost since you started here on TH-cam and you're one of the calmest and most humble people I follow. Everything you do and did in your videos has been meaningful and worth watching. Good luck in the future, I look forward to following you for many years to come. ❤
It's not like you quit working, you just quit working for someone else. I'm glad to hear than you had the support, and encourage of your wife to take the leap. I did wonder how you were working all of those hours and recording for TH-cam and editing. There couldn't have been many hours left for family and sleep. It's great that you have more time with them now.
A great video. You have a wonderful attitude about life. Your videos have indeed gotten better since you retired, and I get a vicarious satisfaction watching the improvements and changes you are making to the ranch. You also confirm what the support, encouragement, and love, a good woman can do in a man's life. With them behind us, anything is possible.
I applaud your success in doing what you’ve always wanted to do. Should YT revenue dry up for whatever reason, your skill set can be used to continue on. I really can’t think of anything you can’t fix and that’s a real gift. Keep up the good work.
So hard to believe that it has been a year of you entertaining us three times a week!! You will continue to succeed as you and Mrs FTR are happy with your “station” in life, congratulations on the best decision of your life…now, onward🤓
On my granddad’s farm there were always several income streams from hay sales, the chicken and eggs in one shed, car repair in another shed, share cropping out ground, renting out space to an independent farrier, to renting barn space to a horse trainer. As much as you love ranching, I suspect that you also don’t have all your eggs in one farm basket. Your welding and metal fabricating skills are impressive. Several streams of income in the background are much more likely. May you and your family have a peaceful and joyous Easter
I know several farmers in our area who keep a steady job just for the insurance benefits, them or their wives that is..... That's a great benefit that saves them a lot of money.
You are great person and your example of choice is very inspiring. Always comparing your farm with mine to some people this can be boring-sorry. Also quit my permanent job and replace it for a sesonal(this is my way of making good life for me,my wife and my kids),the reason is that after those 5-6months of very hard work I can rest not working at all,but I do work,on my farm, taking my kids around, feeding pigs and calves(steers) with them, growing chicks and turkeys, teaching them a real life, trying to show them alternative. We do grow a lot of fruit as well and we do employ people in different stages of our production. It is not easy and it is very responsible and you have to be dedicated to it,but it gives you that sence of freedom. Lost logic is way do you work 12-13h a day thrue the season when you can be at home all year around..?,Because in my country it is not possible to Save money for Fresh start and I with my better half decide that I need to provide some secure income. Long story I know...
FTR you are an inspiration to many of us. May the good lord continue to bless you and your family as you continue to entertain us with this premium quality of content.
My dear mother had a saying, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained!” and it certainly helped me overcome my fears and make decisions when I wanted to try something different. I think you have gained a lot from your decision to ranch full time, be your own boss. I see that your new lifestyle is working out well for you… can tell by the sparkle in your eye when you share the projects you have planned and execute! Definitely a work in progress…trial and error, and learning and hard work, but you thrive in it! I am so happy for you! Thank you for sharing your insights, practical and meaningful ones, very helpful to others considering making the transition. You are a lucky man to have such a wise and supportive wife! 👩🏼🌾Mrs FT you ROCK! We love to see the family in your videos and of course, your doggie Callie, aka the supervisor! Looking forward to more adventures and videos from Farmer Tyler Ranch. Stay well and safe! Happy Easter🌷🐰🎶 from southern Ontario, Canada🇨🇦
Loved this video. Because of your expertise at welding, I guessed your prior job was as a welder. Wow! was I wrong. I love animals and farming. I loved being a nurse, So I did both at one time. When I had Nurse burnout I bought a little donut shop, loved that till my product began making me sick (gluten sensitivity) Went back to Nursing, realized how much I missed it and worked till I turned 70!
Very happy for you Tyler!
"Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life."
I'm very happy for you and your family.
@My Cancer Journey let me know what your channel is named. I'd really like to look it up. I'm fighting ovarian cancer as well.
Very happy for you!
Deffinetly in my top 3 farming channels to watch...Just a few acres Farms and Farming with Duffy AG are my other top 3 farming channels.
Well said 🇨🇦😊
Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your channel a lot and am sure you and your family will be just fine. Life is short, ride hard.
Hope you always remain healthy and avoid injury.
Kudos to Mrs Farmer Tyler Ranch for encouraging you to follow your dreams.
Good Job!
"It took me a little longer to believe in myself." I'm glad you did. It has been a pleasure to be invited on your journey.
The “Pig Barn,” the 4-wheeler, and daily grazing rotation. And, the start of the old tractor rehab.
@My Cancer Journey I wish you great success with your treatment and your personal goals.
Absolutely happy for the family!

Tyler, I am happy to know that I have been able to help your dream come true. You do not put on a show to earn “clicks and likes”. You simply demonstrate hard-work and your love for your job, your land, your animals, your family, and your country 🇺🇸. KUDOS
One of my favorite channels. You are wise beyond your years.
Bruh..... Congrats and wishing you lots of success to you, the family and the cows..lol. It's a blast watching your videos. I have to thank Pete over at Just a few Acres. His channel lead me over to your channel.
Clearly, this was the right decision for you and your family, Tyler. Here's to a lifetime of meaningful work and great memories.
Since you have dedicated more time to the farm and TH-cam, it has been obvious and more enjoyable to watch

The episode one year ago when you quit your job was the 1st one I watched. I haven’t missed one since.
So happy for you guys 🥳👍 and you’re smart renovating the old equipment, not getting yourself into massive debt.

I am so glad that working on the ranch worked out for you, Tyler!
Ty Farmer Tyler, I've decided to raise a few chickens in my backyard. I want to start with 2 to 4. Ty for the help.
So hard to believe that it has been a year of you entertaining us three times a week!! You will continue to succeed as you and Mrs FTR are happy with your “station” in life, congratulations on the best decision of your life…now, onward🤓
Thanks!
Congrats again FTR!!! I don't know how you accomplish those tasks alone, but well done!
Thank you for the awesome video. And we'll see you on the next one.
Awesome to hear your decision to dedicate yourself to the ranch full time is working out. I hope that I can reach that point myself. 👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🤘🏻🤘🏻
Man you have them Cat like reflexes when closing the trailer gate after the last steer went in. FT may you and the family have a Happy Easter!!
Its a great thing when dreams become reality. Living the dream. Keep up the great videos.
You might consider feeding a "treat" pellet feed 1 to 2 weeks before loading out of your winter pasture. The cows may look forward to loading.
Here in the UK old job title would be,Weights and Measures Inspector....can you imagine not checking what quantity you were being sold..mayhem!
Congratulations, Tyler. So glad to see you happy with your decision. I don't think you will ever regret it. God bless.

Don;t forget to take you and your family to church and thank the One who blessed you with everything.
I can see a even larger ranch in your future...
