I'm new to living off grid and I won't lie, that first few months I was forever listing all the things I was missing....it was exhausting and not the experience I was intending. I turned it around and started giving thanks and gratitude for what we did have. It's made this experience so much more enjoyable. This has been just one of the many of the 'ah ha' moment's for me. I'm 53, post menopausal, and just now discovering what I'm really made of 🥰
I so needed this. I'm 57, have an amputee 31 year old son that lives with me, my husband of 12 years up and left me. Struggling to pay the mortgage and electric right now and I know down the road I will end up loosing the farm. But right now I am grateful for a roof over our heads still. I can't get anyone to clean my pipes to the wood Cook stove till after Thanksgiving, so I bought a few small electric heaters and praying they keep us warm as the cold is settling in here in Ohio. I'm having to work 7 days a week, I work with the elderly and am Thankful I can still do things that my people so struggle with daily...God will see us through this I know, and in the meantime, he sends people in our paths ( like you tonight), to remind me He is in control. Thank you for sharing. God bless
Golly. Only reading this 3 months later but I really feel for you. Keep your chin up. If you love what Lea shares you are on the right path. God first!! He is all and more!!! Being there for your son in his affliction shows what you are made of. We never cease being Mum, do we. And what a blessing that is. I pray the means have come to pay the big bills. I know how that is. But He is faithful. I haven't lost my home yet. I feel like I know you personally even though I'm 71 and in Australia. But certain things can connect us. God bless and keep you.💕
I’ve been practicing listing a handful of things that I’m grateful every morning and let me tell you, it has elevated my prayer time and has been so sweet to see what God reveals to my heart. I’m definitely thankful for you and your lovely channel!! 🧡🍁
Thank you for the reminder of gratitude. After a health crisis that lasted for two years and I am continuing to heal from and journey through, the sudden loss of my grandfather last year, and my mother diagnosed with a rare cancer in June, I realize what a beautiful thing that health and family is. It truly is what makes you rich. It's not things or money. I think we're taught so much from society that items and riches make you happy and gives you value, but life is so much more. I think my first moment of clarity was the day my grandfather died. He had already passed on the way to the hospital, but I was called to see him one last time as his wishes were for no funeral. I held him, hugged him, kissed his forehead and smoothed his hair. And when I came home I looked around as I walked through the door and just saw how everything else, every item, though I'm grateful for... Is ultimately useless. I tore out trash bags and boxes and combed through the entire house. Over the next several months I donated trucks upon trucks of items. I still think of my grandfather every single day. I look at my mother differently as she battles cancer. I hold hands with the people at radiation who are so scared. I hold my children more tenderly. And I just can't stop staring at my husband. I admire and love him so deeply. All this to say, that I still need the reminders... especially during inflation and when a dollar just does not stretch as far as it used to. Especially when it's needed during birthdays and the holidays. You are such a joy to watch and listen to. God bless and keep you.
Hi Lea Grannie Cyndy from South Australia here. Once again delighting in the peace and artistry of your videos. You can remind even old me that every part of creation is a blessing to be thankful for. To not love and appreciate everything in our reach is tantamount to dishonoring Him. It doesn't matter if it's a precious son, daughter in law or grandchild, big fluffy Newfoundland dog, chickens or a beautiful fairy wren, apples, pears and kiwi fruit to nourish us in, for us here in Australia, the Winter months, there is so much to be thankful for. Our little 1/3 acre block in a 20 year old subdivision in the hills is a food forest. God blesses us abundantly every day. Thankyou so much for your incredible content and lovely spirit of peacefulness and Godliness. 💖
So many of us forget to count our blessings until Thanksgiving rolls around. I am so grateful to the Lord for everything I have, and am trying to thank him every day. I always find a brand new blessing every day.
That piece you read was beautiful and eye opening. I should keep my gratitude journal again and be more intentionally grateful for the things I have been given by the Lord.
Lea, you have been on my heart all weekend and I was excited when I logged onto my computer today to see that you just posted this new video. You are in my written prayer list and I pray for your health and I wanted to thank you for continuing to post uplifting videos that give God the glory and remind us of HIM. Love in Christ, Dorothy
Good Wednesday morning Little House on the Mountain. What can I say? These videos just keep getting better and better - with inspiring and heartfelt content. But of course that's to be expected from a strong self sufficient offgrid woman such as yourself. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. 😎😎😊😊🌼🌻🌻
Beautiful and cozy....got the leftover roast and veggie soup on the stove. The wind is blowing the wind chimes and the sun is shining brightly. Thoughts of Thanksgiving are on my mind and heart. As a full time caregiver to my mother who lives with us...I'm so thankful we still have her with us for now. May not next year or even next month but will enjoy the time for now. Have a blessed week. Shalom and Blessings
Amen. Thank you for sharing. I, too, am a big fan of Laura Ingles Wilder. I have no idea how many times I’ve read her Little House books. Or to whom I read them most - my children, or myself!
Grateful to Yahweh for this call to contentment with His blessings, rather than coveting another life in a different time, place or position. Thank you, sis!
I so love this channel - such a lovely mix of being visually pleasing and gentle and scriptures etc.. - and this was a reminder to me to fall in love with what youve already got - needed to hear that - so wish I could live rural like you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I love November. This is the time to slow down after the summer madness. When warm cozy evenings are ideal for spending time with loved ones. And also time for warm memories and gratitude🍂
We have a season of sickness here at our small farm... I just keep reminding myself " yet while you slay me... I will still praise you. I had all my gastro things, then Chris's detached retina... and now I have Covid.... thankful the Lord all might Yah, knows this.... pray for me dear sister. as I pray for you... with much love, prayers and Thanksgiving we are cleansed from our past by his stripes.... ~ Lea
Truly I have found that comparing myself to others has caused discontent as well as wanting what is Not mine. Abba in His Goodness has been chastening me and bringing me to the joy of being grateful with all I have and teaching me to be creative 😊 Thank you for sharing the simple yet profound Beauty of having a heart of thanksgiving. With Love and Shalom in our Messiah!
Every time I watch your videos it makes me repent for not being more grateful for my Lord and savior. I need to do better. You are such an inspiration ✨️
I am thankful for you, Lea. Slower living is a choice. We take on too many tasks that I don't think Our Lord intended us to. Creates unnecessary anxiety and puts a toil on our physical, mental and spiritual health.
Hi Lea! I am too stingy with leaving words of thanks where they are due! Just want to let you know that for years I have found your videos a true source of encouragement (at times, needed reproof) and comfort! More often than not they come with just the words I need for that moment. You are a blessing sister!
That was so beautifully said Lea …. I’ve been contemplating the value of gratitude a lot lately and am constantly being nudged with thoughts on the dangers of covetousness and how easily it can beset us because of social media and our seeing how other people’s lives are being presented to us. Bless you sister for always speaking up in such a gentle manner. 🤗
Thank you Lea! Beautifully spoken. Grateful to our Abba God for all the blessings He has given, especially His Son our saviour! Contentment is a wonderful feeling in one's life. The world makes it seem that we need things. But then one is forever chasing the next best thing and never is content. When what we have now in this moment is such a blessing from our God. Thank you for a lovely video and reminder of gratitude. May God bless you and James.🙏🙏💗🍁🍂
Beautiful 🥰 May God The Father continue shower down His blessings to you and Family through this season and beyond! Is my prayer for you today in Jesus name Amen!❤️
This was a lovely video Lea. Sometimes we do need reminding to be grateful, just to be alive is such a gift, we all take so much for granted. Thank you Lea for a good reminder to appreciate our being and to thank the Lord for everything we are and have.
I can’t thank you enough for doing these videos. I live about 40mi outside a VERY BUSY CITY. I have consciously decided to begin to live a slower life due to an autoimmune disease. Not only am I enjoying life more, my body has also responded and the flare I have been in is beginning to ease up…..as well as the busyness of my mind keeping me awake at night. I pray Gods richest blessings over you and your family.
Hi Lea, Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. One of the things or should I say two, that I give thanks to the Lord for is waking me up with relatively good health and a sound mind, a mind to give thanks and praise to Him. For not everyone is of soundness of mind and relatively good health and so I praise Him for that. I pray His continual blessing be upon you, James & the pups! God is so good and His mercy endures forever!
Lea, Thank-you for sharing these thoughts. When teaching His disciples to pray, Jesus, expressed that we are to ask only for our "daily" bread. In our world, contentment and gratitude and thanksgiving are forgotten. I agree, social media has influenced covetousness and greed. We all need to praise God for the many blessings He gives to us daily.
Thank you Le for your videos. I know that you cannot upload videos everyday, but, each of your video is truly uplifting and inspirational. I missed the serenity and peacefulness of where I grew up. Currently, we are in the Bay Area where life seemingly feels busy everyday. But, thankful to God for all the big and little things.. We have chickens too. 🐔😳

I have a pair of cotton linen overalls for summer but other than that I always wear dresses, skirts, or tunics. Women exclusively wore dresses and skirts all through history until very recent decades and did much harder work in them than we can imagine today. I figure if they could do It, then I certainly can. I think it just seems odd or challenging because we aren't used to it today but once I adjusted, I can do everything in dresses and I'm perfectly comfortable. I wear soft leggings underneath and aprons over top. I have no problems throughout the day doing any of my chores.

I think it just seems odd or challenging because we aren't used to it today but once I adjusted, I can do everything in dresses and I'm perfectly comfortable. I wear soft leggings underneath and aprons over top. I have no problems throughout the day doing any of my chores.
I don't know why, but this is the first video of yours to show up on my feed in some time. I've missed these calming videos so much 💓
So glad to have you here again. Our videos were being suppressed by TH-cam the past few months for some reason
I love your videos. They make me feel like my work is worthwhile. Thank you for your channel.
