@@micahheyward5342 I mean it can be viewed as optional since it doesn’t unlock until you done everything else the game has to offer but good catch.
I wonder if nico knows that the levels that couldn't be beat are 100% optional as every level in each special world is optional until special 8 where they're all mandatory.

S3-2 and S6-4 are similar to S8-5 because they all contain spinning PLATFORMS, not blocks. This doesn't account for the other ones that are actually unavoidable because they spawn from being hit in a similar fashion as those found in World 2 of NSMB on DS.
Mariowiki literally calls them rotating blocks

Didn't he call those spinning colorful ones "plarforms" and not count them, in the last SML challenge? (Also, he avoid "beat blocks", but they are the same as the non beepoing ones in between them, which he doesn't consider "blocks").

Super Mario 3D land is in my top 3 favorite mario games of all time, and I get sad when I think about it because back when I first got my 3ds, and the game along with it, was back in the best years of my childhood.

Donut Blocks reappear in Super Mario 3D Land. However, in this game, once landed on, they immediately fall down slowly and disappear below the stage, then reappear briefly afterwards. A rock variation exists, and it has the same effect.

Hold on though, in the special worlds you don't have to complete every level (except for the boss stages) so in theory, yes it is possible

If you die in the same level too many times in Mario 3d land, the game lets you skip it entirely, with some exceptions.
The P-Wing or White Tanooki Leaf doesn't appear in the Special Worlds, unfortunately.

I was going to correct you by saying you can actually get past all of them using Streetpass to get you the needed Star coins and the fact that Special worlds 1 to 7 allow you to skip but I completely forgot about that special level at the end

You're right, meaning special worlds 2, 3, and 6 are possible without touching a block. Special World 8 is still impossible though
