- This is the S.T. Dupont line 2. It's a butane lighter with a flint ignition. The first thing in the box is the lighter, of course. To operate, open the lid and strike the bar. I've been testing this lighter everyday for the past year and its worked 100% of the time. Also in the box, a certificate or authenticity, model number, and here is the owners manual. It is highly recommended that you use only dupont flints and dupont butane. To refill, start by opening the fuel cap at the base of the lighter. The yellow paint on the inside of the cap indicates to use a gold or yellow refill. Put the lighter in the freezer for 30 minutes and I warm the canister in my hand while its freezing. When the lighter is as cold as possible, bleed the tank, make sure there is no air left in the tank. When the canister is as warm as possible, and the lighter as cold as possible, screw in the refill until you feel it tightening and let off. Now it's filled. To adjust the flame, use the knob of the base of the lighter. I like to keep mine on a small flame, so the gas will last longer. Each refill will lt about 6 weeks. And I change the flint every 2 refills. I use a leather case also by s.t. Dupont. I got it separately for 240. I will do a review on the case next. Thank you and please subscribe.
I bought one of this thing right now about 400 euro, I love the locking sound :)
How can you fill from a can using the brass adaptor? I need a video on that !
i lost the flame cap and i need another one
and can you sent me link to get another one i dont wanna spend more then $300
omg that locking sound
Thanks for all this nice videos you have put out. I was thinking of buying a S.T. Dupont lighter. It is an Bugatti and suposed to be verry rare. When you turn the flint wheel on it, first then the gas comes out. Have you heard about this one? Cant find any information about it. He wants $300.00. Its new with an original pouch, not the box. Let me know what you think. Regards from Norway.
It does have a ping sound. It's not a big clang sound, though the ping is more pronounced/ringing on the all-metal models than on the metal/lacquer ones..I guess because the lacquer deadens to some extent the sound-travel through the lighter body. Heh, I've often wondered why one of mine wasn't as loud as the other and think I just answered my own question - but I have to thank you for your question that led to it :)
My old lacquer model makes more of a thud and deep ping. Think if a thud and it echoes the ping. That’s the best I can describe it and it’s much more traditional in how it sounds. The ping is now a marketing ploy so some models are enhanced with the ping. These non-lacquer models may ping louder and sharper but it doesn’t sound right to me.
That is correct. Very well said.
Freeze the lighter? Never ever done that and had zero problems from mine. I don't warm the fluid either. I just purge and refill. Maybe this is just a ceremony you like to do? Ild be curious to listen to your rationale.
Yes. its the best way to refill the lighter.
That also says on the Dupongas
there are no available Du Pont shop in our country. can i use the ordinary butane? thanks.
I wish it was that easy. I struggle to refill
you should bleed the tank before you freeze it. otherwise, it will intake air.
Thank you, great suggestion.
what kind of liquid do you use .. i tried using gas but didn't work XD i need this material whats it called :D
+LOL 24/7 XD what liquid? The fuel is butane.
ok do you know any good way to buy it cheap and ships global im in SA ^^
as whole where is the flame?
will a common butane refiller work with the valve?
lelaki88 Why would you want to even try that? Using anything other than S.T. Dupont refills will void your warranty and could damage the lighter. You paid good money to have the best lighter in the world, it makes sense to use the appropriate butane.
why wouldn't you? lol
anyway, on further research, it's actually ok to use 3rd party butane gas. Dupont itself confirms it. as long as you get the refined one.
and you can get an adapter on ebay for that matter.
you're welcome. ;)
Yes, you can save a lot of money buy buying some butane like iolite which is probably better or exactly what dupont fluid is...there is a plastic adapter on the cap for the ligne 2. cheers
Why doesn't it have that ping sound?
Fuck me, are you sleeping with that lighter?

Its totally very wrong way to refill any lighters using deep freeze or make it cold.. making lighters very cold is damaging all o rings and causing lake .. its refill very fast about les than 1 minuet without unnecessary making it cold or warm..
It's not harmful for the o rings
