@@user12289 totally agree and understand that! I am all for complex female characters but it was so refreshing to see a more gracious side to her and for her to lose it was still sad to see in many ways. The writing behind her character this season was fantastic nonetheless

I felt so sorry for cressida when her mom tells her she's not clever enough to make the ton believe she's whistledown, that's gotta hurt. But she was kinda right. Her self-written opening was weak at best, she didn't even remember the "dearest gentle reader" but just dear reader, like girl didn't even keep the staple greeting? 😂
Usually I would get mad when someone in this movie tells a woman they aren't smart or something like that but Cressida kind of deserved those words being told to her.
Yes, she made awful choices, but only because she was cornered. She was raised this way, it’s all she knows. She’s literally been abused by both her parents since childhood as evident by this season. Not to mention she’s a woman with no choice in life. She was being forced to marry an elderly, cruel man who wanted her to have many of her children like a machine. Not to mention, he wanted to keep her locked up at home with no access to people, music, etc. She would be raped every day of her marriage. I wish people had more compassion for her. What she did wasn’t right, but she did it out of sheer desperation and fear. It’s society’s game that has made some of these women make bad decisions. It’s the women that always suffer, not the men. And we saw in her this season an attempt at good. She has it in her, it’s life that has crushed it out of her.
Because of the people that Lady Whistledown hurt in her columns? She started so many scandals for Colin's loved ones, almost destroyed all their reputations more than once, and back then, reputations were everything. Of course he didn't like Whistledown and that's why he's so betrayed/hurt to know it was Pen all along.
Lady Whistledown is a scandal sheet with a lot of coverage and exposure amongst the ton, so airing someone out in Lady Whistledown is something quite different from doing it in confidence among friends. But Penelope hadn't realised just how powerful her scandal sheet had gotten, and she's often ruled by her emotions - note the "burn book" style rants she writes as Whistledown immediately after she's hurt by someone, such as when she overheard Colin saying he would "never ever court Penelope Featherington" to his sleazy mates. I think it's safe to assume we've all done at least one thing in the heat of raw emotion that we come to regret afterward, especially if that thing has unforeseen consequences, just because emotion can pretty much blind some people. All that said, Colin is right to be furious with Penelope. She didnt have the heart to tell him this huge secret that has almost ruined the Bridgertons' reputation at least once, so he was forced to find out this secret by sheer coincidence. Obviously it would be immensely difficult to confess to being the one who almost ruined the family, especially for someone as quiet as Penelope, but it would have been far better to tell him straight up than to say nothing and let him just stumble upon it.
hopefully this second round of someone saying the exact same thing (almost verbatim actually) will snap her out of it. hopefully it'll be a slow process though, couple of aspects of season 3 seemed rushed for what they were covering
6:17 no bcs i felt the same. they deserve better writing, more love/intimate scene that equivalent with angry/angst scenes and pls bring back the old showrunner... they did my fav couple dirty this season with numerous unnecessary subplots

As usual, your edits had me on the floor crying with laughter!!!😂 Also, OMG, Yasssss, LORD WHISTLEDOWN, loved that edit. ❤ And yes Colin, Luke, definately HOT, lol😅
@@user12289 She treated Penelope horribly just because she could, and while she does improve with Eloise and her home life is pretty shitty, it's hard to feel sympathy whenever it looks like she's just backslid. She 100% deserves a better home life, so that she can finally learn how to truly be a good person. But when we already have a sour taste in our mouths from seeing her introduction as the mean girl archetype, it's difficult to wash that taste out - so when she stumbles in her redemption it's harder to say "obviously she's having a tough time reinventing herself" than the default of "welp she's back on her bullshit again"
Someone please help me find the original video of the two chicks dying laughing after the part in this edit where Cressida is being read by her mother for her "cleverness"😂
For some weird annoying reason, I could not watch episode 6.... And I said in my heart that "Serwaa Ray will cover it for me" and giiiirrrll did you cover it up for me nicely❤ the way I ran as soon as I got the notification 😂😂 I am still going to try to watch this episode in full cus honeeeeyy, Imagine my shock when episode 7 played and it was Colin finding out(PS I read the book, but I also enjoy the visuals and random changes to the actual story except Francesca and Michaela) Eagerly awaiting the other edits 😊😊😊😊
for me it's colin specifically that icks me. bro was a countryhopping playboy for most of the series, regularly going to the brothel and having 3s, but then one kiss from his bestie had him on his KNEES.
People making fun of Cressida being "not clever" is so insensitive lol you do know that in the 1800s women aren't allowed to have any education right? istg
i like to make fun of her for not thinking things through properly, but while she's also not the most _actually intelligent,_ i agree with you, that one's a product of her time rather than her own inability.
Lowkey kind of a crime that you didn’t include John saying ‘I am ill with the plague and you’re all gonna die by association’ CRACKED ME UP

Finally ... someone talking about lady featherington lurking while they were talking 😂
First time ever that Colin and Penelope are chaperoned, and they have no idea what to do 😳😂 also it’s a bit late Portia she’s already pregnant
"You have many gifts but cleverness isn't one of them" - even Portia Featherington didn't say such things to her daughters
Perfect timing!!! Snuggled in my sheets. Cressida I had started feeling bad for but god damn it she just reverts back and im just smh 🤦🏽♀️
Fr…you like her one time and she f*ks up the next minute
But what other choice did she have? She didn't go back to her old ways and has actually remorse for her actions and for betraying Eloise..

How can Colin say he hates Lady Whistledown when all he and Pen been doing is gossiping for 3 seasons
