5 Cheap Cars Slay Tail of The Dragon // Winter Beater Challenge

- Winter was over, but the boys weren’t done with the winter beaters quite yet. They decided to drive their 5 cheap Euro cars on one of America’s favorite curvy roads. Tail of the Dragon is a technical road meant for cars with good handling; it's not exactly a perfect match for the beaters. Parts were broken, tires squealed, and smiles were had. UPDATE: Kevin's Audi 200 has been totaled out sadly, but thankfully everyone involved in the crash is doing okay to our knowledge. Kevin was sitting at a stop sign when two other vehicles got in a collision, sending a big ol' SUV right into the side of the 200. Hours of work wrenching vanished in mere seconds, but at least the car made it through the Ohio winter start to finish. We're going to be starting a new summer video series soon so stay tuned for some interesting builds and new content!

@Xavias Ellious 1. gen (8PA) and 2. gen (8VA) Audi RS3 are 5cyl according to the German Wikipedia Page. And the TTRS (FV) seems to have the same engine.

Merc is where its at good ole reliable 5 cylinder turbo diesel with ageless looks and class.. But a damn shame about that audi such a cool car not something you can really daily drive but still would own that car in a heart beat!

All 5 cars are pretty nice. They all have the classic car/bygone era vibes & flavor. Beautiful scenery with the mountain twisties. Soo sad to see the Audi end like that...glad the driver is ok. That Audi sounded mean & awesome

The Audi had to be the best sounding beater of the bunch , but it was sad to see it become an automotive fatality. Glad nobody was seriously hurt especially where the impact was.

I think it's really cool to see a couple of Euro station wagons counted as winter beaters I have a 98 Volvo V70 as mine and I don't think station wagons get the appreciation or recognition they deserve these days everybody's all about the SUV and a lot of them are just station wagons with a more rounded hatch sure they might set up a little bit higher but I don't consider that a good thing around corners my summer or commuter car is a 2006 VW GTI Golf and I'm loving it so far

When you are torquing the wheel stud bolts down, why would you tighten the first two right next to each other?!
My 9 year old knows that you always tighten the next bolt exactly opposite to the one you just tightened...

Super bummed out to see that Avant get hammered like that. Nothing beats that I5 turbo sound...except maybe a 20v turbo...Hopefully she can donate her bits to someone in need. I brought back to life a 91 200 20v turbo sedan that I've been bombing around brooklyn...If anyone is looking for a super fast 20vt...maybe for the "summer beater" challenge...although, she's no beater anymore...
except for the Audi and Porsche, which I imagine really are beaters in anyone's book, the other three look quite nice, actually! Especially like the Merc!

I bought the same air compressor pump from Harbor Freight and Quickly realized it doesn’t like to pump up big tires , and it it was especially clear to me when the label on the hose said “Not for use on Vehicles” when there were no other labels anywhere on outer packaging smh 🤦♂️
There definitely needs to be a quick follow up video as that car was by far a crowd favorite...
