The melody sounded familiar because it's the "Adagio in G minor" by Tomaso Albinoni, early 18th century.

I believe she made this as a birthday present for Hannes who was doing the camera work (the looks she was giving in that direction no doubt who was the audience for this) and as always give a shout out to the music by Tommy Johansson. A common issue raised is the vocals mixed too much in the background but this time I believe it is intentional as the music builds her vocals build with it to the climax of the song. Good reaction.

Glad someone else had that thought...there are definitely some very ...shall I say deviously sexy...looks given and how her interpretation of song/lyrics was more of an excited/anticipatory feel than pining or longing. Probably how they both feel when away from each other for long stretches on the road.
Floor is a so a great Storyteller, in all what she do. And this with her awesome and unique Voice. And when you see her in Floor finds,MasterClass, Q&A or Floor Storytime. A wonderfull person too. My tip, check her YT Chanel. 🥰

There's nothing I can say about Floor and/or this cover that hasn't already been said countless times.
This song from its instrumental is really old, only the lyrics are modern days product. Instrumental dates back 1700’s and it was played in many movies and funerals before Lara made it popular with lyrics. Well said Ginger, Floors voice hits you like a hammer, but we love it!
Yeah. Albinoni's Adagio was played with organ at the end of my father's funeral.

I reckon, the way Floor masters a song and song lyrics interpretation, and projects this, that she actually would make an incrediblay great actress as well.
The chin dimple is a lighting thing, BTW: light from the side highlights it :). It is hard to see with lighting from all directions, and or light from overhed just in front (like a concert). And yes, I am into photogrpahy as well, for 58 years now .

Originally it is a classic piece - Adagio by Tomaso Albinoni - In 1970 the Dutch symphonic rockband Ekseption scored a modest hit with this song, Lara Fabian made it into a beautiful song and Floor Puts some extra urgency into it.

Hi! Thanks for the review! Some happy news! As of two hours ago (would be about 5:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time) Floor has posted: "Busy recording videos for the TH-cams -- 🎥 New year, more singing!" ... So Ginger's comments about the Covid-19 effects were right on! Some notes: I have watched virtually all the reactions to Floor's Adagio now, and the vocal coaches reactions and Commenters are about equally split between Floor's and Lara's versions (Lara certainly has her own "Army" -- ha ha). Here in Canada, we are happy to be able to support BOTH singers: don't forget Lara, born in Belgium, is a naturalized Canadian since 1995 (the Canadian Encyclopedia notes: "Fabian made her first trip to Quebec in 1991 and moved there permanently"). So on Lara: 1) she is getting lots of attention with people reacting to Floor's cover of her, and will get lots of NEW FANS who are fans of Floor and Nightwish, but were not previously aware of her; 2) the most requested song of Lara's by Commenters appears to be "Je Suis Malade"; and 3) RESPECTFULLY: I know you say in the review you have reacted to one of Lara's, but I did a word search of your posts and I couldn't find it: could you give us a source and we will check? Finally, on the Lara vs. Floor commentary, everyone don't forget that this is one of Lara's SIGNATURE songs, with which she often ends her live concerts, so Floor is very much on Lara's "turf" in doing it. To be completely FAIR to both singers in comparison, we would really want to see Lara cover one of FLOOR'S signature songs as well. But really the best would be to see them on stage together: can you imagine Floor performing with Lara, the same way that Floor combined with SIMONE of Epica in "Sancta Terra"?? We would pay big bucks to see that I bet !!!

We did Je Suis Malade, and I ended up taking it down because the commenters were really hostile. I got tired of the insults. She’s a lovely lady with a killer voice, but her fans did not appreciate our humour and I felt bad about it. We’ll do another of hers soon, but I don’t love walking on eggshells. - G
I was equally haunted by "where have I heard this tune before?".
I went through a few of Sarah Brightman's albums that I have and sure enough, Anytime, Anywhere is based on Albinoni's adagio as well.

Being Canadian I’m sure your heard of Lara Fabian, this is one of her songs. Lara does a great job as is a fantastic singer and Floor proves once again she can perform anything to the highest levels. "Albinoni Adagio" (composed by Remo Giazotto) is a famous tune at funerals and some movies (usually instrumental). Lara Fabian's version (1999) is the most famous one with lyrics. Our Floor does some vocal athletics there. And it's great! ⛄👍

Tomaso Albinoni Adagio is used in the si fi movie Rollerball staring James Caan it is one of the most emotional and beautiful pieces and fits the mood of the part of the movie perfectly.
The band epica has released a beautiful ballad named 'rivers'. It's brilliant. Hope you see it someday.

I felt the same way, that i heard the song before. Maybe in a movie perhaps.
Sound familiar, because the song is built upon Tomaso Albinoni (1671 - 1751) - so no new kid on the block - Adagio in G Minor - This Beautiful piece has sometimes regrettably become a symbol for sorrow and sadness.
As much as I love Floor and her cover of this I still think Lara's live version is the best.
This performance is also live! it is in one shot..The songs will always sound better in the original interpretation, because it is where you first fall in love with the song, then everything else will sound different even if it is very good..Floor here uses a lot more techniques than Lara, let's say she made a Floor style version full of versatility and typical techniques of a musical Nerd haha

I have watched 3 versions of this so far, Lara Fabian, Dimash and now Floor. I enjoyed all 3 but i think Dimash gives the most powerful jaw dropping performance even though his English is a little off

I must admit I'm not that much into Dimash, he is clearly very talented and extremely good singer, but to me there is not much emotions in the way he sings.
The hole Female Singer are afraid, Floor Jansen made their Songs to her own Songs, because Floor has Time to do this. Many female Singer sing what they can, but Floor sing what she want.
Dimash sing this part high than original and more long(17 sec) 😅..floor still sing good to me

I wonder who does the recording/mixing at Floor's house, not a fan of the soundquality of all her covers.
Don't get me wrong, i think Floor is the best female vocalist on the planet, i'm talking albout the mixing/recording which is so so.
It's good, but every time I hear Adagio I hear Dimash's voice.
