This version is just too overwhelming. I mean you see the original makes you feel so damn sad about someone leaving but this one have that frustrated, confused, and depressed feeling all at the same which cuts through you emotionally.

What I love about his version (that keeps me coming back) is because it helps someone acknowledge the fact that being hurt doesn't immediately equate to being sad, it could also make you mad. Sometimes crying over it won't be enough, so resenting and being angry about something that hurt you and leave you in pain is normal.
I'd forever listen to this version whenever I'm hurting, to remind myself that I can be mad too even when people expect me to be sad.
Edit: And I did, I came back here after someone I love leave me. Never did I imagine that this version would hit me any harder than the last time I listened to it. Each lyrics speaks to me and comforts all these emotions (resentment, pain, betrayal, loneliness). Thank you, this version somewhat keep me sane after all that happened.
