@@nigelgunn_W8IFF I find the titanium are either too small or too long. Yeah, plastic isn't eco friendly or always health friendly but I'm at the age where Im probably full of particles anyway. Thanks for watching.
I've found plastic utensils melt if using to stir while cooking. I've settled on a titanium non folding spork (spoon one end, fork other end) and an Opinel 7.
@@GeekfromYorkshireThe MSR , humangear and UCO have all been tested thoroughly and don't melt. I haven't used the decathlon in boiling food so can't guarantee it.
Don't forget wood! I don't like the sound of metal on metal.. so I carved myself a wooden spoon ;) it's working as intended for me. Comment about melting: I've melted a decathlon spork with hot oil while cooking so... yeah it melts. Humangear plastic on the other hand does not.
I either need a spoon or a fork but never both. I always need a knife. So I have a non folding titanium fork one end and spoon other end, and an Opinel, in a bag with elasti band. My Sporks are in the grab emergency cook kit where it fits in pot. A spork is not good at spoon or fork. Part of my reason is I prefer to store food I prepared in thin disposable bags in my pots where the pot is the protection from food bag tears and everything else separate. 0-2 days is meths , >3 days is gas.
@@GeekfromYorkshire I use these mainly because they fit in a pot. If I was using disposable bags a spork wouldn't be the best choice unless it was mylar. I tend to eat thicker food so a spork works ok but, you are right, they don't excel as a spoon or a fork.
Lots of great options there for sure! One to fit every purpose!
I picked another one up after I made the video. A Jetboil set but it isn't as compact.
I don't like eating with plastic utensils so only metal sporks for me, mostly titanium.

@@Tiger-789That is handy to know re the decathlon.
Might have to start whittling.

Everyone likes a good spork
