Many LED street lights in Detroit are defective. Bring back McGraw Edison (later American Electric, and then Thomas & Betts) Series 325 Low or High Pressure Sodium Lamps, but American Electric/Thomas & Betts now has General Electric logo on it on the top of the fixture and on the lens (refractor), which is newer M-400R on and after 1996.
Sodium lights are like great m8
Lady: I didn't want to walk out my back door, it was dark and dangerous
The perfectly working street light on her shed: angry light bulb noise.
So rather than fixing the good old lights thay put in junk ones.
L.E.D. LIGHTS ARE NOT RUBBISH
THEY LAST OVER 100,000 HOURS OR MORE AND ARE TOTALLY EFFICIENT
@@stephensnell5707 led doesnt even last 50.000
@@stephensnell5707they are garbage pieces of shit that don’t last a single month and are fucking harsh, high pressure sodium is better, LED IS FUCKING GARBAGE
mercury vapor better
I find that many of the new led lights being installed fails within a year or so. Will they replace them then? At least with old sodium lights you can replace the lightbulb yourself.
LED are pretty bad with old sodium light are more efficient than crappy LED
BNSF 777 Productions and LEDs are super ugly
@@TexasRailfan2008 yes
0:38 tf is he doing!?
My light was flickering then later on it was really dark but I see barely then next week later they fix it and now it’s finally on it looks much much better
i don't want to look at another led streetlight head fixture or another led streetlight.
i hope that every led streetlight head fixtures and every streetlight head fixtures would all start flickering off and on and blinking and flashing.
They replaced MH MV HPS with crappy LEDs
Young Thug exactly
Young Thug HPS is more efficient than LEDs
Brandon Russell HPS is more efficient
Khalid Hebshi ikr
The Hacker exactly
If i was in that situation, I would set up one on the edge of my yard so that I wouldn’t need to rely on the city.
Make sure to get high pressure sodium street lamps instead of led otherwise you’ll be replacing the whole damn fixture every month
Don’t worry, I have a giant collection of mercury vapor, metal halide, and high pressure sodium fixtures. My 400w psmh ovx would fix this problem very quickly.
That’s sad 😢 and good 😊 I like the old LED light and new LED light
Sounds like the movie the money pit.
Those old lights are Nema head 100w high pressure sodium lights.
Storks KB
LEDs are trash bring the nice old ones back. Those were way better then these new trash
You need to realise L.E.D. LIGHTS DO NOT USE NEARLY AS MUCH POWER AS LPS AND HPS WOULD SO L.E.D. IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST AND GIVES OFF WAY MORE LIGHT TOO
@@stephensnell5707 led is shit
@@stephensnell5707LED is the worst streetlight type in existence, they never last, they are too bright and harsh on the eyes, bad for the environment, they tend to turn purple, they are garbage pos fixtures, you need to understand that led streetlights are garbage and hps is always better, do research before commenting fake news
Plus towns are wasting more money replacing and maintaining led streetlights than maintaining and running high pressure sodiums
@@BRISTOLFORCE2009 Yeah exactly
They just couldn’t change the bulbs
