ABC's Tuesday night lineup fell apart that season after a slight revamp along with strong competition from the other networks. NBC's The A-Team took a huge chunk out of ABC's ratings in the 8pm hour, which consisted of Just Our Luck and Happy Days. The CBS Tuesday movie at the 9pm hour ate into Three's Company and Oh, Madeline. Mid-season,m NBC would premiere Riptide at 9pm which ranked at number 18.
My little sister and I used to watch Oh, Madeline on Friday nights. We were so sad when it was cancelled. It wasn’t super funny, but MK is watchable in anything.
Sitcoms where risky business in 1983. Then it was considered a dying trend. If it didn't do amazing in ratings then they where gonna jump on the A Team action wagon.
Unfortunately, these shows usually cast actors as married and living in households, etc. Very played out but that was the time. Even Paul Lynde played a married man with 2 children in his sitcom.
Oh she deserved so much better. Lazy writing. Take the restaurant scene for example. They sit down, order fruit salad, food arrives, they talk about stealing the diary, and then, conversation over - they just get up and walk out! Without a bite, and without paying.
I agree with you, about the writing. The scenes at the neighbor's house were very "I Love Lucy" on drugs; if her husband was friends with the guy, it would have been simpler to go over to visit, then find a reason to use the master bathroom.
I knew this show existed! No one believed me. Thank you for uploading this 😂
I remember this show -- it was criminally overlooked and underrated. Deserved a few seasons -- not just one! Thanks for posting.

She was SO Sexy!!
An enjoyable show!
Loved this show
Loved this show as a teen and was more than a bit cheesed off when the Abysmally Boneheaded Clods at ABC pulled it
Kept overated dynasty until 1989. Xd
How did I not know this existed?
I loved this show. Didn't last near as long as it should of
I remember this Tv show

The ratings were 15.1 but 40 years I guess that wasn't good enough for a major network.
surprised CBS didn't bring it back
It aired on ABC.
@@Asukenick oh okay
This must have been on past my bedtime, I've never seen it. I wss only 8!
Yes, Madeline, I had no idea at 7 years old you would speak to young gay me. Thank you.
Theme song eerily similar to Newhart

Right?(??)

Madeline Conn has risen. Check out Oh, Kay. LMAO!
Sometimes the show is good just doesn't fit the network this was on ABC it looks and feels and would have done well on cbs
I agree. They worked so well with Carol Burnett.
I agree. It would have competed well with Newhart in the Monday night lineup.
This seems to be from a foreign country, the US has change so profoundly.
Seems like the person who cast this instinctively picked people you'd instantly hate.
Awful.
Yes, it is a serious cringe. The only good thing is he was a fridge performer in NY city who became he friend and she got him the gig
@@CTForresteriIt’s sad she is dead, but I never found MK funny. This is such a generic premise.
