Finally someone explains all this stuff. I’m new to crates in the car and sizing was something I struggled with. I would have thought Ruffland would have put something like this on their site.
CPS does list the Sleepy Pod harness as the only one that passed their testing. I’ve been using that while I’ve been searching for a vehicle that will work with our Gunner kennel.
Just watched a video with 5 harness styles, most said they were crash tested and ALL 5 failed. Most tore apart and the dog did become a projectile. Thank you for your video. We crate when Lily is in the car and I've been worried about the quality of the crate. Will check out your recommendations next. Thank you!!
Looking to get a Ruff Land for my dog. I see you have a front to back door option and a front and side door option. So recommend 2 doors over 1? Our local retailers only carry the single door, so we’d have to wait for a double door though it seems more versatile
I think two exit points are always better than one because if one side is blocked in an accident, you can still get the dog out without having to move the kennel. I have the side door because its what fit best in my Ford Edge. Now I have two single doors in my Kia Telluride. Its really going to come down to what works best in your vehicle because the additional doors do increase the kennels overall size.
Both of my dogs can sit in their crates with their heads lowered and they can both turn around. I prefer my dogs to be laying down and sleeping when in the car
Safe crash tested crates are not cheap, you're paying for quality. Anything is better than nothing though as you don't want your dog to be a projectile.
First and foremost, so glad that everyone was safe. All your crate/car videos have pushed me to really focus on buying a car crate for my girl.
Thank you!! ❤

Great information. Thinking about transport of pets, and safety is my top concern

You've already taken steps and made a great choice! Good job!
You rock, thank you.

Thank you for this! So informative! I’m looking for a good kennel that’s not over the top, but not dirt cheap lol
What about Dakota do you have a video on that one?
I don't own one
I’ve always been simply BAFFLED that so many people drive around with their dog UNSECURED in their car. That is so crazy dangerous!!!
I am leaning towards Ruff Land. I sent them an email. Their response will determine what direction I will go.
Should you put comfort toys/blankets in the crate for them, especially for longer rides? Or does that make it less safe for them?
That's really up to you and your dog. Neither of my dogs have anything but a primo pad in their car crates. I want them sleeping when they're in them
Should a dog be able to sit in a car crate?

Great video! 👍🏼 Those dog harnesses should be outlawed - Absolutely inhumane for dogs.
Wow is there anything affordable????
