  • I have started Intermittent Fasting after reading Fast. Feast. Repeat. This video as an overview of my excitement surrounding Fast. Feast. Repeat and finishing the Fast Start 28 Day Fast. I cannot wait to continue seeing weight loss and health benefits from my daily clean Intermittent Fasting. Gin Stephen's book is amazing. I have been doing daily fasts (also known as time restricted feeding) for nearly 5 weeks.

      Hi! I just saw this video, it’s about the third or fourth video of yours that I have seen. I am right at 4 weeks and have been having many of the same thoughts you shared, so it was so easy listening to you share. I just want to say that I really enjoy your style of articulation. I can sit and watch a video and feel like a friend is talking. Fast talking style but even when you say rambling, you are still on point and never boring. I think I’ll watch all of your fasting stuff. So I guess I have to say I’m a fan! I’ll send best wishes to you and your whole family, greetings from California, and thanks for doing TH-cam!!

      @ Chrystal Leveille Even when you are not losing weight on the scale, you can still be losing inches instead
      with OMAD. Every single person's body is different. There is a "whoosh" thing that can happen too. A lady fasted 3 weeks and lost no weight. After that third week she lost 6 pounds. Her body did not release the water in her fat cells until the end of her third week. I started my third week this last Friday and doing OMAD 20: 4. So many health benefits to this! weight loss and inches lost is just the bonus!

    I just found YOU and Gin yesterday! I am currently listening to the audiobook and loving it! I am post-menopause with 50 pounds to lose and have tried EVERYTHING! But this clicks with me...I have been IF-ing for 2 weeks but not much progress; now I know why! Not a clean fast! I am ready to finish the book and begin the 28-day challenge! So glad I found you and your videos for support! ❤️

    I’m so excited I watched your video today!!! I have a very similar story as you. I started IF three weeks ago, and have been trying to research it as much as possible, I’ve been listening to podcasts about it and stumbled across Gin, she’s amazing!!! I’m also 5’10, and 181 lbs, never ever had an issue with my weight until maybe the last 6 yrs.., I have two teenagers, and pre-meno being 48 yrs old so the weight is stubborn to get off. I’m so excited to follow your journey and I’m bound and determined to make this my way of life as well, I love it so far!! I’m going to buy Gin’s book this weekend, can’t wait to read it:)))

    I am watching your earlier fasting videos after trying fasting again for the third time. You have been a regular part of my day for a good while and I love how you share your experiences with food and fasting. I remember being in several Facebook groups regarding various ways of eating and the group of people who seemed to be the happiest was called Delay Don't Deny. I was always impressed how they were eating what they enjoyed and with good results. I will enjoy seeing how you began your fasting journey and how it progressed. I am learning a lot and I wanted to say thank you. You are having the most fun eating what you love. It doesn't get better than that. I am just getting started again, but I can feel the food rules slipping away. They may never go away completely, but at least now they are not causing as much stress and confusion as they were. All the best to you and your family.

    Thank you for your concise, down to earth channel. There are many channels on TH-cam, I find myself watching yours. I like that you refer viewers to the experts, naming your resources. I’ve been fasting for 3 weeks. I haven’t been able to lose weight I gained from the steroids, used during chemotherapy two years ago. I’ve lost 8# so far. It’s been really easy, & I feel much better. I think my body was screaming for it. Thank you.

    Hey! I just found you. I'm on day 4 of fasting. I've tried it in the past, but I wasn't ready for it mentally. I kept feeling like I was always hungry (mind over matter, I guess)
    Now, I totally feel like I already can do this. Day 1 & 2 I had headaches, but by day 3, I was feeling good. Bloat started to go down and I am feeling like I can totally do this. Best of all... I don't feel hungry. I realized I was just eating because I was conditioned to eat 3 meals a day with snacks in-between.
    Thanks for sharing your journey- it's definitely inspiring to us women out here looking to get healthy and be at a healthy weight. 💛

I’m going to listen to the book you recommended on audio book 😂 I’m to busy to sit and read but can listen to in the car on my way to work. I did ww and lost a lot of weight but had a baby a year ago and tried doing ww and it’s hard to do points right now. I'm in. I started fasting at the beginning of January (3weeks) and lost 2.5 pounds of my 10pound goal. I just love it , eating what I want , how much and when with the big plus of no calories/carb etc counting. I lol when someone tells me I need to do low carb. , that ain't happening, I love bread too much. the weight is coming off my belly fat and I'm very pleased. I don't feel that hungry I think because I am having caffeine withdrawal. I am also losing my taste for coffee, after breakfast I have some coffee and it doesn't taste all that great to me. I can see this becoming a lifestyle and am def going to order and read the book. when I go to see my dr in May and tell him I have gone off my statin at least I will be at a better weight so he can support my decision. thanks for this video. I understand your excitement about this.

    I think another reason to love fasting is bc, if you think about it, you can easily incorporate it into your channel’s content too. You don’t have to make special recipes or shop specifically for “fast friendly foods” or whatever. You can share all of your normal things but easily add this in. I like that. You really struck a chord with me when you were talking about dieting & being consumed with your food choices all day. I’ve never been successful on a diet for that very reason. I’ve always said that I think about food from the moment I wake up until I lay down to sleep at night. That makes dieting harder for me bc I feel like my whole life is consumed with food....which makes me feel like I’m starving all of the time & I feel deprived. It’s awful. I’m excited to be able to follow along and see how this works for you and I’m definitely buying that book! Lol.

    • @FastingFoodie
      @FastingFoodie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      YES!! I am so pleased that I don't have to make any type of certain foods to be successful with this. Of course I know that my success will be greater/faster with best choices. But fasting alone is so helpful that I won't feel stuck.
      My favorite part of the entire book was when Gin wrote how IF relieved "decision fatigue" that many people face with standard diets. And it was such an "YES THAT'S ME" moment!! I am NOT obsessing over every choice now! It's either time to eat or not!!
      So excited you're excited for my journey! Let me know what you think of the book!! Thanks Amanda!

    • @ketodad2310
      @ketodad2310 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here the thing too. WW is a business, they honestly dont want people to reach their full goals. They make things very obscure for a reason. You may lose a bit of weight to keep you on it but then you stall and/or even gain back. Then they blame you and your “will power” even though their system makes no sense. That way you keep coming back because you believe you can through will power reach your goals even though biology is against you.

      Weight watchers used to be simple. I was a member in the late 90’s and again in 2008. Now they went bananas. Literally. My mom said she joined and she can have fruit fruit fruit. It’s a free no point food. Bull crap. Even when they changed the program to include free no pints for fruits and veggies I would still do it the old way and count the points for those items. Oh, and I loved going in person. It held me accountable. I knew someone would be seeing my weight at the end of the week and I would stick to the diet because I didn’t want to be embarrassed that I gained weight when I went for my weekly weigh in.

I have intermittent fasted before but not clean fasted…always started the morning with my water, lemon, ACV, stevia and then coffee with stevia so made it a little more tolerable…I still can’t stand the black coffee!! 😫

    Did you go right into starting eating at 4 pm. I have gotten to 16/8. I start eating g at 1. Been doing for i the and have not lost weight yet. But i do put Milo in my water and collagen in my tea. Thx

    • @FastingFoodie
      @FastingFoodie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I planned to do 4-10, but the longer I am practicing IF, the more flexible I am with it. As long as I get my 18 hours fasted, I open my window when it works well with the day. Sometimes I open at noon and close at 5, other days I open at 4 and close at 6:30. Really depends and I try listening to my body.
      Also, I add NOTHING to my water or coffee. I really feel like the "clean fast" allows me to fast longer and get more benefits. I highly recommend trying the Milo and collagen.

    I love IF! So great for your cells! But I've always heard of a 16/8 style. Is there any particular reason why you're going 18/6? Just curious 😊

    • @FastingFoodie
      @FastingFoodie  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I am truly blown away by all the benefits I have read about. Gin outlines so many, which of course can be more beneficial than weight loss. Do you practice IF regularly, too? As I was reading different approaches (16:8, 18:6, etc) I just felt that 6 hour eating window seemed challenging, but do-able. So I decided to make it my goal. It works really well for me, I am busy throughout the day and get to have an open window in the evening which is when I tend to relax more (& also enjoy dinner with my family!) So far I love it, but it was just a trial that worked out :)

    • @MM-yj7sq
      @MM-yj7sq 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I read this book and no you shouldn’t add anything. While your fasting, she recommends a clean fast, that means water, plain sparkle water(no fruity flavours) black tea or plain coffee. You can break your fast with the collagen. The clean fast also makes you less hungry. Hope that helps!

    I have been binge watching your channel all weekend. I know you say that you don't count what you eat. Is it possible to feel like binging in your eating window? That's what concerns me that I won't be successful because I will eat too many calories in that window and won't be in a calorie deficit. Have you ever counted the calories you ate in your window?

    • @RickeyMcDaniel
      @RickeyMcDaniel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You may do that initially, but keep with it and in a short time your stomach will shrink and you won't be able to eat as much n your window.

    If she has a doctorate then she is a doctor. She is not a medical doctor but she can use the terminology "doctor" in her name. It means that she has studied to the highest level possible for her choose field. Teachers and Nurses can earn doctoral degrees. Pharmacist and Lawyers have to get doctoral degrees to get certified.

    • @sofondadavis5028
      @sofondadavis5028 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the genius of fasting... You learn what is best for you. I drink my coffee with favored cream but no sugar cause sugar is too sweet for me. I vary my fasting schedule and don't keep up with the windows by only eating when I am hungry. So if I get hungry but can't stop to eat I just extend my fast. If on the other hand I only have 10 minutes to eat then I eat in 10 minutes.
      Sometimes people get hung up on whether it's a clean or dirty fast but I look at it like this there are all types of fast: clean/dirty, dry/water, veggie only/meat only, IF, OMAD, ADF and so many eating/fasting windows and no one is the same. Take your time, do your research and find out works best for you and your body. It's all trial and error.
      Fasting is NOT a diet. It's a lifestyle change. Fasting is learning to eat less. In America we overdose on food, eating too much and too often. Remember information (applied knowledge of what works for you) is the key. From there gleam what helps you reach your goals and throw out the rest.This is a marathon and a lifestyle change or you will be right back here trying to do a quick fix. Don't beat yourself up for slip ups. Just reset and start again. Detoxing and learning how to live differently isn't easy but well worth it.

      Yes I can; in my weekly videos I actually give at least 2-3 days of what I eat in my window. But I am not following low carb. I haven't read anything from Dr. Berg. I eat my normal diet, I am limiting/holding off n alcohol mostly. For the most part, my only major change is when I eat, getting in the long fasts and having a 500 calorie down day once a week.
