Hi Kev - Awesome video and attention to details, nice work. I did see in the part of your video that you measure how "loud" machine is when operates. That being said, I like the machine and thinking to purchase one but considering that i will have a baby soon + that i live in apartment, i am worried if this would be a good purchase! Any advice Kev would be appreciated. Cheers
@Coffee_Kev - Any advice on the steaming? I love the Appartmento. The only thing I'm struggling with is the faster steam cycle for the milk. It's just constantly got bubbles, and if it doesn't have any when it's steaming, when I turn it off it adds plenty. I am sure it's just more practice, but the speed of it is definitely taking some getting used to.
Great video! One question: I am doing 18gr, evenly tampered, finest grind (on this grinder) but still getting a watery output even though puck is not wet. What am I missing?
@@Coffee_Kev shot yield was 80 gr out of 18gr coffee in 25 seconds. Grinder is Faustino. And I think I fixed my issue - which is the most common one: not fine enough! I thought 0 was the finest in the grinder but I learnt it is an indication. I went beyond zero and made it finer. Now I have 1:2 ratio in 25 seconds and good texture :)
I really like the Fuastino. It's a 50mm flat burr grinder with two programmable doses and continuous, so on paper there are other grinders that would give you better bang for your buck. Having used it, though, it looks the part with the Appartamento, thick steel case, looks and feels very well built, it's really quiet, fairly quick, the adjustment is easy to use, no static, not much clumping. If you're thinking of NZ/Duo though, it's a case of figuring out if you want to do single dosing or not, once you've made a choice there, then the Faustino isn't for single dosing so that would rule it out, but if you decide to go with more traditional hopper grinder workflow, I think the Faustino is probably the best option in terms of how it pairs visually, it's one of the quietest grinders I've used too, and there's no static at all. For a similar price though there are a lot of options, so it just depends on what your priorities are really. Ta Kev
@@Coffee_Kev Thanks, Kev. I decided to pick up the DF83 to go with it after watching and reading various reviews. TCA is delivered on Wednesday, looking forward to it!
As with most E61 group espresso machines, Ideally 25-30 mins plus, they do state 18 mins, and it'd be fine after 18 mins but for best results you'd be better off setting it with a smart plug to turn on 30 mins or so before your first coffee of the day. Cheers, Kev.
@Coffee_Kev 42 min to be exact. For this price range, it's simply unacceptable. There are other great machines in the same price range that easily outperform the Rocket Appt.
The “nice” made the whole video for me!

Is nice to know the cold to hot time ( heating time in the morning)
The manual says 18 mins but I'd say more like 25-30 mins if possible. Ta, Kev.
I much prefer the aesthetics on the new TCA. I never really liked the holes on the original, but now I get it.
I do really like the way it looks

Rocket Appartamento vs Sanremo Cube R ?
Do bottomless porter filters go on forever? ❤😂
What grinding number did you set it too
1 min 56 secs - what coffee are you using Kev? 😊
great video
Was that Chocolate brownie blend ?
It certainly was 😎👍

the puck is not wet ?
When you say a watery output, what do you mean? What's the shot yield (weight of the shot). Also what's the grinder you're using? Ta, Kev.

by the way - thanks for taking your time @Coffe_Kev!
I've been tempted with this. What is your opinion on their grinder? Is it better to pair with say a niche zero/duo?
