I’m an addict ..😂. I’m actually giving some talks at my local hiking shop in Tucson this fall and I’m sort of torn between sharing the miracle of the Camino and helping to crowd the trail, but I prefer to believe always in abundance and giving away joy so..
I will stay tuned for sure. You do such a nice job of sharing wisdom and also such a source of positive energy, which I appreciate so much ..

To be able to do the Camino is such a privilege. And to be able to share the experience with others is a joy and a blessing.
Thank you for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I hope the talks/videos that pilgrims share will inspire others for many years to come. Ultreia! All the best!

Ok, thanks so much ! I can’t remember exactly when you started but I’m hoping to leave Oviedo around mid - April . I prefer walking when it’s cooler and would like to get to Santiago before the May rush. Always interested in your thoughts ? Thanks again for your wonderful videos ! Buen Camino !

We started our walk on April 25th. We prefer to walk in cooler weather as well :) Planning for the Camino is always exciting! Thank you so much for your support. I have more footage to share so stay tuned. Buen Camino!

Booking probably makes sense, as you say, be present, and honestly, not as many options on Primitivo anyway.. On Frances, I liked the option of stopping early or continuing depending on my body that day. But , I did a partial Frances in ‘19 (St. Jean - Burgos) and a full in ‘23. I think the days of playing it by ear on Frances may be over as the Camino continues to grow in popularity …

Frances is a very special route. Not booking ahead can still work based on seasonality. The Camino always provides💛

Wonderful videos. How much in advance did you need to make reservations at these lovely alburgues?

Thank you for watching! Knowing that we were heading into a busy Spring season, we booked our accommodations before we left for our trip. This allowed us to have the flexibility to plan our routes while having a variety of choices for places to stay.

Hi Jho. Thanks so much for documenting your Camino. I’m planning a Primitivo in ‘25 so it is very helpful! Is the Alohamiento albergue in Cominas de Aribe before or after the turn onto the hospitales route ? In other words, did you have to go back to catch hospitales or in path from the putt putt albergue ? Thanks !

Hello John, thanks for watching my videos. No detour is required to go to the Hospitales Route from the putt putt (Las Hospitales) Albergue, lol! The path to Hospitales route is across the gate of the Albergue. Very convenient for pilgrims! :)

Ok, thanks ! Did you guys book your accommodations ahead or take it one day at a time ? I assume Primitivo is a lot less busy than Frances , but also less services so not sure if it feels the same as Frances in terms of forward planning ?

There are definitely a lot fewer pilgrims than the Frances. What works for us is booking our accommodations ahead of time, allowing us to enjoy our walk and be more present in the moment. There is no stress in finding a bed after a tiring day. However, the pilgrims in our group who did not pre-book encountered no problems. There were enough beds for everyone, and we were there at the start of a busy Spring season.
