This is the first time that I watched one of your videos. I found it to be very well done. Thank you for your time and effort. I know making a video like this is very time consuming. And doing it as well as you have with this video, is rare. I am going to subscribe and watch more of your videos. I would like to point out to anyone watching and learning Spanish that relaxing your mind is important. Especially in learning a new language. Don’t let yourself get hung up on the differences between your first/native language and your new/target language. All languages have quirks and oddities that aren’t found in other languages. For example, English has words and usages that are very unusual/unique. Take the word “right”. How many different ways can you use the word? And in the preceding question, I wrote “take the word”. Are you actually “taking” the word? Where are you taking it? Or are you stealing it? I found that I made a big leap in learning anything, once I stopped having expectations and relaxed to open my mind to accept and explore the information. Approaching learning as something fun for me to do and experience. Good luck to anyone who “took” the time to read this.
The algorithms are just starting to suggest your videos. This is a very good clarification of a somewhat difficult verb! Thank you! I am a tested B1 working towards B2 (Dele) With your videos could you give a few more example sentences for each usage? Also you are a little fast in your presentation. Just my opinion. With listening input podcasts and videos Im comfortable with naturally paced language. With grammar it's great to have a bit more time to absorb the concepts. Just my opinion. Thanks again for your videos! 😀

Could ‘hace falta’ (needed or necessary) be remembered because if something is needed, logically it is lacking in some way? I’ve had great difficulty embedding this phrase into my memory despite great efforts made, it always trips me up. I think I will be better remember this thinking of it in this way Great explanations here, well done guys…..
@markpowellmp I know it's a difficult verb/phrase. You never want to try to translate literally but when I first started using it I just translated me hace falta to "I need", te hace falta to "you need", nos hace falta to we need, etc. Just keep trying to use it and people will correct you. Don't feel embarrassed, it's the best way to learn! 🙌👍
En el uso #3, hay que hablar de una ausencia. Missed my flight es más Perdí mi vuelo. Entonces yo diría Perdí mi conexión del vuelo por el tiempo. Pero si quieres hablar de tu ausencia podrías decir... Falté al vuelo porque perdí mi conexión por el tiempo. 🙌👍
I know that it isn’t the point/purpose of this video content, but I’m a little confused about a point buried in the examples. I see the subjunctive in some places that I may not have expected had I not already seen it in the sentence choices. Example: Faltan diez minutos para que EMPIECE la película. Is there anything special about FALTAR that tends to trigger anything or is it just the structure of that example sentence. Thanking you in advance.
You're absolutely correct noticing that there's a subjunctive trigger but it's not faltar in that example, it's para que. Whenever you use para que the verb that follows will be in the Subjunctive. 🙌👍
That’s what I thought, so if I may ask a follow-up. Could that sentence have also been constructed using “para empieza” in lieu of “para que empiece”? Note: Sometimes I struggle to see less obvious subordinate clauses.
Great question! In this case, because there's a new subject and the verb is conjugated, you need the "que". If you still aren't sure, I'll add some examples 🙌👍
Esta expresión es avanzada en mi opinión. Podría significar varias cosas y todo depende del contexto. Por ejemplo, faltaría más o no faltaba más puede significar "don't mention it", "of course", "absolutely not", etc. Para no escribir un comentario suuuuper largo, te dirijo a esa página www.espanolavanzado.com/uso-de-palabras/436-faltaria-mas-en-ingles
Correcto pero es graduarme no guardarme. (Might have been an autocorrector error). You could use either or, faltan or me faltan Me faltan dos semestres para graduarme Faltan 2 semestres para graduarme
Lo correcto es *sabes, no saves. También, tenemos un video sobre la diferencia entre poner y meter porque los dos pueden significar "to put". I like your relaxed but direct style of teaching, no fluff. Les falta nada:)
Haha thank you, what a great compliment!! Solo una pequeña corrección, tienes que agregar un no a la frase...."No les falta nada" 🙌👍😎
Thanks so much 🙏

Gracias por el video?. Uso #3 - es posible usar faltar para expresar “I missed my connection (plane) due to the weather”?
En el uso #3, hay que hablar de una ausencia.
Missed my flight es más Perdí mi vuelo.
Entonces yo diría
Perdí mi conexión del vuelo por el tiempo.
Pero si quieres hablar de tu ausencia podrías decir...
Falté al vuelo porque perdí mi conexión por el tiempo. 🙌👍
Me gusta el verbo faltar
Que bueno que lo aprendas y lo estudies y que no te falten ganas de seguir mejorando. 😁🙌👍
thanks
