      I totally agree with that. I switched from Shunyata SR-Z1 brass outlets to Furutech GTX-D NCF Rodium with wall plate for my system and absolutely no comparison. The Furutech is not even broken in yet.

    I recommend the Furutech NCF outlet over the Audioquest. The Audioquest grips stronger, but it will shave off a layer of metal each time you put in/remove a cable. The Furutech outlet needs some support with heavy cables though, their NCF booster riser works well. Block Audio makes a locking cover too. I had a standard Leviton 20 amp and PS audio outlet beforehand.

    • @beyondonethousand

      I use the Furutech GTX-D NCF-R. The best out there.

    Yes I believe in cables. Have all dragon cables for everything speakers, inputs etc. Only thing not is Audioquest WEL signature cables for transfer. Dragons are pure silver so will sound a little sharp when first used out of the box but then after you put in some hours will roll off nicely over time. Their lower all copper lines have nice sound but not as open and not as technical. The next level up the copper and silver mix have a nice combo to them. I have the Audioquest power outlets with separate 10 gage copper romex runs to the electrical panel. If you go that route a power conditioner is really not needed as higher end pieces have that built in already. If you have lower level items then a power conditioner can often help but the conditioner can sometimes starve the gear from it's full potential. I like staying pure and running the lines direct. Think about an awesome piece of equipment that gets to drink through a tiny straw ( cheap electrical outlet and wiring ). It's not going to do it's best like that. People with 10k systems aren't going to typically see value in 20k to 30k a pop wiring. Just do the best for your budget and a good store owner will usually show you most bang for the buck possible. I do not care for Audio research I like VAC a lot more.

      @@robcoon2480 I have niagara for things like my vivaldi DCS stack etc. My vac pre-amp and vac 452 iq musicblocks have their own filters. I did split testing and optimized my system over a years time the best way to have the cables and connections. Speakers are Sonus Faber Aida 2's. I still like listening to other systems but see keeping what I have at least for the next decade.

    • @robcoon2480
      @robcoon2480 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing. I will say though, using Niagara 7000/5000 will still provide benefit to even the very best systems. The high current outlets for example, offer 90 amps of Transient Power Correction. It’s like a turbo for your amplifiers. Happy Listening and enjoy your Dragons!

    From a physics and engineering and APPLIED Materials and Sciences perspective there are still a lot of very significant audible improvements to be had through far greater developments that have ALREADY been completed that are possible today. I hope manufacturers and their sales pitchmen will make a far better efforts to catch up regarding their qualities with their products beyond archaic basics. This is 2024 and some are far more discerning on audio and financially capable and not everyone is buying all the lines. It seems obvious why so many of the supposed ultra high end crowd are apparently afraid to do REAL COMPARATIVE TESTING AGAINST GENUINE STATE OF THE DEVELOPED ART.
    It could benefit the hobby greatly with far greater displayed honesty of performance shown by real comparative testing by people who are truly knowledgeable, competent, and honest.

    Sometimes I think how a tiny microphone records music that a million dollar system can't play it 😄
    Until now, I have never been able to find any speaker to give me a sound like I heard in Boston's symphony hall classical concert.

    I agree with the guy from rell acoustics about the sound staging and generally you listen to a band waste height when you should be looking up at the music as you would a band. This is what I look for in a music systems at shows I might have told you this before, but was very disappointed with the magical S 3 at a show because he was looking way down at the music

    As a beginner, I would feel out of place in a room full of people who are experts. It seems like the experts try to show you their expertise through word salads that cause you to lose interest in the product. I noticed Jay speaks in simplistic terms and causes you to remain focused on the topic. Also, some people want to keep prices hush hush so after feeding you the word salad they want the price to sneak up on you like slow gin. Jay puts them on blast and just comes out and asks “how much is this?” You can almost hear the hesitation in their voices when they realize they have to justify it proudly in real time. It reminds me of going on a date and the guy doesn’t wait for a kiss when he drops her off at the end of the evening, he’s like nah let me get one at the beginning when I pick her up so I know what kind of party this is. Are we going to La Pierre’s for diner or are we having chow at Mickey D’s! Jay just has a down to earth way about him that makes a guys guy feel comfortable. He looks out of place. Jay doesn’t look or sound like most of the experts in his field but after reading some of the comments, it almost sounds like they are a bit jealous of him. Keep doing your thing Jay, you are getting me to want to connect with you for a new system when my house is completed.
