This track was destroyed by the Tamil Tigers and now been reconstructed Under the financial assistance by the Indian government.The railway stations were built by the Sri Lanka Railways with the financial sacrifices made by the Sinhalese school children and the public in the south.We should show our tribute to them. Any way it is a great leap.

Sorry but to say the truth the building and reopening of this track is a great leap for the national unity ( Sinhalease, tamils etc.) but it became a great defeat for the dividist. The labour assistants for the whole track was given by the SL Army. Tribute to them
Actually, this project could be done 1/3 price without any support from the Indian Government. The SLR and CECB had done all design and initiated the project. But the Indian government and Rajapaksha Government ......

Dayananda Atukorele It was built and funded by Indian government. Not funded by SL but perhaps pocketed by the officials as usual.
