I like this little how-to... watch Casey figure it out videos.... I was inspired to do some more projects... On my 06 Mustang Convertible I am restoring, this last week, I just completed my Coron-acation project of replacing the old mucked up carpet and also added sound/heat insulation to the floor pans. At the end of last year, I did an MGW Short Shifter. The difference from the old factory shifter is beyond night and day! I can appreciate your "excited" state of being when you first shifted!

You found nuts. It must have been a squirrel. Once you remove the sqirrels's nest the sound dempening effect will be gone. In fact, I have it on good authority that Porsche utilized mice, rats and squirrels to install sound suppression materials. You should call Porsche and buy a new OEM squirrel. I don't have the part number in front of me, but can provide it should you want to go back 100% original.

    Dear Casey
You have put the last tack in my desire to own a sports car. I recently went out into covid territory to purchase a 1987 944s in need of some love, got a good deal, and it is currently living in my garage. At some point after I give it some of the basic love that it needs (clean the rust spots out of the paint, install a new gauge cluster, and an engine tune up) I will be driving it around to compliment my parents' classic Meyer's Manx dunebuggies (which they have 1 60s original, and 2 new style bodies).
What feels like forever ago I owned an 86 944, but being young leads you to greatly overestimate your ability and intelligence. Sadly the car was mostlikely parted out. However, I am much older now, with responsibilities that *should* stop me from making the same poor choices. I have plans for this car's future, and coming from a family of car people I have several decades of know how, and plenty of tools to help me breath the life I desire into my new child.
    Thank you, Casey.
    Sincerely, Wyrrmie.

Not Casey, but from what I've seen as the owner of a '78, the 928s are all fairly good cars, with a few expensive things that vary by year.
Take a look around on Rennlist and PelicanParts if you're looking at getting a 928.
There are definitely some 'gotcha' items on some of the later cars, and the DOHC 5L engine is definitely an interference design, expensive if the timing belt breaks.
