The people in Nima are the coolest you can find, but if you touch one all the community will come after you.

First of all Nima is a pronounciation of a Ga word, after all it is situated in an area that has for centuries been traditionally Ga.
Nima itself is a vibrant, bustling business hub.
As correctly mentioned its population is largely Muslim with many coming from the North of Ghana and other parts of West Africa.
It's negative reputation comes from it being a deprived area, but the reputation is mostly undeserved. One of its biggest problems is for decades its growth population wise has never been matched by infrastructure and social amenties. Much of that lies with the authorities.
The reporters comments about a shooting are grossly unfair and misleading. It was not anything malicious or even an act of violence. Rather it was a reckless act of some silly celebrants firing their guns to mark the occassion . Regrettably a stray bullet hit someone. It could have been anywhere but shouldnt happen anywhere (simply ban firearms)
Nima is a place i have to visit when i am in Accra.
Whilst there i will make sure i will get my supply of samia, waakye, massa, kulikuli wagashi and burkina and so on..
Simply because it is the best place to get all of these things in Accra.
The people just like all over Ghana are friendly and welcoming !!!

This Caleb guy is not equipped with proper inverviewing skills. Why does he interview in the English language when most of the people he talks to are not quite fluent in the language? What is the purpose of communication if the receiver does not decipher the intent of the message? Caleb boy, I am not impressed by any stretch of the word.

Why speak big English ( booklong)when you can speak pidgin for the less fortunate ppl to understand, and communicate with you. This is absurd. What is a "Zongo"

Rubbish! That is the most stupid and myopic statement to make about Nima. To consider Nima as the centre for unemployed and criminal youth is such a preposterous statement and needs to be condemned.
