Tempo , registrations , beautiful! Ms Kaczor is the only performer I have heard on Utube who uses tremulant on the solo stop; so poignant and beautiful.
Totally! Odd that most other organists don't use tremulant in this amazingly beautiful little piece - the text has distinct elements of joy, and Bach's organs likely had tremulant.
This organ has a fabulous tone. So rich and soothing. And of course the wonderful playing of Ms Kaczor just helps it soar with this lovely chorale prelude. Stunning!!
G'day, rogerdebarcelona! This was played at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and to me, music at funerals doesn't seem Romantic. I realise that Romantic is not the same meaning as romantic, but could you elaborate on this being Bach "at his most Romantic" and the difference between the two, one an upper case R and the other a lower case r? I like to use this piece as background music for prayer but I don't equate it with romanticism.
HERE AGAIN , AND EVERYTIME I THANK GOD FOR YOUR BACH'S PERFORMINGS. EVERYTHING IN YOU IS LIGHT. I NEVER GET TIRED OF HEARING THIS HEAVENLY MASTERPIECE, ALMOST EVERY WEEK I COME TO THIS CORNER OF THE UNIVERSE TO SEE YOU. E.
Merci beaucoup... Live Long and Prosper.
This is one of my favorite pieces. The more I listen to your performance, the more I like the way you play the organs. Keep up the good work and inspire more and more people with your beautiful music throughout the world.

@@mariamagdalenak0380 you make life beautiful, or you remind us that it is. your hard work reassures many people of the basic goodness of life. Thank God and thank you!
Eres maravillosa.
This is the piece that allowed me to finally "get" Bach after years of not understanding or appreciating his brilliance. I wish more people knew of it - and you've done a wonderful interpretation! Is that a mixture stop I hear on the upper manual? It adds a nice brilliance to the chorale melody without stabbing the ear like reeds or brass do (in my opinion).
I'll answer since it's now over 2 years since you asked this question. No, it's not a mixture stop. This is the typical Baroque Cornet stop that is made by combining the Flutes 8', 4' and 2' with a 2-2/3' and 1-3/5'. No single instrument of the orchestra is capable of reproducing this unique sound. The reason is that you would need several instruments to produce the sounds as the organ can do. When playing a C for example, the 2-2/3' would sound as a G over one octave higher, and the 1-3/5' would sound as a high E two octaves above.
Mike MACLENNAN You have answered my question too. This piece as MM Kaczor plays it (with that cornet) reminds me of Leonhardt's deeply moving rendering of Bach's Vor deinen Thron tret' ich hiermit , also on TH-cam. I wonder whether Ms Kaczor had heard this version of Bach's closing work, and chosen a similar choice of stops for this highly moving, and to my amateur listener's ear, richly similar piece?
I kind of like the over the top tremulant on the sesquialtera melody. I used to play this a lot with a similar registration, but I turned off the tremulant (with a piston, I think) near the end of on the long last note. I liked the effect but maybe that was getting a little too cute.
Maria Magdalena :SChöne bilder und music. Vielen dank❤👍

Here is an example of many where the organist has chosen to use the tremelo on the solo stop:

Cudne!
Great tempi and color, but why o why this tremolo? Its already 'lamento' enough without it.
Profound.
Quelle paix !

I would have preferred it without the tremulant, let the Cornet do its thing! But wonderful anyway.
