@@ThatPhilippinesLifeHi Mike! Am just curious, may I know the brand of shades you wore on this particular video please? ☺️ It's nice I love it, looks good on you😀

You are right Mike. President Roxas was born in Roxas City. I think he served for 2 years as President and died in 1948. Seems Pilar is a fishing village. Good video to see some small towns and their livelihood.
Wow ! Islands Hotel was amazing ! It was very kind of them to upgrade your room, what a comfortable place to unwind. I think the rates you posted are reasonable, a classy place available at different tiers. The old mansion was very interesting, very ornate! It was sad to see such a stately building in disrepair. How cool would it be for someone to hire a team to clean and rebuild it. Such an old building, if it has no structural issues with the foundation and walls, probably won't develop any in the foreseeable future.
Thanks for the video Mike, looking forward to more. Like the way you check out the interesting places on your journey. Hope the toe is getting better...Cheers!....Jim
I think you seem to be enjoying and having more fun doing these videos without your wife, doing freely what ever you desire. Keep up all your hard work, it’s showing positive results. 😊
Island hotel looks great. Roxa city is looking to be a great travel destination and maybe a place to call home. Looking forward to seeing the next video. ❤
Very cool to see you exploring a little observed area of Philippines. Last time I saw a video from there was 2004 and the early vlogger's name was, "Cowboy", something.
You're doing it right, Michael. You have to be social and more aggressive than the locals. If you just wander in quietly, they see you as weak and will mess with you. Its 7th grade all over again. Haha. Good job.
It's always nice to watch your vlogs sir Michael, thanks for sharing our lovely Panay Island. :) I am also a native of Panay Island specificaly from Pontevedra, Capiz. I hope you get the chance to visit Gigantes islands as well since you are there in Carles, Iloilo already
Hi Michael I so enjoyed your time in Roxas City The town and the beach area are so beautiful. Tomorrow Wednesday I and doing a road trip to Roxas City. Should be in Roxas City on Friday the 9th. You enjoy your next journey and looking forward to your next video. Thanks
@@ThatPhilippinesLife Three good resort in Sicogon are Huni, Balay Cogon, Solina Beach and Nature. From there you can explore other islands like the quite popular Gigantes island too. Stay safe and enjoy. Watching from Saudi Arabia.
It is originally part of Pilar Capiz which you are gonna pass by afer President Roxas. It was separated from Pilar and formed into seperate town by virtue of republict act
In the olden times, the name of the capital town or city becomes the name of the province. Of course, some continue to this day. Examples are Cebu City, Cebu, Batangas City, Batangas. President Manuel Roxas was born in Capiz (town), Capiz which was renamed to Roxas City. President Roxas (town) was formerly known as Lutod-lutod and together with other barrios from Pilar (town), Capiz was separated to form a new town with that name.
Other examples were Morong, Morong which was later re-named to Rizal province after the national hero. Also Tayabas, Tayabas which was later re-named to Quezon province after the former president.
Roxas City was renamed from the municipality of Capiz in honor of the 4th President Manuel Acuna Roxas. The local history is passed down through oral tradition, and the national history is taught in school so some of them may not know except for the history buffs. Also, the people in provincial areas are not confident with their English speaking even though it is taught in school. If I ever make it back to the area, I can show you Aklan, an area that used to be part of Capiz. I’m still okay in speaking Aklanon and Tagalog, though it’s more like a secondary language to me now since I grew up in the US. I’m not sure if that is something you’re interested in since you like living in a more developed area.
Lesson learned. From now on im always checking in with a camera rolling just in case it gets me a free upgrade. 😂 The room was pretty sweet even without a desk.
@@ThatPhilippinesLife every job should have fringe benefits. This was a nice one. Random = As you begin to venture around town by yourself, Mike, you may want to add a few Tagalog words in your repertoire. Nice way to break the ice with the locals, ey?
One of the falsehoods reported by many TH-camrs is the the Philippines is an English speaking country., I have been in PH for 1.5 years now and realize that is certainly not the case. Many people know some level of English as they teach it in school but mostly people that can speak good to fluent English are only in the most populated areas
It doesn't change, we were both still on tourist visa, I'm currently starting a corporation with a Filipino as well working with a big charity soon that will get me a annual volunteer visa
@@ThatPhilippinesLife Nice! Looking forward to hearing all about the charity and your new corporation. Hopefully you’ll still share your fabulous photos with the rest of us! 👏👏👏

The price of rice displayed is not per kilo but per ganta or gantang. It's equivalent to 2.41 kg. That's why it looks expensive
Oooh thank you! I thought that seemed strange since I have seen P40 before listed
@@ThatPhilippinesLife actually ganta is not a measurment of weight but its the Volume of the rice. It dates back during the spanish period.

Bitoys right across from San Antonio Resort
