  • As many will be aware, The Severn Valley Railway suffered a serious embankment failure on Wednesday 29th January 2025.
Here is the Landslip a week after on Wednesday 5th February 2025. Expectedly not a lot has changed but again we can see the extent of the damage caused by this challenging issue.
The Severn Valley Railway have raised a considerable amount of money already and aim to raise much more to help get the Railway up and running again fully.

It looks a daunting exercise for the SVR to take on frankly. Not only haspart of the bridge failed, but the embalment itself is moving as well. There also logistical problems too Looks marshy at the bottom and that will stop heavy machinery from coming in easily. Not as easy location to repair on quite a few angles.Okease if you can donate to the SVR even with something small. It helps.

Not as daunting as the damage caused by the 2007 floods. Highley Station had a serious landslide that damaged points, signals and infrastructure like the water tower and the cattle pen. Also loads of other area's of the line past Bewdley were damaged.

It'll be interesting to see how that's repaired, it looks like part of the bridge has collapsed as well as the embankment.

I am guessing Network Rail will be giving some of their track maintenance apprentices a decent project here to gain experience.

I was saying to my dad that Network Rail have a great opportunity to get apprentices to help work on this alongside the already established experienced Network Rail workers and the SVR P way department.

It appears it's more of a bridge wall failure rather than a landslip.....

Didn't get close enough to show the real issue. There's a limit to how many fly overs at 100ft I can put up with.

@ for a safe flight I had to remain at around 22 feet, connectivity was an issue due to the surrounding trees and power lines. Apologies if the content isn’t up to your standards
