As the Church of England has 'aided and abetted' illegal immigrants, they should be made to take responsibility for any crimes committed by those people. If the immigrant commits murder, then the clergy 'guardian' involved should be charged with 'aiding and abetting' the murderer and charged accordingly in the courts.

I blame Ofcom rules. The legal requirement for "balance" results in every segment like this becoming a shouting match with at least one moron. It would be way more useful to just have someone on and give them the time and space to outline their views thoroughly without an argument. People can get balance by going to different channels and news sources. This is partially why long-form content like podcasts are so successful these days.
It is nothing more than a normal broadcasting trick. Put someone on who will spout opposing views but are very good at arguing them. They can then be disproved on camera to show how wrong the opposing views are
