That's what I call the "dramatic impact" ... :) you should add "the drama" button in the future for going through some crazy transformers. This is just for me. Great unit.
I get a very slight distortion on my vocals with the karacter. With plug-ins this is almost impossible, because it always sounds digitally artificial and with pedals and other modules I haven't managed to get such a velvety analogue slight distortion that you almost don't notice, but which brings that certain something of crunch to the vocals. For me the karakter is the King of finetuning saturation. 👌
Nice revisit elysia team. I own all your double-wides. I can see where you double track with this...1st track is clean/normal, then copy it with Karacter on track 2 and EQ to manipulate and blend.
It has M/S function, that's all you need. You target only the sides in the mix (or center), for specific work you tagret the one track you want to "color" etc. It will take you 20 minutes more ... :))
@@b.hornetiii.6771 if I target the center then it will affect the bass and this is what I want to have the choice about. I get what you say about the sides but somehow its not enough. It is way more flexible with SC abilities. This is one of the things I love plugins about. Or devices like the xpressor. For me it is "Sc filter for everyone!" or "SC 4 Life! :-)
@@saardean4481 hahaha. I get it ... Yes, you're right, but I just love the sound of this thing. I wanted to buy Xpressor first, but I think I will go with this baby (more difference in the mix), compressors are everywhere, but "color and life" is the most important thing for me while I'm recording dead synths, kicks, basses etc. in EDM land:)) I work in Korg Kronos workstation (I hate computer daw workflow when creating ...) and Korg has SC in every corner, Japan knows ... :)
@@b.hornetiii.6771 hahaha. I hear ya! Makes sense. I believe you that its a wonderful color box. Who knows what they will bring next . Maybe a Karacter Neo with sc :-)
If you use it as an "insert" in your DAW, you can use Pro-Q to cut the lows (shelf) and then boost it after the insert. It'll create a "phase coherent" SC HPF effect. For example : - Insert 1 : Pro Q shelf -10db at 60hz - Insert 2 : Hardware Insert Elysia. - Insert 3 : Pro Q. Copy the same instance but instead of -10db put +10db. Pro Q can null when stacking -10db and +10b (if copy pasting all the other settings). So it makes the saturator react less to the lows that way. And you can even do it with any frequency actually. Yes a SC HPF would be better, but in the meantime it can work ;).
The results on the 808 is amazing!!
This thing is just awesome on 808 🔥🔥🔥

If you folks ever plan to make a eurorack version, I'd like serial number 1 please ;)
unfortunately we didn't have that big demand to be able to develop eurorack versions of our products.
The rack version has CV over mix and drive, just put it near your eurorack and you're basically there.
Sounds awesome! Would love a multiband version of this in order to be able to choose areas i want to work with more accuracy at

Ach du scheiße, wollte mir eigentlich gleich einen Analog Heat kaufen……… 😩
Und jetzt steht man da, wieder am Anfang 🍻
So contrary to how the plugin behaves, the right-channel on/off button simply loses functionality in M/S mode?
yes, you're right!
Ah, that sounds great, if only it had a high pass filter before the saturation. And a low pass after.
And...
agreed. A high pass before saturation would go a long way already

Really missing a SC filter on all of these devices
I was trying to hear the difference but he kept talking so I couldn't hear the change in MS mode smh.
Can I use this device with my regular stereo setup, just to listen to music?
Maybe between Preamp and Amp?
that is possible, but the karacter for stereo music editing is rather to be used with caution.
The xfilter would be more suitable.
not gain matched. pointless
