I am a newcomer to Canada and will have my own business, car, and house in 2 years. I am an accountant and also a Ph.D. in business management. The good news is that I am familiar with all topics that you have mentioned but taking them into action is a little bit hard for me. My boss encourages me to make my own company, and he has a positive mindset towards money, telling me he has achieved all the financial goals that he set at the starting of the company. His positive attitude toward money surrounds me, and I hope I can achieve it.

Brian, I find your wisdom so inspirational now in this difficult time! In UK we are entering a month long lockdown that severely restricts work options + lifestyle choices. In fact, I am becoming very unimaginative! My immediate goal is to own my own home in England (lots of bigger goals for later!) so I am going to take the next 3 months building new income streams. I teach + perform piano but this is very slow just now! I aim to listen to one of your videos each day on waking, before exercise, to develop my money mindset. My new motto for myself is "make music make money!" as I believe in the acres of diamonds concept! Thank you for your inspirational + motivational videos. I first listened to 21 Secrets of Self Made Millionaires 20 years ago, and although I have not made a lot of money since, I have enjoyed a very productive life!!

The only way to pick yourself up + move forward is to develop a positive mental attitude. You simply reject negative thoughts + only allow yourself to view everything from a positive innovative angle. Any habit takes just 21 days to replace a bad habit so begin today!

Look at it like this. At any one moment your brain can hold a positive or negative image of any reality. Like photography before the digital age. You choose one or the other. Negative means rejection. Positive allows connection and innovation. You choose. I liken it to diet. I can choose a diet based on factory processed foods high in salt, sugar, carbs, additives (negative)..or I can choose a diet based on natural proteins, vegetables and whole grains. Positive. Do you imagine in the long term my body will respond to the two diet options? Thus you choose your mental options. You either choose innovation, see how you can craft opportunities from difficulty, or you choose to be a loser + focus on the negative. It's entirely up to you.

According to your question, I just paid back 90k two years early. I am now 100% debt free. The thing that I noticed about your video is that you said that you shouldn't be an ascetic to be successful. You have to reward yourself regularly. That's something I learned years ago that revolutionized my life. The only reason to gain resources is to reward yourself with good living, but in a responsible way.

Financial Goals: I'm an artist and my plan is to become a highschool art teacher, live within my means, invest perhaps a bit more than 20% maybe 30% or more towards stocks or a savings account. After school I plan on working on my personal artwork, over a period of time I plan on accruing the wealth while continuing to refine my personal artwork. If either the personal wealth builds up or the artwork picks up, I hope to move on from highschool art teaching to perhaps becoming a private teacher and/or focusing more exclusively on my art. I do also plan to give back and I would like to always be in a position where at least once a week I am contributing my knowledge and skills towards educating underpriveleged kids and/or adults. That's my plan for now!

I started to work on my budget a couple of months ago due to over spending, owing the landlord back rent and it always felt like a struggle till i finished reading you were born rich and i changed completely.
    1. First i work out all of my bills IE gas, electric, internet and so on, i have a savers account i drop all the bill money in and pay the bills as and when needed.
    2. 20% of the money comes next and is dropped into a savers account to pay off the remainder of the back rent
    3. 10% of the money goes into a savers account for long term saving
    4. Food budget goes into a savers account
    5. The rest goes on luxuries and so on.
It's only been a couple of months but it's really helped me to overcome the mess of my money problems. One of the best things my bank let me do was open up multiple savers accounts so i can keep everything separate and accounted for. Life is on the up slowly :)
