- If you are preparing for prelims 2024 and still you are getting less than 60 marks in mock test, then this is a dangerous thing. Which means that you are not doing the review properly. Your focus during a review should be that whatever mistakes I am doing, I should learn from those mistakes. First of all, you have to see that was the mistake I made a factual or conceptual mistake. Conceptual mistake can be something like, I didn't understand the definition of inflation. Factual mistake can be something like, which institution's report is this? If you are making conceptual errors the most, that means you have to spend a lot more time revising right now. Prioritize on that basis. If you are not remembering the factual things, then you will have to do the current affairs again.

UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

Thanks a lot for this clarity. But what if some of the mistakes are based on factual things from the basic sources itself?
In case you're making conceptual errors - focus on reviewing them from the basics again.
Do these to make it stick in the long run:
1. Explain the concept to yourself by speaking out loud.
2. Think of examples of how the concept would apply in real life.
3. Think of cases where the concept would NOT apply.
Do this and you won't make mistakes in the basics 90-95% of the time.

ab mere km marks nahi aa rhe hein, thanks to you sir. kbhi kbhi kisi ki dant or criticism bhi aapko aage badhne k liye motivate kr dete hein. bt kbhi kbhi not always.....😂😂😂 vese teacher ko dantne ka pura haq hota hai kyon ki vo dant bhi hmare bhale k liye hoti hai. thank u once again.
But some coachings make a very tough paper,so scoring below 60 marks is also okay,if the questions can not be solved through standard sources like spectrum, laxmikant etc
Environment mai hi aa rhe h bs 80-110 ke beech bs baki subjects mai theek h 150+ h😢
As exam days came nearer , anxiousnes of not doing enough increases. How to overcome this anxiety ? It sometimes in hinder the productivity of the day.

A-: statement 1 and 2 is correct and statement 1 is correct explanation of 2
B-: statement 1 and 2 is correct and statement 1 is NOT correct explanation of 2
