Learned so much from this guide! Thanks a lot :D I just have a general question regarding sorc shoes and shadowflame. I was under the impression they were good against tanks who build MR because of the magic pen and help against shields they give. Are they not good against tanks for that reason?
A lot of people think that magic pen is good against tanks but flat magic pen is not. Sorcs/shadowflame give flat magic pen. Lets say you're up against a tank with 200 mr. If you build sorc boots + shadowflame u have around 40 magic pen. his 200 mr goes to 160 which is still alot, so rather than stacking flat magic pen, get void instead, which gives 40% magic pen. (40% of 200 mr = 80 magic pen) Thats why flat magic pen not that good against mr stackers, instead go for ability haste + void. Against squishies who dont have alot of mr, flat magic pen like sorc boots/ludens/shadowflame is rly good and you will basically deal true damage if they dont build any mr. hope this gives you a better understand of how it works
I love Taliyah because she's like ahri in a way. Rly weak early but amazing at skirmishing and fighting small battles. Then hits a powerspike and just starts blowing people up

First strike is better most of the time because of that yea. Saphire start is also doable without futures market so its not 100% necessary. And even then you can still go for electro/futures market secondary. But yea first strike def got better cuz of this meta.

Yes, different players have different mental blocks against certain champs so just ban what you hate. My opinion or any other opinion shouldn’t matter.
@@Odysseus131 In the LCK, around 50% of Mid Taliyah games the player takes unsealed spellbook so I was just curious why it was so prevelant there. To me, it feels really nice being able to get a quick back early game and TP to mid, then swap to a summoner spell.
I see you play with quick cast indicators on, I get how important it is to know where your W is. But doesn't it feel clunky to you? Also, what do you think about ghost? And last question, I noticed I find last hitting with spells quite hard until a higher level when Q CD is lower and items do more damage. Somehow I miss judge the 2nd-5th stone damage all the time. Any tips to better judge this and or get farm up in general?
It doesnt feel clunky to me since Ive played with this setting for 10 years now. I think ghost is great and I often run it. farming and knowing your damage just comes down to experience and comes with time

Stats aren't awful surely? Even if they are, who cares when you can slow for days, kite for weeks. My fav passive for ranged AP in the game. Maybe works better in jungle and supp? The reason I dont like the item is because it gives you alot less damage, yes you get a slow on your q but Taliyah already has a 3 second slow on her boulder and a slow on her E, slows don’t stack so rylais only works on your Q1. 75 ap 400 health is okay stats for an 2600 item but other mage items give 100 ap + ability haste/magic pen.

Most of the time no Rylais doesn’t offer alot of damage or ability haste and as a jungler/midlaner your job is to carry. Perhaps if you already have a lot of damage elsewhere in your teamcomp you can try it out on mid.
i have a question, you say at the video that magic pen boots are good if they don't have tanks? aren't magic pen boots supposed to kill tanks instead of ionian ? thanks for the guide
Flat magic pen loses value against people who stack MR. Better to get ability haste for better E-W uptime and get void which is % magic pen. Where as against targets with no mr, getting magic pen boots make it so you get closer to dealing true damage.
Hey man, wondering if this guide is still relevant for taliyah, if you maybe made a new one and also wanted to ask what do you think of taliyah apc bot? i've been binging your stream on the side a little lately and was wondering bout the items too, i see you building seraph way less than said in this video (maybe im just stupid tho) and instead playing more cosmic drive/horizon focus so maybe im a bit confuse on that aswell
most of it is still relevant yeah, at 6:15 I talk about presence of mind instead of seraphs. at the time of making this video seraphs was a must have item on any mage but they nerfed it a while after so its no longer necessary to go seraphs. and cosmic/horizon are broken items on taliyah so yea I build those alot these days. as for taliyah bot; it can work but you're very reliant on your support picking a good champ and your jungle strongsiding you which is really random in soloq.

Even with these new taliyah buffs do you still think old taliyah is better ? I have never played the old Takoyaki so it looks like new one is better with aoe dmg in Q and the shape of the E

Its still good as a 2nd or 3rd item, seraphs itself gives 70 ap but if its fully stacked it gives around 110 ap
