Not sure if Oda was inspired by the real story of Ishikawa or just his execution. Ishikawa was sentenced to be boiled alive along his child, but when they were tossed to the boiling oil, Ishikawa grabed his child and lifted him up, saving his life. This act was so impressive, they decided to spare his child as respect for his chadness.

Kaido killing the old woman was something I actually respected him for; he wanted to defeat Oden by himself and saw her interference as disrespectful to both himself and Oden. Orochi of course did not care and I believe the old man died of natural causes, but in an indirect round about way, Kaido kind of made the catalyst that saved Luffy from Impel Down since Bon Clay got the face changer fruit some time after the old woman died. Oden's death, while sad and beautiful with how he still smiled at the end, was of course not in vain. Oden is a badass gigachad and one of OP's best historical characters alongside Roger and Whitebeard.
Losing Oden, same with Ace and Whitebeard, felt like a death of a main character. They never felt like side characters on how this series continuously revolves around them. I also believe, Oda can create a separate series for each of them (and it will still be great) based on their captivating personalities, interesting backstories, and compelling character development.

It has to do with the translation of the line "Niete Nanbo no Oden ni Sōrō!" which can be interpreted in alot of ways in Japanese. You could also translate it to "It's the perfect day to boil some Oden!" or "This is the time [for me] to boil(,) Oden!". What Oda really meant by using this old formal Japanese is a mystery only he himself can answer. But as many times I think he lets his readers room for interpretation.
The final hurrah of the CHAD of Wano was truly legendary and fitting of Oden's character. Those who didn't cry certainly felt like chads themselves. I ugly cried and felt like a chad at the same time lol

The problem is that Wano is a country with closed borders and contact to the outside is strictly prohibited. One of the main tasks of the Shogun was to keep Wano closed until Joyboy appears. Getting Whitebeard involved would probably have brought the WG to Wano. It's very likely that Wano is so high above sea level because this way it is protected from the weapon Imu used against Lulucia kingdom.

Yeah it's too often that a character has a barrier of some sort just for it to get broken and after that it's nothing special anymore. Often a bit of a letdown. If it was something all characters can do sure but if it's a unique ability it should pretty much be indestructible. You can give it another weakness for example needing a lot of concentration to keep up or be limited in other ways to still keep it balanced.
I agree. I feel like Kaido has a greater sense of honor than he lets on, but doesn't let it get in the way of his goals. Goals that, as of now in the manga, still aren't very clear. It's very hard to get a read on Kaido, tbh.

That was the last straw You don't make deals with a snake, so Oden and his nine red scabbards sought off to slay a dragon and end the hardship once and for all. In motion it would cause the moment pivotal to the present, and also the Hour of Legends chikuwa and eggs The element of surprise however was lost, Kaido was waiting, an informant? a spy? It mattered not then, ten samurai and the defected Shinobu - a witness to the deal - against Kaido's force en masse. Even Kaido himself said that had Oden simply done this sooner he wouldn't have stood a chance, and yet Kaido almost lost despite time itself. This was in mine opinion the best and hypest backstory in the whole history of all animes and it put the huge meaning for Wano arc and the whole history of One Piece i dont think there will be better than this backstory until the end of One Piece

It was the Kozuki clan who ordered the hunting down of the Kurozumi Clan, and all the other clans agreed. I dont believe in an eye for an eye, at least I dont want to, but if Orochi has to pay for the sins of his ancestors, I sort of get why he is taking revenge by making everyone else suffer. Again, I dont condone it, it isnt an excuse, but it is an explanation and valid depending on your beliefs.

The One Piece world, is the home of Chads. Roger, who lived his best life despite his illness, and smiled at his end. Whitebeard, who lived and died for the men he called "sons". Shanks, who gave his left arm, to save a little boy's life. Brook, who stayed living alone for 50 years, fueled on nothing but his promise to his comrades. Tom, Senor Pink, Noland, Kyros, Kuma, Viper, the list goes on. In my humble opinion, Oden holds the title of The No. 1 Chad.
Orochi's case is one where his hate against the Kozuki clan and Wano IS justified, but that doesn't justify his actions. He has every right to hate them for his unfair persecution, but what he doesn't understand is that destroying the lives of innocent people is a completely separate matter, not an extension of that right. Becoming Shogun is a way to defend himself and his clan from the persecution, but had he wanted to, he could have been a good ruler after ascending the throne, in fact, it would even be the best way to clear his clan's name. But he didn't, he actively became the WORST ruler he could, purely out of spite and for his own amusement.

I agree. I feel like Kaido has a greater sense of honor than he lets on, but doesn't let it get in the way of his goals. Goals that, as of now in the manga, still aren't very clear. It's very hard to get a read on Kaido, tbh.

- 24 years ago Wano was attacked by the Gecko Pirates led by Moria (age 26) where they clashed with the Beast Pirates in Ringo where Moria not only lost to Kaido (age 35), but this is also when Kaido killed his entire crew (which led to him forming the Thriller Bark Pirates later on with Hogback joining last as the Mysterious 4 after 14 years ago due to Cinrdy’s death) while he obtained the body of Ryuma & his sword Shusui
- It is too bad to what happed to Hyogoro’s wife being shot to death while Hyogoro was dragged to Udon Prison Mine (in the manga this was only mentioned) & I do hope that in a future SBS or Vivre Card data that Oda will give her a name while some additional info
- As 10 Samurai march with the sun behind them with the color of red & their burning passion people gave them the name the Akazaya Kunin Otoko / Akazaya Nine / 9 Red Scabbards, but the name reminds me of the movie the 7 Samurai while their story is more similar to the 47 Rounin (also called the Akou Incident) where in the 18th century a band of rounin plot to get revenge for their master who was killed
- The blonde woman in the crowd who Oden saved is named O-Hana (which hana means “flower”)
- Tougen Totsuka (means "Peach Meadow Ten Fists”) / Paradise Totsuka which is a reference to the 4 Totsuka-no-Tsurugi which 1 of them being Ama no Hibakiri the same as Oden’s sword
I Think Orichie is the one of the only character's is the history of One Piece.. no Anime. that got an Sad backstory and still was despised and hated.
At least for me that's how it is, He might have gotten an Sad backstory but it didn't diminish the hate at all I have for him.

Antagonist don't need to be charismatic or "POWERFUL" to be well written and he is basically the introduction to Luffy about how the New World is out of his reach (his final warning) and next arc, the crew got destroyed, and Luffy was like an ant in the middle of Marineford Storm)
All this why he's the most underrated Warlord in my opinion

In the anime they didn't show it, but in the manga Kaido was way more devastated from Oden's attack. Oden was about to defeat or maybe kill Kaido. And also they showed as if Kaido attacked Oden from the back, but in reality his attack was already about to land when Oden turn around. FYO.

It was the Kozuki clan who ordered the hunting down of the Kurozumi Clan, and all the other clans agreed. I dont believe in an eye for an eye, at least I dont want to, but if Orochi has to pay for the sins of his ancestors, I sort of get why he is taking revenge by making everyone else suffer.

Coolest death in all of One Piece
Orochi's case is one where his hate against the Kozuki clan and Wano IS justified, but that doesn't justify his actions.
He has every right to hate them for his unfair persecution, but what he doesn't understand is that destroying the lives of innocent people is a completely separate matter, not an extension of that right.
Becoming Shogun is a way to defend himself and his clan from the persecution, but had he wanted to, he could have been a good ruler after ascending the throne, in fact, it would even be the best way to clear his clan's name. But he didn't, he actively became the WORST ruler he could, purely out of spite and for his own amusement.
