And plus he talks about 'alternate universes' where he and McGucket went to with their crew, and when one of his men touched himself from the other universe, the entire universe went unstable and ceased to exist. of course stanford and mcgucket got out of there alive along with their crew.

For who wrote the journals on Gravity Falls, I personely bilieve it is Stan. Yes thats right, uncle Stan. I mean, why would he have the 1st journal in the first place? He warns Mabel and Dipper about strange stuff. He pretended to not know about the wierd things happening in Gravity Falls. How would he even know about the strange things happening. Aside from him living there for a long time. He probably used what he wrote in the journals to help with the mystery shack. Until Dipper and Mabel came. He didn't want them to know about the mysterious things happening. In one of the episodes, he makes a unicorn and calls it a capricorn, or whatever he called it. And later on another episode, 2 paranormal investigators check a journal. They flip to a page and find a capricorn. Stan used the book to inspire him for the mystery shack.
If he wrote the journals in the first place why would he need them? He would know everything inside them already. Plus once he got them all wouldn't he say "I have them all back" or "I have them all again".
I think I have cracked it here we go what happened was when dipper and marble went back in time she left a calculator now old man mc gukit was a baby then and could have started messing with it making him a more advanced person giving him the technological know how to build oh I don't know a robot also this gave him a love for strange things that he looked for around his childhood until he met stan they started to work together on cracking the mysteries of gravity falls and got to work on a journal about it book 1/2 but stan wanted to use these to find things and wanted to open a museum full of the secrets and creatures when mc gukit found out he took the books so stan couldn't reveal the secrets forcing him open the mystery shack and con people with fake stuff this made him mad and he tried to get the 2 books back but stan found out that mc gukit had found new stuff and had put it in book 3 plus put in the diagram for that portal thing since mc gukit is the smartest guy in gravity falls he could build that remember he did build dozens of robots so stan tried to take the books but only got book 1 this betrayal traumatised mc gukit and he decided to hide the books where stan couldn't get them before he went mad also this explains some things like the wax figures and body swapping rug stan was trying to put his shack into glory but shut them down probably because he knew mc gukit would try to stop him that also explains why mc gukit said " are the wax figures alive" because he was trying to subtlety warn the twins because he knew they knew things like this also this explains the stan is not what he seems as mc gukit knew he had to warn people about stan's intentions but there is one loose end why would he help Gideon well I think his better judgment was clouded by his insanity well try to poke a hole in that story

well the author had to be smart 30 years ago around the time McGucket went crazy. I will also guess he is male due to one line said in the journals on the portal page "maybe girls will finally talk to me" and i am not sure if Disney would want to cross the lesbian line just yet but you never know. so it is a smart male of at least 50 i am guessing (giving him 20 years to be smart and 30 years after McGuckets "forgetting" episode he had) OR someone with the ability to time travel and is still a smart male. I am not saying blendin wrote them because he would probably be fired on the spot if he just went jumping around time doing stuff like that but he does get tricked into losing his machine easy. However Soos is unlikely to be the writer due to being shown not knowing Bill Cipher in Dreamscapers when the book illustrates his existence and weakness. Even if the image was real at the time, mguckett (sorry for the spelling if i got it wrong) had six fingers on his right hand, while the author of the journals was clearly left handed due to the cover. So he could have just been adding in the extra hints and clues that dipper uses on his adventures.

I think I have cracked it here we go what happened was when dipper and marble went back in time she left a calculator now old man mc gukit was a baby then and could have started messing with it making him a more advanced person giving him the technological know how to build oh I don't know a robot also this gave him a love for strange things that he looked for around his childhood until he met stan they started to work together on cracking the mysteries of gravity falls and got to work on a journal about it book 1/2 but stan wanted to use these to find things and wanted to open a museum full of the secrets and creatures when mc gukit found out he took the books so stan couldn't reveal the secrets forcing him open the mystery shack and con people with fake stuff this made him mad and he tried to get the 2 books back but stan found out that mc gukit had found new stuff and had put it in book 3 plus put in the diagram for that portal thing since mc gukit is the smartest guy in gravity falls he could build that remember he did build dozens of robots so stan tried to take the books but only got book 1 this betrayal traumatised mc gukit and he decided to hide the books where stan couldn't get them before he went mad also this explains some things like the wax figures and body swapping rug stan was trying to put his shack into glory but shut them down probably because he knew mc gukit would try to stop him that also explains why mc gukit said " are the wax figures alive" because he was trying to subtlety warn the twins because he knew they knew things like this also this explains the stan is not what he seems as mc gukit knew he had to warn people about stan's intentions but there is one loose end why would he help Gideon well I think his better judgment was clouded by his insanity well try to poke a hole in that story
my hole in your theory is you forgot about the bill cypher wheel because mc gukit didn't know about dipper and mayble before the moved to gravity falls an there on it

I have a pretty good theory, it's Dipper and Mabel's... MOTHER... and don't say "Oh it's not a girl" or "she doesn't live there"... but the author's gender hasn't been confirmed, and even in one of the episodes it says the author traveled and maybe while she was traveling she met Dipper and Mabel's father and she settled down possibly 30 years ago, also Dipper and Mabel's Mom is Stan's sister so she did live there at one point... well the author had to be smart 30 years ago around the time McGucket went crazy. I will also guess he is male due to one line said in the journals on the portal page "maybe girls will finally talk to me" and i am not sure if Disney would want to cross the lesbian line just yet but you never know. so it is a smart male of at least 50 i am guessing (giving him 20 years to be smart and 30 years after McGuckets "forgetting" episode he had) OR someone with the ability to time travel and is still a smart male. I am not saying blendin wrote them because he would probably be fired on the spot if he just went jumping around time doing stuff like that but he does get tricked into losing his machine easy. A part of me wants to say Soos is the author and he had the time machine from tricking blendin before or another time traveler. i say this due to how he loves the mystery shack so much and it would make since to love a place that remind you of good times working and we got the message "the handyman is smarter than it seems" right around the time we first learned there was a secret society in gravity falls in the gravity falls video game which was after the leaked image. i believed they planed to change the author since that game release and they may have told us up front. the likeliness of that though is still quiet small though. any of you got ideas?

if you didn't know, after the episode with that creature that can take the form of anything or anybody Soos brings with him a suitcase wich actualy is a laptop. in the following episode, Dipper tries to decode it but he couldn'n.and if you saw the episode you could've seen that there are 7 space that must be fulled with letters or digits i mean a password of 7 characters or digits. and in the episode when Soos takes the video game with the virtual girlfriend you can see on his computer a tiny piece of paper. on that paper was writen : Password: fixinit. fixinit has exactly 7 characters. strange right?

However Soos is unlikely to be the writer due to being shown not knowing Bill Cipher in Dreamscapers when the book illustrates his existence and weakness. You could say Soos has amnesia but that could leave an infinite number of possibilities.

Even if the image was real at the time, mguckett (sorry for the spelling if i got it wrong) had six fingers on his right hand, while the author of the journals was clearly left handed due to the cover. So he could have just been adding in the extra hints and clues that dipper uses on his adventures.

I think it could be faked,that is so because in a episode in seson 2 when Mc Gucket gets his memory back he says that he has worked with the author,but can not recall who it is due to not having his full memory back so i would say a 50 percent chance it could be him but he does not remember it,or it could be a old pal of his,that is most likley"laying low" that is not shown in the series yet to leave suspence.This is just a suggestion that everyone should think about
