Thanks so much, mate, this was brilliant! I'm embarrased to say I've had my Profiler for a year and a half now, and I wasn't aware of more than half of all the great tips you've shared here. For example, I had no idea you could create performances in the Rig Manager. What a time-saver. Cheers!
Nothing embarrassing about that at all. I didn’t even use rig manager other than for importing profiles for the first 6 months of owning mine. Glad it was a helpful video 👍
Just got my Kemper Stage today. Your videos prepared me a bit, and now i'm continuing with them now that i can actually follow along with something in-hand. I'm subscribing right now-your videos are incredibly helpful. Thank you, sir.
@@DanLeggatt I love it, had a positive grid bias head before and the kemper is another level. i use it with a fcb1010. Have a marshall 410 profile that is killer :) Do you always go direct or do you use a cab on stage?
@@johnpg3879 On stage it’s almost always a cab for stage volume and in ear monitors. I’ve got a Kemper rig tour on here somewhere if you’re interested in any more info about how I set it up for live use 🙂
Just upgraded the OS on the KEMPER to 8.0x and am starting new on the Rig Manager. This was helpful - thank you. I think I will have to watch it a bit more while experimenting real time so I can absorb it all. But so far it looks exceptionally handy. easier then tinkering around with the knobs on the face of the unit. which is not too difficult once you get the hang of it.
Great tips thanx Dan. I love the "T" for toggle effect off & on & using the arrow buttons for rig navigation & auto loading - Cheers. I am not sure if you can do this on a mac, but you can open a separate window from left side (especially useful with two screens) & drag drop a rig from one window to the other; for example, new performance slots.
Hi Dan thanks for another great vid, after watching ,I plugged in the MacBook and hey presto 👍👍👍👍 I learnt about morphing from your vid ,but have been programming the head itself . Take care and keep up the good work Baz
Thanks Dan. I lost my mojo to play two years ago but feel it's on it's way back, and lo and behold - rig manager's got a graphical interface now! Can't wait to install it and pick up one of my axes again :) Cheers
Hi Dan, "simply" Brilliant. Thank you for this Rig (manager) Run Down, I thought I had worked out all the ways of using Rig Manager but "No", yet again you have shown me some stuff I didn't know. I don't think your playing was up to much this time, Lol. Thank you again.
Hello!! Great video!! Can I ask you a question? My band does around a 100 tunes. My question is that it seems that each rigs output volume to the board is never consistent. Our sound person has to tweak my volume on virtually every song. Any thought on how to level that out so it behaves like a miked amp? Thank you!!
If there’s a lot out there on getting rig manager and the kemper hooked up on my MacBook, I’d be greatful for a link. I SIMPLY can’t find that anywhere!!
I do have a question. How can I change the value of the Transpose with the key board. Know how with th mouse, but can a bit hard hitting the right number. There must be a way the key board. Thank you...BTW Love your profiles wayne
This is super helpful and really opens up the Kemper effects. Could anyone help me with a morphing question? I press cmd on my mac keyboard and can then change the toe and heel values. I don't know how to exit this mode though. Every time I go to another parameter, I am still in morph mode. Would really like to know what I'm doing wrong. Cheers again!
Dan a quick Kemper question for you when you get a minute. What speaker setting would you recommend for recording on a DAW. Pure cabinet on or pure cabinet off...? Cheers
Hi excelent video thanks for posting it. Is there a way to change the amp in a performance? I can right click on the effects and change them but it seems there is no option to choose a different amp.
Someone else has suggested that, I didn’t know it was possible but it could be. I haven’t been back on rig manager yet to check. It would be very handy.
Dan I realsie this was an overview of the rig manager in general. I'm new to Kemper and was a bit dissapointed in some of the sounds available whenI first went into Rig Exchange as well as the Rigs already on the Kemper that I bought. Had discovered the Cabinet adjustment and your right very little movement makes a huge difference as does the Direct Mix and the Definition Key. Inthe end rigs that I wasn't impressed iwth became quite nice after I phaphed about with the various controls.. Have you done a video that goes into these controls in more depth same question for Freeze etc in the remote... Very helpful video thank you again..
Hi Dan, is there any quick way to navigate through effects in real time to compare them? Anytime I select a reverb it just comes off the menu and if I wanna try something else I need to go all the way back into the menu. Cheers!
OK, I've got a question for you. I'm using my Kemper stage and rig manager on a Windows PC. I sync back and forth update 1 to the other, seamless and easy. Then my laptop dies. I grab my ipad which has a different, outdated set of rigs from the same stage unit. No big deal, I keep working and editing as I always have . Now I get my Windows PC back from repair and I plug it in.... does the profiler PUSH TO the PC, or does the PC push the old versions to the profiler?
Dan great video for me as a newbie to the KPA. I just bought a 2nd hand kemper today and don't know how to add my profile / my kemper. Does it creat a 'file' when I link my Kemper with a USB Cable..?
Once you have your Kemper plugged in via usb, rig manager will find it once it’s launched. As long as the Kemper OS and rig manager versions are compatible. All updates are available from the Kemper site if not 👍
@@DanLeggatt thanks for that response Dan. Connected with a usb cable with the male A to Male B type connection but the profiler is a no show. I downloaded the latest rig manager and the Kemper is showing the relase version as 7.3.1.16224 Ill try to find out if the Kmper has the latest update on it.
@@DanLeggatt Cheers Dan From what I can gleen I am currently running my 2nd hand kemper with 7.3.1so it looks like the previous owner didn't upgrade it recently. The Rig manager that I downloaded is the latest version 3.0.140. From what you are saying these are currently incompatable. I think what I have to do now is upgrade to 7.3.2 then I can go to the latest upgrade at OS 8.0.2. In turn hopefully, the rig manager will recognise my upgraded Kemper and it should be all good... Does that make sense to you. Thanks for the help so far
@@jimsmith4611 yes that sound right and should do the job. You can actually download legacy versions (older) of rig manager on the Kemper site if I remember correctly. However if you go to the latest OS for the Kemper you do get some extra fx and stuff 👍

How do I copy my local library to another computer? I have bought a new mac and I can't manage to keep the local library I have in my old iMac in my new laptop.
I just connected my rig manager and updated it, there's a yellow warning sign next to my profiler and won't let me use it. Any idea what could be going on?
Hello and thank you, I can only agree with everyone else. I've been using a helix so far. For a few days to "try" the Kemper. the presets alone are absolutely great. Turn on cool sound. Don't tweak so much until you hear something good. Top video about RigManager in German is hard to find, then came across this video. First understand the new terms. You think there are only a few buttons;) But then it's different. I only have very few amps under "All Presets>"? Is that correct ? How do I build my own new ones, uh, now it's called rigs (under Line6 Presets, ggrr) thx from German
If you mean presets, on the Kemper that is for FX settings. If you mean you don’t have many amps in your rig folder. You can add profiles to your rig library from rig exchange or paid sites.
The real shortcoming here is the storing process (at least in my system) Only sometimes the stuff I edit in the editor will be stored in my KEMPER Stage. Either the storing workflow is too complicated for my simple mind or there is something wrong.
FYI.. this is IMPORTANT... you can only DUPLICATE a LOADED RIG. You can't just duplicate a rig that is selected, it must be LOADED for PREVIEW with the headphones. This is does not work like a typical file browser. If the RIG is not not loaded, the DUPLICATE BUTTON will not appear. YOU CAN ONLY duplicate a RIG that is stored in you LOCAL LIBRARY.. so you would have to copy a rig from a RIG PACK to your local library before duplicating. Thanks for your tutorial.
I could never figure out why it wouldn't save performances. I even tried updating the firmware again but it just wouldn't save so I got rid of it. Too bad. It would've been ideal for me.
