This game is amazing. You can catching whatever you like. Imagine if Pokemon had this mechanic and you roll up to the Elite Four and throw out Prof Oak.
i personally kinda wish the game had evolutions, that's the only thing i've been missing, the progress kinda gets slow and pointless when you get your main pals for the base workforce, but its still a early access who knows if they dont have already the evolving process
For those who are having issues doing this remember: 1. You can skip the intro to give you more time 2. No damage dealt to boss at all. A failed throw counts as damage. 3. It has to be on their back. You have one shot. Still works at least for Steam. Caught enough Zoes to 1 star so far.
It might be different as I’m playing on game pass, but I was able to do it with a regular pal sphere. I think the catch may be guaranteed because it’s a glitch, so it may not matter what pal sphere you use
Just caught my own Zoe and Grizz. If the boss is showing immune on the first sphere, just restart again. You do NOT need to respawn/die. You can exit to the title screen, and when you log in you’ll be outside the tower with all of your items. Just teleport back to town and aggro the guards again. The boss should run to the corner of the map if it triggered correctly. Then you can use your sphere to catch it. If it’s not running to the corner, restart.
I love this game so much. I haven’t played video games with my son since he was young but we both always loved Pokémon together. He’s 23 now and it’s so nice reminiscing.
can confirm this does work, don't press escape let the intro play fully and the window to capture them is small once they are shot for the first time, Marcus and Faleris took me the most amount of times to try and capture.
For everyone having trouble Yes its still working No you do not need to watch the cut scene Tips: once you get to the tower before proceeding in. Make sure to shoot at gaurds until more spawn. This will increase the gaurds going into the boss fight making it more likely to hit the boss. Also running at the boss in the beginning without getting too close greatly increases the chances of the gaurds shooting it. Make sure to hit boss in the back with pal sphere idk if its required but its worked for me and its not too hard. Good luck 💪
this is really funny glitch im on the gamepass version after the update and i can confirm this still works what i learned after trying to get this to work was this 1. it doesnt seem to matter what type of sphere you use as long as you hit the boss on the back 2. it doesnt matter if you skip cutscene or not 3. the best way i had this work was by walking towards the corner and having the boss follow you dont attack the boss whatsoever and wait for it to get hit by the officers once it gets hit the boss should turn to look at the officer that shot it ...the moment it turns around this is the time when you need to throw the sphere if you have the text show that its immune you did something wrong or you were too slow hopefully this helps anyone else struggling to get it to work
@@ginartimade420 Do what the guy said, click on a move name in the Pal's stat screen and if there are available moves they will pop up for you to switch into the usable move pool.
@@-8h- Depends on the move, sometimes there are "exclusive" ones but you can also always use TMs to give them moves if they don't learn it from leveling up.
I just want to add, the guards have to be close to you, I have had them not follow me inside before, when they were further behind me. So just in case, let them get a little closer first.
for those wondering it is not patched you need to get a 2x assault then enter after that while in the boss room you need to get to a 3x assault to make a different police officer spawn. that officer will shoot grizzbolt and cause him to bug out. so the patch just made it so that lvl 30 or higher police with machine guns cant enter so if you spawn one well you are inside it still works
@@zakrogerroger5490yep on steam i think they tried to patch it because if you have 1x or 2x assault only a officer with a pistol will chase you and its really hard for it to shoot the boss and every time i had a 3x assault lvl i wouldnt be able to enter the tower as my game would get stuck loading. so if you get a 2x assault lvl enter and kill the officer to get 3x assault level a officer with a machine gun will spawn in the tower and will shoot the boss pretty easy. it is way harder to do but it works i spent like an hour trying to figure out a way to do it

Still works fine in the current patch and just caught all 5 of the bosses. For the flying bosses which are a bit harder to get the police to attack, it's easier to have one of the boss's attack hit a police officer and they'll switch aggro to the boss. Only hope if they patch it out the already caught bosses don't get removed.
very nice explanation and video... now, i wonder if you can breed them. also, in case people didn't know, when you respawn (or at least if you die) you can respawn and fast travel locations you have never been to, then activate the statue, and go back to your base or wherever.
You can breed them but they function like the base pal. I bred Zoe grizzbolt and got a normal grizzbolt result (I forget what I bred it with but it was a grizzbolt combo)
I sense an extremely dirty joke on the way, but all jokes aside, I think it'd be really cool for this to be an official feature in the game that we can capture/befriend NPCs/Bosses It'd be interesting if you could have Zoe as a follower and if you keep her grizzbolt they interact with one another or something

really exited to try palworld when i finish my university exams next week! I have a couple friend already playing, and we all pondered about catching the "gym" bosses!
This is cool I Wish they would allow you to capture the bosses (with at least a nerfed version) because the OP version of them is outrageous. I'm sure it'll be patched fairly quickly IF they even care lol.
It'll be patched because they want to implement pvp eventually, and clearly, this is way too strong for that. I'd honestly be concerned about possible bans or resets/rollback because of this.

@WDMurphy early access makes easy wipes. And to implement pvp they have to make it live and a pal with those stats and the name flag of the bosses would easily be catchable as a flagged pal. But this is all down the road stuff
Can confirm this is NOT patched. I caught 3 of each boss yesterday and I just caught Victor again now to check. My tip for 100% success rate would be to wait at the tower door before entering to let the guards come near. Shoot one of them and then enter when you get the alert with the eye, skip the cutscene and rush in front of the boss and it should get hit right away (you can tell it worked when he stops attacking and just runs towards a wall).
@Moonlight-sk7tl willisgaming literally says in the video that catching these types of bosses isn't supposed to be a thing. If it was an actual mechanic, why would be be so out of the way to do. I mean, who would think, without being told, to agro a security guard, fast travel to a boss, get the the boss not knowing that NPCs will follow, have them shoot said boss to get a 100% capture? It will be patched in time and like most patches that fix exploits, they will remove boss because it breaks the game. Don't take my word for ut. Just watch. I'll be happy to be proven wrong
It still works - 100%. It’s just that people here are not skilled enough. They always whine because they don’t understand the mechanics. You need to sweat a little and make more than one pass.
From what I saw, the boss doesn't need to go to the corner, but their AI stops working nonetheless. You need to make sure you hit them in the back with the ball as well or it will still fail, I think.
Guys it's not patched they will go right into your palbox even if you have open slots so you have to go back to base open up the pal box they are inside. Just confirmed working on xbox
for anyone wondering you can attack any human npc for example the lady with a gun straight of spawn if you just punch her youll get a wanted level punch the wanted guys get higher level then tp to boss tower and do the glitch also you need to be close to the boss when you through a sphere to catch it
Considering you can "catch" humans I think catching the leaders was probably supposed to happen (maybe without the leaders riding on them), probably on an update. I've caught the 2 you've shown and I'm setup to go after a 3rd on the cold mountain (dam work getting in the way).

Havent encountered a human village before. How does the wanted mechanic work? Are they only hostile for a short bit or until you die? Will they go after friends/guildmates?
Took about 5 attempts to capture zoe and grizzbolt. The timings really tight. But it still works for now on steam. However the boss never wondered over to the corner. Awesome video
HI great guide, simple and easy to follow and no nonsense! to many tubers like to wrap a guide into a 40 mins standard episode and bonus points for being a fellow brit lol PS. there is no guards in that grizzbolt dungeon for me.
You need to get a wanted level by shooting them in the towns first, I think you need to shoot multiple guards, and each NEW guard you shoot will spawn more with a higher level. Then simply walk into any of the towers and they will follow you. The guards are weird in this game where they will spawn around you anywhere you go around the map.
Finally got zoe and grizz. You dont need any special sphere for it, Also, Follow the path he took in the video. Once the boss starts cluelessly moving around, get behind it, because you cant capture it from the front.
Seemingly you can't breed them, at least not two of the same bosses, because theyre always male or female. I tried it with a few Lilly and Lyleenes and they were all always females.
Update from 25.January 2024: This exploit still works. If you fail at any step, just return to main menu and start over. How did do it? I needed about 2-3 Tries to pull it off and I nearly gave up. Guards sometimes didn't spawn for me in tower = Restart and try to get them closer to the entrance, make them also spawn 1-2 more NPC. I had a x3 Multiplier for "Wanted" You can skip the Cutscene, I also did that every single time. I actually threw about 5 Spheres against the boss before it worked, it doesn't matter if the first or Second Balls hit, just try around a little bit. Boss doesn't need to be in the Corner, he just needs to be in this weird Brain AFK mode for a little bit. Be sure to hit the spheres from behind. Can someone test the Sphere Launch with a Guard (Catch Pal and jump on the Sphere) inside the Tower?
@@shadowplays5377 I figured it out. They have to deal damage, then you have to wait until the boss totally focuses on them and hit it in the back. If it isn't totally focused, you still get the 'immune' message, though. Wondering if I can breed them.

so after having caught some and running around a day or so in my solo world, ive noticed if you have them in your party, whichever boss is riding that/those pals, are actually floating above you like 30-40 feet, if you look straight up, you can see the boss(es) that are riding them
Game tutorial: Catch these 5 lamballs for some exp! They're consideres the turorial mobs of the game so just catch them and let them go later Me: Nah, I'd make it my main pal
That's awesome and very interesting about the health bit. FYI it scales with more people in the encounter. For instance when I did it with 2 players the health was like 42k or something so you could potentially do it with 4 players and have an even more insane health version.
@@eramandik i followed the instructions. I shot the Guys ,after thatbi fast travel to the Tower. And when you are in Run around the end Boss since one bullet from the Others Hit him. After that you can Catch him. But use a Green, yellow or Red ball. With the blue one i didnt Work.

it still works, im not sure what happened but the first 2 times i tried it as soon as i got in the boss arena the guards vanished and i thought it was fixed but keep trying i just did this like 5 minutes ago, you can use any pal sphere btw just make sure to hit it in the back when the boss runs to the corner
2 quick questions about this: 1. Can you ride the bosses like open world pal bosses 2. I've read that if you throw a ball at the boss that counts as damage so what do I do if the ball fails to catch on the first throw?
Exit to title screen if the boss gets dmaged by you, and restart the process. You can exit to title once youve caught the boss as well, so you dont have to wait 10min or die
I tried to do it twice, the first time I used a normal ball and the second time I used a hyper sphere... It worked the second time but not the first. I also forgot to throw it at the back the first time so it's possible, might aswell try.
i will point out respawn is only a good idea if your on casual mode, as otherwise your dropping all your items or all your items and pals. You wanna go to title otherwise.
If you catch the boss like this do you get credit for defeating it? I notice when you left it says the word defeated. Does that mean you were defeated or the boss was defeated?
for anyone wanting to do this ill note some things down so you may find it useful. you dont have to watch the full cutscene ignore people saying you do because you just dont, you can use any type of pal sphere, dont bring in your pal, and i saw some people say you need to throw it at their back which i dont think is true, and if youre stuggling to get the guards to attack it you can just make the boss attack them so they attack the boss which i find is way easier.
Is it 100% catch rate or do you still need higher level spheres? Noticed you used a yellow one. Do blue ones work all the same? Feel like as cool as this is, it just gonna make the game too easy. Cant see me using it in my own playthrough but thanks for how well its explained. How did you even find this glitch?
Confirmed the initial basic balls work fine. After you aggro the guy at the base and travel to the boss make sure to aggro the dude there before you go in. From there you can skip the cutscene and get the guys to shoot him. Only took me a minute to catch them twice. Once they shoot him he drops aggro on you and you can run behind them with a basic ball. From there just exit to title and reload. Puts you right back in front of boss room and you can do it again or just use the boss you caught to beat the boss.
FYI not patched. Important thing is you need to use the regular Sphere and not the other ones. Also you don't need the guard to hit them but when they just run away like they lose interest, you hit them with the ball and bob's your uncle or auntie (depending where you are).
Still working - just did it on PC on gamepass. You NEED back bonus! If the boss slow walks into a corner after being shot it is working! If you throw the sphere and it doesn't work it's because you're doing it wrong!
Devs need to let us be able to capture the boss leaders separately cause I want to just go grab Zoe put her in my base and now she's my unwilling best friend for life
STILL WORKS!! Just tried it and got every single tower boss with this same method. Just to be clear make sure you or your tandem pal dont do damage to the boss and right away when the guards have shot the biss you have to throw the pal sphere right away you cannot wait or it wont work if you take even a second too long do make sure they only do damage to it and capture it RIGHT AWAY aftet theyve damaged the boss 🙌🏽 youre welcome 🤌🏻

I tried and still immune aggroed the gunners then teleported waited for cutscene to finish then let they get shot then threw and nothing

Reminder that all these bosses have more powerful moves you can assign for them by clicking one of their preassigned moves after you obtain them.

For the people getting confused saying it’s not working: make sure your misdreavus isnt hovering around your shoulder automatically shooting the boss

You can. I’ve captured a griz just randomly around the level. Same size just not as much HP.

@Moonlight-sk7tl willisgaming literally says in the video that catching these types of bosses isn't supposed to be a thing. If it was an actual mechanic, why would be be so out of the way to do. I mean, who would think, without being told, to agro a security guard, fast travel to a boss, get the the boss not knowing that NPCs will follow, have them shoot said boss to get a 100% capture? It will be patched in time and like most patches that fix exploits, they will remove boss because it breaks the game. Don't take my word for ut. Just watch. I'll be happy to be proven wrong

From what I saw, the boss doesn't need to go to the corner, but their AI stops working nonetheless. You need to make sure you hit them in the back with the ball as well or it will still fail, I think.
Guys it's not patched they will go right into your palbox even if you have open slots so you have to go back to base open up the pal box they are inside. Just confirmed working on xbox

yea, it doesn't even count as defeating them. (I.e you won't get the achievement for it) at least I didn't get the achievements for them.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure you also can’t use them to defeat bosses to get the achievement (I tried on Marcus and falaris and it didn’t work)
for anyone wondering you can attack any human npc for example the lady with a gun straight of spawn if you just punch her youll get a wanted level punch the wanted guys get higher level then tp to boss tower and do the glitch also you need to be close to the boss when you through a sphere to catch it
Considering you can "catch" humans I think catching the leaders was probably supposed to happen (maybe without the leaders riding on them), probably on an update.
I've caught the 2 you've shown and I'm setup to go after a 3rd on the cold mountain (dam work getting in the way).

Havent encountered a human village before. How does the wanted mechanic work? Are they only hostile for a short bit or until you die? Will they go after friends/guildmates?
Took about 5 attempts to capture zoe and grizzbolt. The timings really tight. But it still works for now on steam. However the boss never wondered over to the corner. Awesome video
This game is amazing. Me and a couple friends bought it a recently and just fell in love with it.
HI great guide, simple and easy to follow and no nonsense! to many tubers like to wrap a guide into a 40 mins standard episode and bonus points for being a fellow brit lol PS. there is no guards in that grizzbolt dungeon for me.
You need to get a wanted level by shooting them in the towns first, I think you need to shoot multiple guards, and each NEW guard you shoot will spawn more with a higher level. Then simply walk into any of the towers and they will follow you. The guards are weird in this game where they will spawn around you anywhere you go around the map.
Finally got zoe and grizz. You dont need any special sphere for it, Also, Follow the path he took in the video. Once the boss starts cluelessly moving around, get behind it, because you cant capture it from the front.

Seemingly you can't breed them, at least not two of the same bosses, because theyre always male or female. I tried it with a few Lilly and Lyleenes and they were all always females.
Update from 25.January 2024:
This exploit still works. If you fail at any step, just return to main menu and start over.
How did do it?
I needed about 2-3 Tries to pull it off and I nearly gave up.
Guards sometimes didn't spawn for me in tower = Restart and try to get them closer to the entrance, make them also spawn 1-2 more NPC. I had a x3 Multiplier for "Wanted"
You can skip the Cutscene, I also did that every single time.
I actually threw about 5 Spheres against the boss before it worked, it doesn't matter if the first or Second Balls hit, just try around a little bit.
Boss doesn't need to be in the Corner, he just needs to be in this weird Brain AFK mode for a little bit. Be sure to hit the spheres from behind.
Can someone test the Sphere Launch with a Guard (Catch Pal and jump on the Sphere) inside the Tower?
I tried this and just keep getting the message that it's immune to the spheres.

it worked for me. just make sure that you hit them a few times you want to be wanted and also make sure they shoot the boss a few times just incase
@@shadowplays5377 I figured it out. They have to deal damage, then you have to wait until the boss totally focuses on them and hit it in the back.
If it isn't totally focused, you still get the 'immune' message, though. Wondering if I can breed them.

so after having caught some and running around a day or so in my solo world, ive noticed if you have them in your party, whichever boss is riding that/those pals, are actually floating above you like 30-40 feet, if you look straight up, you can see the boss(es) that are riding them

For Boss Axel & Orserk, I have too shot the guard 1 time inside arena. If not, even boss run to corner it doesn't work.
That's awesome and very interesting about the health bit. FYI it scales with more people in the encounter. For instance when I did it with 2 players the health was like 42k or something so you could potentially do it with 4 players and have an even more insane health version.

@@eramandik i followed the instructions. I shot the Guys ,after thatbi fast travel to the Tower. And when you are in Run around the end Boss since one bullet from the Others Hit him. After that you can Catch him. But use a Green, yellow or Red ball. With the blue one i didnt Work.

Yes, you will need some tries (5 for me). Yes, wait for it to go to the corner. Once you got the clue it will be pretty easy

it still works, im not sure what happened but the first 2 times i tried it as soon as i got in the boss arena the guards vanished and i thought it was fixed but keep trying i just did this like 5 minutes ago, you can use any pal sphere btw just make sure to hit it in the back when the boss runs to the corner
2 questions.
1.: does the grade of the pal sphere matter?
2.: is it still working, or has it been patched already?
2 quick questions about this:
1. Can you ride the bosses like open world pal bosses
2. I've read that if you throw a ball at the boss that counts as damage so what do I do if the ball fails to catch on the first throw?
Exit to title screen if the boss gets dmaged by you, and restart the process.
You can exit to title once youve caught the boss as well, so you dont have to wait 10min or die

I tried to do it twice, the first time I used a normal ball and the second time I used a hyper sphere... It worked the second time but not the first. I also forgot to throw it at the back the first time so it's possible, might aswell try.
i will point out respawn is only a good idea if your on casual mode, as otherwise your dropping all your items or all your items and pals.
You wanna go to title otherwise.

If you catch the boss like this do you get credit for defeating it? I notice when you left it says the word defeated. Does that mean you were defeated or the boss was defeated?
for anyone wanting to do this ill note some things down so you may find it useful. you dont have to watch the full cutscene ignore people saying you do because you just dont, you can use any type of pal sphere, dont bring in your pal, and i saw some people say you need to throw it at their back which i dont think is true, and if youre stuggling to get the guards to attack it you can just make the boss attack them so they attack the boss which i find is way easier.
Is it 100% catch rate or do you still need higher level spheres? Noticed you used a yellow one. Do blue ones work all the same?

Confirmed the initial basic balls work fine. After you aggro the guy at the base and travel to the boss make sure to aggro the dude there before you go in. From there you can skip the cutscene and get the guys to shoot him. Only took me a minute to catch them twice. Once they shoot him he drops aggro on you and you can run behind them with a basic ball. From there just exit to title and reload. Puts you right back in front of boss room and you can do it again or just use the boss you caught to beat the boss.
do you usually get rewards for killing them? If yes, there will be no rewards then?

FYI not patched. Important thing is you need to use the regular Sphere and not the other ones. Also you don't need the guard to hit them but when they just run away like they lose interest, you hit them with the ball and bob's your uncle or auntie (depending where you are).

Still working - just did it on PC on gamepass. You NEED back bonus! If the boss slow walks into a corner after being shot it is working! If you throw the sphere and it doesn't work it's because you're doing it wrong!

Got the Rayne tower just an hour ago with this guide and a regular pal sphere, might have got lucky but still worked
STILL WORKS!! Just tried it and got every single tower boss with this same method. Just to be clear make sure you or your tandem pal dont do damage to the boss and right away when the guards have shot the biss you have to throw the pal sphere right away you cannot wait or it wont work if you take even a second too long do make sure they only do damage to it and capture it RIGHT AWAY aftet theyve damaged the boss 🙌🏽 youre welcome 🤌🏻
