Before Kamado is confronted at the temple of Sinnoh, Benji mentions that he and Kamado lost their home, families, and previous life in a horrible disaster involving pokemon, given the Galarian armour remark, and the timeline, could the 'horrible disaster' be the 'darkest day' maybe?
Kamado mentions that he lived in Celestica Village, which is in ruins in Hisui. The written verses mention a group of people that arrived in Hisui and donned the Celestica title, a title previously used by a then extinct civilization. It is possible Kamado is one of the last members of the "new" Celestica people, but is originally from the Galar region, if that makes sense.

The real world equivalent of it is the Colonization of Hokkaido in Japan, around 1869. Pokemon doesn't need to follow real life but I don't think this is thousands of years in the past. There are crumbling ruins there that look far more ancient than anything else.

That last bit still doesn't take away the playability of this game, and I can't remember the last time I sunk hours at a time into a game like this.

Johto has such a rich history, and with it being next door to Kanto the possibilities there are really epic. I haven't put so many hours into a Pokemon game in such a short time since picking up my White 2 preorder years ago.

No held items kinda makes sense? Pokemon in Hisui are a complete enigma to humans (and they're scared of them) so not having held items could work. But then you have them naturally hold items in previous games so idk. This game also doesn't really focus on battling or competitive aspects that a lot of held items add. I never really noticed the lack of held items but maybe that's on me.

Legends arceus is probably one of my favourite pokemon games out there. Just wished that the pokemon had their abilities. It would've made battles a bit more interesting. But other than that, the game is a very good starting point for gamefreak. Im exicted for whats to come. Also im hoping that in the dlc you can enter the space time distortion to end up in modern day Hisui (Sinnoh) and then have like an entire remake of the gen 4 games akin to ORAS. But maybe im being too optimistic.

My favorite thing about the new game is that the intro and main battle themes are separate which really builds the mood when getting into battle because the main theme doesn't start until the battle does. It's a detail I didn't know I needed XD
Maybe not a sequel but rather some logs or lore you can find in a game which explains the origins of the Pokemon league. Also would be cool if there was another game like this but for Unova

It's not really dead. If anything, fans need to stop being so judgmental and attached to the previous gens for all of their pros cuz even though G8 is flawed, there are some things they got right much like how the past gens got some things wrong (including Gen 5, the most beloved).

People put too much damn stock into graphics deciding if a game is good (a 'turnoff'). Be thankful it isn't Bubsy 3D, an unplayable mess on multiple fronts.
The graphics aren't even that bad. But the marketing was terrible for this game. If you stick to the trailers, the game is ugly and empty. But when you play the game, you realize it's not empty and actually has gorgeous places, and on the technical side, it has great shaders. Any Pokemon with flames look awesome, and in fact, all the Pokemons look very good with these updated models. The only real issue in terms of graphics was the lava in the volcano. That looks horrible, lol.
Me realizing somewhere mid-game that 'Team Galaxy' (where we/protagonist got recruited) is most probably where Sinnoh's 'Team Galactic' originated, but here the organization is composed of good people aiming to expand everyone's knowledge of pokemon compared to the evil that Cyrus made his organization (Team Galactic) to be in the future. Then again, that also means we somehow became a member of Team Galactic only in its primitive/ancestral roots.

I dunno, that's a stretch on my end). Kinda thematically appropriate I guess for the rival character of Gen 4 to be the descendant of two people who are rivals of each other.

I like how people didn’t even notice all the similarities between this and the sun and moon games. It had pretty much the same thing as trails and totem Pokémon, and there aren’t gym even though it’s a main line Pokémon game. But they did do it a lot better
Legends takes much more from the Wild Area and DLCs from Gen 8, actually. The wide open zones, the various behavior of the Pokemons in the wild, the smooth switch between rides, and so on... In fact, the Wild Area was a prototype for the Swsh DLCs, which were a prototype for Legends, which is hopefully a stepping stone for the next games. But yes, Legends took the totem Pokémon thing, and made it much more "natural" in the story! It was a good way to include "boss fights".

Maybe not a sequel but rather some logs or lore you can find in a game which explains the origins of the Pokemon league. Also would be cool if there was another game like this but for Unova

I underestimated this game at first, graphics were a huge turnoff, but after playing it I can safely say that this is one of the best Pokémon games and one of the best games of 2022 for sure, good job Gamefreak, you just need to work on some aspects and you surely can revive this beloved franchise
It's not really dead. If anything, fans need to stop being so judgmental and attached to the previous gens for all of their pros cuz even though G8 is flawed, there are some things they got right much like how the past gens got some things wrong (including Gen 5, the most beloved).

@@JulliusTheGreat You said "revive", dude. That tends to mean bring back to life, in other words, you kinda said the franchise is dead. And even then, the series was still doing fine as it is. Heck, the most controversial game became one of the best selling in the series. Really, the people who think the series quality is in the decline are more in the minority especially when this isn't the first time fans criticized the series so my point still stands, buddy.
People put too much damn stock into graphics deciding if a game is good (a 'turnoff'). Be thankful it isn't Bubsy 3D, an unplayable mess on multiple fronts.
The graphics aren't even that bad. But the marketing was terrible for this game. If you stick to the trailers, the game is ugly and empty. But when you play the game, you realize it's not empty and actually has gorgeous places, and on the technical side, it has great shaders. Any Pokemon with flames look awesome, and in fact, all the Pokemons look very good with these updated models.
The only real issue in terms of graphics was the lava in the volcano. That looks horrible, lol.
Me realizing somewhere mid-game that 'Team Galaxy' (where we/protagonist got recruited) is most probably where Sinnoh's 'Team Galactic' originated, but here the organization is composed of good people aiming to expand everyone's knowledge of pokemon compared to the evil that Cyrus made his organization (Team Galactic) to be in the future.
Then again, that also means we somehow became a member of Team Galactic only in its primitive/ancestral roots.

@@dnmstarsi I chose Irida, but it was a TOUGH choice. I chose her because I thought that she wasn't nearly as self confident as Adaman was, so she would have felt betrayed if I didn't choose her, whereas Adaman may have felt totally fine with me choosing her given the circumstances, and he was.

@@ClericDoggo56 I honestly thought that both were somehow Barry's ancestors and somewhere down the line their descendants united, given that Iridia kinda has the right hair color and also has a degree of spunk while Adaman has a similar but toned down personality in that he's very impatient but ultimately wants to do the right thing (and like maybe if you combined their hairstyles you'd get Barry's hairstyle? I dunno, that's a stretch on my end). Kinda thematically appropriate I guess for the rival character of Gen 4 to be the descendant of two people who are rivals of each other.
Sometimes I wouldn't even start the battle yet just to listen to that banger of an intro.

I remember hearing this the first time thinking “oh cool new battle theme” and then the gym leader theme kicked in and I was like “WHAT”
I like how people didn’t even notice all the similarities between this and the sun and moon games. It had pretty much the same thing as trails and totem Pokémon, and there aren’t gym even though it’s a main line Pokémon game. But they did do it a lot better
Legends takes much more from the Wild Area and DLCs from Gen 8, actually. The wide open zones, the various behavior of the Pokemons in the wild, the smooth switch between rides, and so on... In fact, the Wild Area was a prototype for the Swsh DLCs, which were a prototype for Legends, which is hopefully a stepping stone for the next games.
But yes, Legends took the totem Pokémon thing, and made it much more "natural" in the story! It was a good way to include "boss fights".
I think I accidentally called the Nobles Totem Pokémon at some point before correcting myself.
