    transitive (takes one object)
    intransitive (takes no objects)
    ditransitive (takes two objects)

      It's because "to me" It's not a direct object, it's a prepositional phrase. So it's like saying "at night" or something like that.

It's actually a prepositional object. Remember that you should be capable of seeing or touching the noun, if that's the case is probably an object, then you have to categorising it in direct, indirect, or prepositional.
