- ok omg this actually took so fricking long, i wanted to try a new way doing animatics, i wanted this to be low detail and low movements so that i could do it quickly but i became too ambitious and it has literally taken me months to finish this.
i know purgatory isnt relevant anymore, i literally started this after the end of the first one if you want to figure out how long this actualyl took me lmao ;-;
im so sorry that its been a while since ive posted i have been working on my university work and since im in my final year i wanted to give it more attention. there is an itch under my skin telling me to animate, i have so many ideas and so little time.

I love it that Tubbo was the first one to shout run like he knows that noise and he knows what it means so he just runs cause there's no way of surviving something with that amount of explosive power.
The experience with nukes in Dream Smp has really helped him develop that ig
Ima just say this if the dsmp has multiverses and the dsmp ended with Tubbo setting off a nuke bc tommy told him what if since he knew he lost his best friend he went to the island not knowing some of the others would be there and they didn’t have their memory (except for maybe wil and bad having theirs) and now if he hears or sees something on the island it will set off memory’s that he had on the Dsmp (like maybe sunny reminds him of micheal and Fred reminds him of Ranboo)

Dude Foolish subtle roleplay is everything. He seems like a careless guy but he suddenly pulls out so much emotion and angst (and gut punching sentences). I was on his POV that day and my heart was racing.
YES! I feel the same. This scene was the reason for me to watch Purgatory. From the first day I noticed that Foolish was a little less playful than he always is. I watched everything from cellbit's POV, but Foolish was (for me) the gold, his roleplay was on point every day, he wanted so much to win and save Leo. And everything comes out in this moment. For me, the best part of purgatory was seeing this side of Foolish.

Okay in this scenario, i kinda disappointed at q!Philza. How can he not a single glance to her daughter. I know you don't want or expect to have two child but you sign the custody dude. Its really feel like drama when adoptive child got abandoned over real child... Gosh its crazy how realistic it is

I am obsessed with this in every way, shape, and form. Tubbo's movements seem so natural and believable (the nukes in his eyes are going to be the thing that keeps me up awake tonight I promise you that much), and Leonarda genuinely feels like a terrified kid throughout this all. The emotions in this entire animatic feel so unbelievably raw and this is literal perfection, to be quite frank with you. Everybody's bodies look like actual people's bodies (as dumb of a compliment as that seems), and the effects that you add to the eyes are truly something awesome. This is really, really incredible, and I'm just shocked I caught your animatic this early on. Awesome to have seen how much you've grown since you first started posting animations, and this is a true gem.

The way that tubbo's expressions show pure ptsd is craaaaazy, good job, purgatory was ages ago, and your animation still got me stressed about what happened there.
(Even tho the sound of roier getting crushed was pure comedy, minecraft story mode levels of funny death)
God, I miss purgatory. That was the first time I actually started watching and keeping up with qsmp, and the team pulled it off flawlessly. I'm genuinely so nostalgic for that time even though it was just a couple of months ago, it was the start of a long lasting hyperfixation that I don't think will go away anytime soon
YOOO same here!!! i had an interest in qsmp before purgatory, but kind of fell off of watching after the eggs’ disappearance, and purgatory just lit up such a huge hyperfixation for me too! i know some people weren’t fond of purgatory, but i adored it and have SUCH fond memories of not even wanting to miss a moment with these guys, haha

It would be fun if they did it again some time, but it would be exhausting for the people competing, so some adjustments and maybe they could do it often!
@@cat-cam-87They’re planning a Purgatory 3 that’s open to non QSMP people/people who speak languages not yet in QSMP. Since the server members were invited to Purgatory 2, I bet that if they want, they can definitely return for Purgatory 3!
Same, I got into qsmp really late and I have so much trouble with keeping up with streams but with purgatory I just watched all of vods straight through and had the best time

Gosh I love Foolish's character so much, and one of my favorite things is how him being so lighthearted and kinda reckless normally makes moments like this one, when Leo's in real danger and he's so distressed, stand out so much. This animation captures the moment so well, it's so good!

The way Tubbo’s eyes changed, like if he was remembering something from his past. The sirens going off, the memories of something catastrophic. He remembered something of his past life that suddenly instilled a new kind of fear, a terrifying déjà vu.

Ohhh, that touch in the beginning of Tubbo noticing first. Those are the kinds of callbacks I absolutely love; they're subtle and vague, but they're made and put in so carefully for the ones who know to recognize them.
God though this scene already killed me and this makes it even worse in the best way. Some of expression work in here ruins me. The way he frantically tears off the mask just.... I am not 100% sure what emotion that gave me but it hurt and there was a lot of it. A lot of animatics sort of gloss over the fact Foolish popped a totem (2 actually) trying to get to Leo, so I apprecite that you didn't and if anything, you highlighted that he literally *died* trying to save her. And with it cut and drawn, I notice other details that get lost in the noise, like I'd never noticed that he yells for Roier after with that same desperate fear.
...I'd never heard that last part either, that he wanted to give her totems. Doesn't he (canonically) hate having to use those? But even so, no hesitation or questioning, he used them to try to save her and would have used more. Ouch.
the absolute AGONY that was in Foolish's voice when he yelled for Leo and Roier was such good "roleplay" on his part. the genuine panic was cinema and you managed to 1000% capture the feeling!!!! ive got chills all over like this just happens yesterday....good job !!!!!!!

I wanted to make an alternate story in which in that part Phil tells him that his father will not return (since canonically the character is dead after his creator was expelled) and Tallulah goes into denial, but then resigns, because she has already learned to live without him no matter how much she would like to have him back. After accepting Phil as his father, he practically is...

Ohhh this defintely caused some tears to form. This is really well made, yet so tragic to my heart strings.
Hate to admit this, but, with everything going on right now, a part of me is hoping for another Purgatory type of activity for the ccs. If anything, to give them something to do beyond just waiting for the eggs to return.
That, and I kind of miss the Bolas dynamics.
