hoshi is insane! little fun fact: he worked on the song (with his fellow seventeen member woozi) thinking about the choreo and after perfecting the choreo he even went back into the studio to tweak the song so it could match his vision, he’s just amazing! He’s got a great way of depicting every lyric in his movements

Edit: We shouldn't forget the amazing staff behind svt choreographer Choi Youngjoon, performance director Yoon Hyelim, and Team Same.
@@icebearsaxe346let's give credit where credit is due, the choreographer of spider is Choi Youngjoon, who has choreographed almost all of their songs with Team Same. a lot of people make it sound like Hoshi is the sole choreographer or the lead choreographer but that's not the case.
@@chuuriagree. Hoshi used to have a big part in creating choreographies when svt was still new, but he’s too busy to contribute the same amount now.
@@antoinette2957 yeah according to namuwiki (Korean wiki) Youngjoon has choreographed for every title track except for Thanks. add on top of that bsides, Japanese title tracks, and performance unit songs he's also credited for. I really wished kpop companies would be far more transparent with their choreography crediting (or make that info easier to access) so we don't continue to spread misinformation like this.
hoshi and dino never being mentioned in the discussion of kpop's best dancers is and will always be a crime. so freaking underappreciated :((
Hoshi and seventeen always or often mentioned by korean dancers as the best performers . But Dino is so underappreciated, he also a very good and powerfull dancer

Not sure if this was mentioned in the sea of comments, but HOSHI is also a choreographer. So when you said he knew exactly what was happening and where everyone else is, that is probably because he had a significant part in choreographing the number himself. IT is a truly collaborative effort in most groups with a strong lead dancer, but I am aware that Hoshi has had his input in the team choreography, formations, and planning from the beginning of their career. Thank you for your breakdown and taking the time to showcase this phenomenal performer.

Hoshi’s Spider deserves to be seen by EVERYONE. It’s one of my favorite kpop songs - musically, lyrically, and performance-wise. ❤
OMG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR HOSHI’S SPIDER! This was seriously a whole masterpiece and so underrated. Hoshi is a visionary and the song and choreo came out beautifully together. Hoshi never trained in any particular dance but would copy K-pop choreographies but is now highly recognized for being a talented dancer. His energy and stage presence is really unmatched. Seeing him perform live with Seventeen has been a highlight of my life.

Choreographer Hoshi is always a pleasure to watch. You can usually tell when Hoshi is involved (whether it's heavily or just a little bit) in the choreo for a performance due to his style of musicality. Sucks it's so rare since 2018. Spider really showcases his admiration of Taemin in both song and dance.
i agree but that's as expected since svt became so busy ever since DWC. I think the last title song that hoshi is heavily involved is clap if not then home. for newer carats if they want to see hoshi's choreo style it is most evident in the first 3 title songs of svt (adore u, mansae, pretty u)
As a dancer and choreographer myself, seventeen is my favorite group to watch. I would say watch one of their earlier choreographies “Don’t Wanna Cry”. That performance has so much emotion yet precision behind every move. It doesn’t look like you’re watching kpop.

I love how they talk about his hand usage. I remember seventeen talking about how hoshi would ALWAYS ALWAYS be so strict about their hand movements and positions. Very very intentional! His musicality is INSANE!
He's honestly the most passionate performer I have ever witnessed in my life. He's so dedicated in all his works that's why it reflects his every performance. every.damn.time. That's my bias right there!

If hoshi is anything with his dance he's a perfectionist. He has such a passion for it and cares so much about each movement down to his fingers. No one can doubt his talent.

Hoshi is seriously one of the best and detail focused dancers I’ve seen in K-pop (so far). I’m happy to hear the opinion of other dancers on his performance, your analysis is always so much fun to watch and learn from, so thank you for making this video! I myself love this choreography because it’s versatile and basically a whole master’s class. Another thing I think you guys should check out is fellow members‘ Dinos Danceology, where Dino makes the choreography himself!
Hoshi is innately talented, with an insane work ethic. He is truly an artist worth watching.
I'm not into Seventeen but Hoshi caught my attention through this dance practice. He is very impressive and incredibly talented.

As much as I love Hoshi’s sharp and big movements. I have to give props to his stability and fluidness as a dancer. Sometimes, the basics can be overlooked but Hoshi knows how to use it to his advantage and add just the right amount of flare to it. Love how you described on how grounded he is in terms of balance because I noticed how it brings a whole new vibe to the dance!

When I first saw seventeen 7 years ago I always said that Hoshi would become one of the best dancers in kpop his energy, strength and charisma dancing is unique!! Our tiger is mighty❤

Loved this video, I always knew Hoshi was a great dancer but this gave me a whole new appreciation of Hoshi's control and how aware he is of both his own body and his environment
Hoshi is the choreographer of not only this song, but as a member of Seventeen, he has been their choreographer since the beginning. And he had choreographed for 13 men for every video they have done. You should see his notebooks where he draws out his plans....
this is simply not true. Choi Youngjoon has been their choreographer for nearly all the songs since the beginning with his choreography team Team Same. please if you're a Carat I beg you to research Choi Youngjoon because his role in Seventeen's dance training is crucial 😭
@chuuri I apologize if I upset you. That wasn't my intention. I am aware of Mr. Choi, however, I wasn't talking about him. And I'm not wrong when I say that Hoshi is their choreographer. Just like Woozi is their main songwriter. Due to the fact that they never really got support from Pledis, the guys are self-made. You really can't say I'm not a Caret just because I didn't mention Mr. Choi. I know who he is, and I know what he has done for Seventeen, but I was just talking about Hoshi at the time. So, if I did upset you, I am truly sorry.
Jun, Hoshi, Dino and The8 are part of the performance team of Seventeen. All of them are so good at dancing and you should watch them all

I have such IMMENSE respect for hoshi as a dancer and performer, he is so extremely professional and a perfectionist but you can still feel his passion for dance and performance through absolutely everything he does, and thats what keeps him so grounded and playful with it all, absolutely HATS OFF for hoshi !! There's an undeniable and beautiful uniqueness to Hoshi. You've highlighted his masterful skill level and exceptional spatial awareness. However, even to an untrained eye like mine, his beautifully executed dancing is simply breathtaking. HOSHI has always been known as a really good dancer being one of SEVENTEEN's main dancer and performance team leader but it's always awesome to hear each and every new compliment to him! He is really really good 💯 and I have also watched all the Spider performances but it feels like I am watching another version in a new different level of appreciation because of what you guys noticed. It's in the details, and HOSHI is a perfectionist you can trust him not to miss the details. So proud of him! ❤️❤️

HOSHI is such a captivating dancer, i started getting into Seventeen because of him, he always finds new iconic moves in each choreo he does. If u haven't i would also recommend another member from Seventeen Dino his covers are great, and one of Hoshi idols Taemin, any of his choreo vids are AMAZING(minus Danger since u already reacted to that)
Hoshi is so talented and absolutely mesmerizing! I'm so happy that professionals who aren't familiar with him have the same opinion!
Another recommendation for an impressive dance performance video is Jung Wooyoung's "Bad" performance video he did for Studio Choom for AOTM (artist of the month)! He is a naturally groovy dancer who I think has an affinity for street/hip hop but this performance showcases his ability in clean and sharp moves while still maintaining the charisma and style he's known for!
yesssss he slayed so hard and set the standard for 4th gen idols for studio choom performances!

3:46 I RELATE WITH THIS SO MUCHHHH, its so annoying for me when only one verse is spent on the set piece, and then they just abandon it. it feels incomplete. that's why i love it when seventeen uses props and set pieces, because they NEVER just leave it there. like the beams here in Spider and the couch in Pretty U, they always use it to the fullest all through out the song

i am so glad yall got a chance to react and analyze one of my all time favourite choreographies and songs!!! it still gags me to this day how the dancers and hoshi created such a creative and amazingly executed choreography that still stands out to this day.

The most amazing part about this is that Hoshi was giving more artistry than giving full energy unlike in most dances of Seventeen. According to Youngjoon, he always utilize Hoshi and all of the performance unit because they are fast and energetic, so you'll see them everywhere in the choreography. One second, they are in the right side and the next seconds, they'll be in the left side with just a few countings. In this choreography, I love how Hoshi was framed at the center and inside those bars. This gives emphasize on him and how great of a dancer he is. Hoshi is the definition of a dancer.

What I really like about this choreo is that they took full advantage from the fact that it was not meant to be a performance on stage, with audience. So they took full advantage of the entire room and switching the front pov, getting that "3D stage".
