    Can you imagine what Luke Skywalker was to the Imperials after Endor? Talking around their war tables in hushed tones, armour dirty and uniforms disheveled.
    Supply lines run dry. Barricades hit by forces far more powerful than expected. The formation of the New Republic was sure to be troublesome, but there are rumors of wizardry, of things thought impossible occuring on the battlefield.
    All they know is that three powerful sorcerers arrived on the Death Star II-the fearsome Lord Vader, the almighty Emperor and a single Rebel. Only one left the station alive.
    Once the Empire was powerful. Once they were the pursuers. Now they are hunted.
    And the worst part of all?
    Now the Rebels have their own sorcerer, their own Vader.
    The Jedi.
    The Grandmaster.
    The Skywalker.

    • @TownieGirl1974
      @TownieGirl1974 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Crazily enough, we just may see something like this in the Ahsoka series.
      I honestly think that the Ahsoka series is going to be Dave Filoni's send off for Ahsoka. And if I'm correct, I can't see Dave & co passing up the opportunity of letting us finally see Luke and Ahsoka meet.
      And if I'm being even more honest, not only do I think we're going to see Luke and Ahsoka meet during the Ahsoka series, I think Ahsoka is going to die in Luke's arms.
      She will die in Luke's arms just after she learns the truth from Luke that in the end Anakin was redeemed.
      Dave has this uncanny ability of giving us fans what we want, but at a cost.
      This scene with Luke with from The Mandalorian is a perfect example of that.
      We finally got to see Luke Skywalker in all his glory, but it came at the cost of Luke taking Grogu away & Grogu leaving the show.
      I could so see Dave doing something like that with Ahsoka and Luke.
      We finally get to see them meet, we even finally get to see Ahsoka find out that Anakin was redeemed in the end, but seeing all that will come at the cost of losing Ahsoka.
      But just like with Luke showing up in the Mandalorian and taking Grogu away, as sad as that was, it seemed right. It will feel the same way if what I predicted above happens with Ahsoka and Luke. It will be incredibly sad, but it will feel like a proper and fitting end for the amazing character Dave helped to create.

    Grand Master Luke "I manipulate black holes before breakfast" Skywalker.

    • @LukeSkywalker-fm1dc
      @LukeSkywalker-fm1dc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker, who has spent decades of training and learning to get where he is, and whose choices have occasionally had negative consequences along the way, both for himself and others;
      - Manipulated Black Holes to his advantage by sheer will, and during space combat while in a fighter/freighter/shuttle
      - Walked across lave WHILE fighting and defeating a monster
      - Learned how to teleport, as well as Flow-walking (the ability to look in different times of the past; passive time-travel)
      - Can make illusions that make TLJ seem like amateur hour (like entire ships rather than just one person)
      - Mastered a neutral/Light-side version of Force Lightning
      - Telepathically summoning every Jedi in the galaxy at one point (there were hundreds if not thousands at that meeting)
      - When pressed, can move and fight faster than hypersonic speed levels.
      And after the strongest of these feats, actually shows signs of exhaustion/that it took effort to pull off.
      Rey Palpatine, who spent maybe three days on Ack-Tho (or whatever the proper name is) in training, as well as maybe a year of practising a training course with Leia, if that much at all, and whose choices rarely have negative consequences at all, and if they do they are ignored/responsibility pawned off to others;
      - Levitated boulders instinctively
      - Did Jedi Mind Trick without learning of existence/being taught how to
      - Held off an angsty brat played by a misused actor (they could've done so much more with Adam Driver and Kylo Ren.) both telepathically and in combat, despite having no training/experience whatsoever while going against someone with years of it.
      - Instant Healing.
      And makes it look effortless while making no mistakes with real consequences.

      @@LukeSkywalker-fm1dc yeah Luke was kind of op too in the legends. No matter how much tired he looked like after doing these miracles, he surely is as much as mary suey as Rey. I'm not defending her or complaining, is just that I'm really tired of this double standard that she gets bashed over when legends Luke did similar things.

    • @LukeSkywalker-fm1dc
      @LukeSkywalker-fm1dc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@nicolassteckert7149 Perhaps that's true. For me, the problem's more along the lines that Luke at least showed it took effort to accomplish those things, that it's not an easy something that everyone can do. And that there are consequences to his errors/mistakes, like losing his hand to Vader in Empire Strikes Back, or falling into a coma when against a hidden Sith Lord in Exar Kun, or failing to stop the rise of Darth Caedus due to hubris/inability to see the true evil of his nephew in Legacy of the Force.
      And that as his powers increased they scaled up the threats to roughly match it, physically if not emotionally. Fighting Imperial Warlords became too mundane? They go full-Warhammer-40.000 and bring in extragalactic invaders, killing off Chewie to show how serious they were. The Vong too bizarre? Make his own nephew turn sith, who's been on a galactic expedition for ten-fifteen years (though I could be off with that number) to discover various Force cultures and powers, making his list of powers just as diverse. And make him kill Luke's wife on top of that so that Luke can't kill him without risking his own fall to the Dark Side. That too close to home? Have the government exile Luke and his son and cut them off from support, and then he faces an entire planet/culture full of hidden Sith Lords and the equivalent of the Force Devil in Abeloth.
      Rey, on the other hand, makes it all seem effortless and that she never has real consequences for her actions. Despite being a scavenger on a desert world who has never left the planet, she's an expert pilot who can somehow best Kylo Ren both telepathically and physically, while he should be her superior both in use of the Force and in Lightsaber combat due to years of experience (he took down Canon-Luke's temple and slaughtered most of his students, for God's sake). Despite only a day or three of training she fights off Snoke's elite guard, while Luke got his ass handed to him by Vader after receiving a similar amount of rushed training (and I'd argue Luke didn't even train with his Lightsaber all that much on Dagobah, focusing more on the Jedi way/Force-use instead).
      As for those consequences, here's a few examples: Chewie supposedly dies in a shuttle? He's shown alive later on. Leia dies while trying to commune with Kylo Ren as Rey deals the latter a mortal blow? Nah, let her heal that shit near-instantly instead and make it part of Kylo's redemption process. And let Rey never face the consequences of (in)directly killing Leia off. Palpatine blowing the shit out of the fleet above with a massive Force Storm? Nope, let all the Jedi show up alive later inside her and let her overpower him with the power of friendship.
      (granted, they killed Leia off due to Carrie Fisher's death in real life, but the way they wrote her out was bullshit.)
      Bottom line is: my objection isn't that Rey's overpowered and that Luke isn't. Both appear too OP at times. But with Luke at least, they showed there was a foundation for his powers through training and effort and years of study, and the writers at least attempt to match the level of the threats to Luke's apparent power in Legends. And at least he faces the consequences for his actions if they cost people's lives and make him take responsibility. Granted, I never really dove into Canon lore in the comics/books like I did Legends, but I've never seen any such thing happen with Rey.
      TL;DR: My problem is that while Legends Luke can at times be as OP as Canon Rey, they at least show that it takes Luke effort and training to get where he is, they scale up the threats to match his power (granted it's at times a bit ridiculous, but at least they try), and he sometimes gets it wrong and it has consequences. Rey on the other hand, does everything perfectly and can do no wrong.
      Edit: Make a character OP? Show how and why they got so OP rather than just doing it with no explanation, make them face OP threats, and let them make real mistakes and show it has consequences (Like Zuko deciding to side with Azula at the end of season 2 in Avatar: The Last Airbender).

      @@LukeSkywalker-fm1dc wow. Well now I feel dumb for ever saying that. It's just that I was feeling tired of almost everyone I see comment on how mary suey is Rey and go on saying bad things on her, when other characters these people like seemed to not act different, such as legends Luke or Starkiller. But thank you for cleaning that up. That's another good way of analyzing the situation.
      Since you seem to know a lot of the EU, I wanted to discuss another thing that is unrelated. I have never read basically anything from EU before ( yes complaining about a Luke I never got to know was very dirty of my part, sorry) aside from the four factions books from Daniel Wallace ( empire manual, the Jedi path, the sith book and the bounty hunter one) and just by these plus the stories I often hear from others about EU events, the lore goes from the most distant past to the most far future. Stories about the first force users, from millions of years before the ot time. Hundreds of wars, of characters with full backstories.
